When Will Bills Be Available? Montclair State University (MSU) no longer mails paper bills or statements. All invoices are posted and available for viewing and/or printing on the Student Web Enrollment Student Services (WESS) Account Summary website. WESS is MSU s suite of online services which affords our students a convenient method of viewing: Account summary by term Payment options Their schedules and grades Their financial aid award letter Students access WESS with their Student ID Number (CWID) and their six digit Personal ID Number (PIN). To access these services go to the WESS LOGIN: http://www.montclair.edu/wess/

When Will Bills Be Available? MSU charges an Undergraduate full-time flat rate per semester for all students enrolled in 12-18 credits. As long as your student maintains this credit load your tuition and fee cost should not change. There may be a slight variation for courses that have an additional fee. Statements are updated at the end of each business day to reflect any changes to the student s financial obligation. These updates can include but are not limited to room, board, course fees, library fines, residence hall fines and any special fees or fines charged to a student s account. Once a student has registered for classes, they are responsible for all charges associated with that semester.

When Will Bills Be Available? Term Bill Posted Payment Due Fall Term Spring Term Winter Term Summer Term End-July Mid-November Mid- November Beginning-April Mid-August Beginning -January Mid- December Mid-May Balances not paid by the due date risk a possible cancelation of Blackboard access and a late fee assessment. If the student decides not to attend any or all of their courses, they must officially withdraw through WESS or submit a written notice to the Registrar's office located in College Hall, Room 204. It is the student's obligation to drop/withdraw from their classes.

Statement of Responsibility By clicking submit at the end of this registration process, I acknowledge and agree that I am responsible for payment of any amount due to the University arising out of my registration, including but not limited to tuition, fees, room and board, residence hall and parking fines, late fees, and other special fees assessed to my account. I understand that the University will apply to my account any financial aid or student loan that I have been awarded and accepted, but I remain personally responsible for any amount due not covered by my aid or loan and any amount due in the event I become ineligible for any aid or loan after the date of registration. If my account remains unpaid, I understand that the University may de-register me from all classes, place a hold on my account, deactivate my Blackboard access, withhold release of my transcripts or certificate of degree, remove me from student housing, assess interest and/or late fees and collection costs on the unpaid amount, refer my account to a collection agency for collection, and notify any credit reporting bureau of my failure to pay this debt.

Health Insurance Health insurance is mandatory for all full-time undergraduate and graduate students as defined by the University: 12 or more credits for Undergraduate, will be $855 annually 9 or more credits for Graduate will be $1,242 The coverage being provided by the student health insurance plan has been improved in keeping with the premium increase. Students who have other coverage available will be able to waive out of the student health insurance plan. This can be done by completing the Health Insurance Waiver form available online only. A notice will be sent by our insurance provider to full time students when the site is operational usually the beginning of August. Health insurance is required both to protect against unexpected high medical costs and provide access to quality care. The new federal healthcare laws also require parents health care policies to provide coverage for dependents up to age 26.

Health Insurance In order to complete the Waiver process, please go to www.firststudent.com, select the "Enroll/Waive Insurance link, click on the link for Montclair State University. You will then click the waiver link and begin the process. Please follow the examples for completing the form. Again all waivers must be processed online. Once the procedure is complete, do not forget to print out a receipt for your records. The insurance premium charge will be removed usually the week after add/drop. This is usually the week after the first day of classes. The Schedule of Courses book available on the Registrar s Office web page (www.montclair.edu/registrar/schedulebook) will have the official calendar. When making payment prior to removal reduce the amount due by $855 for UG or $1,242 for GR. Either postcards, letters and/or a complete packet explaining the plan will be mailed to the address on file.

Important- Health Insurance Students who do not enroll for or waive coverage by the designated deadline, will be automatically enrolled in the school-sponsored plan and charged the applicable premium. All enrollment or waiver selection must be completed by the deadlines listed on the Student Accounts web site: www.montclair.edu/studentaccounts/policies/healthinsurance The University reserves the right to make the final determination regarding eligibility for the initial and continued enrollment in this insurance plan. The University reserves the right to audit all waivers in order to ensure compliance with the University insurance requirements. Student that withdraw will also be reviewed. Please be sure to have a copy of your insurance policy as you may be asked to provide this documentation.

Health Insurance Part-time students that need insurance coverage and student dependents may also enroll in the United Healthcare plan. Full details regarding the United Healthcare plan can be found at www.firststudent.com or contact United Healthcare directly at 1-800-505-4160. Please keep in mind MSU only offers this option for students that do not have their own health insurance. We cannot answer specific questions concerning coverage. You will need to contact United Health using the information above for a comprehensive response.
