CENTENNIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT Warminster, PA 18974 CAP & GOWN BID NO. 2014-42 General Specifications March 2014 The Centennial School Board solicits sealed bids for Graduation Caps and Gowns for the William Tennent High School, 333 Centennial Road, Warminster, PA 18974, as indicated on the attached specifications, all subject to the following general conditions: 1. Bids shall be delivered, sealed and plainly marked "Cap & Gown Bid No. 2014-42" to the office of Mr. Christopher Berdnik, Business Administrator, 433 Centennial Road, Warminster, Pa 18974, on or before 1:00 p.m. on April 16, 2014. Bids will be opened at 1:00 p.m. on April 16, 2014. 2. Each bid must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bid Bond made payable to Centennial School District in the amount of 10% of the total 2014/15 bid amount as a guarantee of successful completion of the contract. Checks of the unsuccessful bidders will be returned when contracts are awarded. 3. Centennial School Board reserves the right to waive any or all the technicalities in this bid. Bidders will guarantee the bid price will remain firm for 90 days from date of the bid opening. 4. Bidders are welcome to attend the bid opening, however, no opportunity will be given to any salesman to demonstrate his merchandise. 5. All pricing will be based on free delivery to the William Tennent High School. 6. School staff will measure and collect payment from students for their cap and gown. The vendor will invoice and be paid by the District. 7. The bidder will: a. Provide an individually measured and sized, low-lustre sheen, cap and gown to each participant. Also, provide a red/gold satin stole to each participant. The stole is to be constructed with red on one side and gold on the reverse side and closed at both ends. The cap, gown and stole must be boxed or packaged individually and labeled with the receiving student's name. b. If needed, provide academic gowns and hoods with black caps for approximately 15 adults. The cost of these items will be billed separately to the Principal of William Tennent High School. A separate order will be filed for these items. c. Deliver the caps, gowns and stoles to the William Tennent High School (inside delivery) at least three weeks prior to the commencement date, which may be obtained from the Principal of William Tennent High School, by mid-april of each year. d. Supply for reference purposes the names of three senior high schools within a 50-mile radius of William Tennent High School who have received cap and gown services from the bidder within the last two school years. e. Pick up from William Tennent High School and give full credit for all caps, gowns and stoles not used by students. f. Provide a descriptive flyer or catalog describing the items bid at the time of the bid submission.

A call tag is to be included with samples or samples may also be picked up at the school district administration building within thirty days of the date the Centennial School Board awards the contract for caps, gowns and stoles. 9. Bids shall be made on bid form supplied as part of these specifications. 10. The Centennial School Board reserves for itself the right to reject any or all bids, to accept bids in part or in whole, to select on the basis of quality and material which in its opinion will best meet its needs and to determine in each case what constitutes an equal. 11. ANTI-DISCRIMINATION CLAUSE (Section 755, Pennsylvania School Code) 1. In accordance with the provisions of the Pennsylvania School Code, the contractor agrees: a. That in the hiring of employees for the performance of work under this contract, or any subcontractor hereunder, no contractor, subcontractor, nor any person acting on behalf of such contractor of subcontractor, shall by reason of race, creed, color, discriminate against any citizen of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania who is qualified and available to perform work to which the employment relates; b.
