Insurance Benefits The Sum Insured is the higher of: a) the Minimum Sum Insured plus top-ups and recurrent single premiums; and b) the Basic Sum Insured minus withdrawals. Here, the Basic Sum Insured is selected by the policyholder and the Minimum Sum Insured is 5 times the Annual Premium, subject to a minimum of S$12,000. If you make a partial withdrawal, your Basic Sum Insured will decrease by the amount withdrawn. However, the reduced Sum Insured will not be less than S$12,000 at any time. You may expand your insurance benefits at any time by adding one or more of the following Optional Benefits if the Life Insured is within the acceptable age limit and health status: - Level Term Life Benefit - Level Term Disability Benefit - Reducing Term Life Benefit - Reducing Term Disability Benefit - Waiver of Contribution Benefit - Critical Illness Link Benefit - Reducing Critical Illness Link Benefit - Payor Benefit - Comprehensive Payor Benefit - Hospital Cash Benefit - Comprehensive Accidental Benefit - Accidental Death Benefit - Lady FirstCare Link Benefit - Junior FirstCare Link Benefit - Junior FirstCare Plus Link Benefit - Disability Linked Benefit - Disability Extended Benefit In the event of death or terminal illness whilst the policy is in force, the Benefit which is the higher of the following, will be paid: a) the Sum Insured at the time we receive the claim notification; or b) the value of all units under your policy. Terminal illness is defined as a conclusive diagnosis of an illness that is expected to result in death within 12 months. You may increase the Basic Sum Insured and Sum Insured for optional rider benefits or add optional rider benefits on the next premium due date, subject to normal underwriting requirements. Reductions in Basic Sum Insured or coverage of optional rider benefits or deletion of optional rider benefits may be made after the first premium year, on the next premium due date upon your application. Premium reduction charges will apply if there is any reduction in premiums as a result of reduction in Sum Insured within 7 premium years (see below). The policy ends upon payment of the Benefit due to death or terminal illness. If the information contained in the insurance application is untrue, inaccurate or incomplete on the date of issue, we may terminate your policy and refund you the net investment amount without interest. The net investment amount refunded to you will be your aggregate investment amount, minus all your withdrawals (if any), and expenses we had incurred in relation to your policy. (Ver. 14.06R) Page 1 of 6
Premium Payment You cannot increase your regular premium contributions after policy inception. A Premium Holiday option is available to you at any time after the 2 nd policy year. This feature allows you to stop paying regular scheduled premiums for a specific period of time. The unpaid premiums will not be considered a debt to the Company. You cannot decrease your regular premium contributions within the first year from the date your policy is incepted. Reductions in regular premiums are allowed after one year i.e., after premium installments for: 12 monthly; 4 quarterly; 2 half yearly; 1 annual are paid, after which regular premium reductions are allowed at the next premium due date. The reduced premium should not be less than the minimum amount as stated in the Subscription of units section and will be subject to Premium Reduction Charge. Premium Reduction Charge deducted via cancellation of units will be imposed based on the following formula: Premium Reduction Charge = Amount of Annualised Premium Reduction (for premium year t) x Reduction Rate (for premium year t) Accumulated Reduction Charge. where Annualised Premium Reduction refers to the reduction from the original annualised premium. This charge is deducted each time there is a premium reduction at the due date when the premium is reduced as per the table below. Premium 8 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Year (t) onwards Reduction N/a 55% 60% 70% 75% 80% 85% 0% Rate Premium year relates to 1 annual or 2 half-yearly or 4 quarterly or 12 monthly regular premiums that have been paid in full and accepted by the Company. Apart from Annual Premiums, Premium Year for all other payment frequencies will be rounded up to the nearest whole number: for example, if 20 Monthly regular premiums are paid, then the Premium Year will be rounded up to 2 year and the Premium Reduction Charge will apply accordingly. This charge is deducted only one-time (not an ongoing charge) corresponding to any premium reduction. Example 1: Illustration on Premium Reduction Charge: A policyholder contributes a regular premium of S$400 monthly. In month 15, policyholder reduces premium to S$300 monthly from the original premium of S$400: Premium Reduction Charge = S$100 x 12 x 55% - 0 = S$660 In month 25, policyholder reduces premium to S$250 monthly from the original premium of S$400: Premium Reduction Charge = S$150 x 12 x 60% - S$660 = S$420 Policyholder subsequently opts for a Premium Holiday in year 4 and resumes premium in year 5 but reducing it from the original S$400 to S$200: Premium Year = 4 (due to Premium Holiday in year 4) Premium Reduction Charge = S$200 x 12 x 70% - S$1080 = S$600 If you stop paying your premiums within the first 2 Policy Years and the policy has acquired a cash value, the policy will terminate and any cash value (less any applicable Surrender Penalty) will be paid. If you stop paying your premiums or if you elect the Premium Holiday after the first 2 Policy Years and there is enough cash value in your policy account to meet the policy charges, we will keep the policy in force for the full amount of insurance. However, any optional premium waiver benefit you have chosen will cease. When the cash value in the policy is not enough to meet the policy charges, it will cause the policy to terminate and no benefits will be payable. Subscription of units You can subscribe with a minimum annual premium of S$2,400 or half-yearly premium of S$1,200 or quarterly premium of S$600 or monthly premium of S$200 and invest this into a maximum of 10 funds by using: - cash (includes cheque or inter-bank giro) Pricing of units is based on an offer-bid basis. The Offer Price is the price at which you purchase the units and the Bid Price is the price at which you sell to us. The difference in Offer and Bid Price is the bid-offer spread. Upon approval of your application, the investment amount expressed as a percentage of premium used to buy units at the Offer Price of the respective fund(s) you have chosen will be allocated at 100%. The Offer Price(s) used will be determined the next business day. The units are then credited into your policy account. Example 2: Illustration on subscription of units before policy charges in the 1 st year: A policyholder contributes S$2,400 annually and selects a Basic Sum Insured of S$15,000. Assuming a Bid Price / Offer Price at the start of 1st year = S$1.90 / S$2.00 Premiums allocated to buy units = 100% x S$2,400 = S$2,400 Units purchased before policy charges = S$2,400 /S$2.00 = 1200 units Total units in policy account before policy charges = 1200 units (Ver. 14.06R) Page 2 of 6
Policy charges Policy fee Monthly policy fee for administering your policy account is S$5. We may increase the monthly fee but it will not exceed S$10. The Policy fee applies as long as the policy is in force, including the Premium Holiday Period. Supplementary charge Supplementary Charge for the first 20 years of your policy is 0.125% per month at the start of each month on net asset value plus any premiums collected but not yet allocated into units. The Supplementary charge is applicable during the Premium Holiday Period and will be extended beyond 20 years to a period equivalent to the number of months/years of missing premiums due to Premium Holiday. Example 3: Illustration on the extension of Supplementary Charge period due to Premium Holiday: Policyholder contributes an annual premium of S$2400. Policyholder exercises a Premium Holiday between Year 8 to 10, and subsequently resumes premium payment. The table below shows the Supplementary Charge payable for the respective periods: Policy Year Annual Premium Supplementary Charge 1 7 S$2400 0.125% per month 8 10 Premium Holiday 0.125% per month 11 20 S$2400 0.125% per month 21 23 S$2400 0.125% per month* 24 onwards S$2400 0.0% per month *Supplementary Charge is extended for 3 years, equivalent to the number of months/years of missing premiums due to Premium Holiday Insurance charge The insurance charges for providing you the basic death and optional benefits depend on your age, gender and health. These are not guaranteed and we reserve the rights to charge up to 2 times the current rates from any plan anniversary. The charges apply as long as the policy is in force, including the Premium Holiday Period. Summary of your insurance charges can be found in the benefit illustration. At the start of the policy, units from your policy account are sold at the Bid Price to pay for the policy fee, supplementary charge and insurance charges if any; and thereafter on the same day of each subsequent month. Example 4: Illustration on policy charges at start of first year: (continued from Example 2) At the start of the first year, the charges consist of Monthly policy fee = S$5.00 Supplementary Charge = 0.125% x S$2,400 = S$3 Assuming an insurance charge at time of deduction = S$1.50 Total charges = S$5 + 3 + 1.50 = S$9.50 Units deducted for total charges = S$9.50 / S$1.90 = 5 units Units in policy account before charges = 1,200 units Units in policy account after charges = 1,200 5 = 1,195 units Example 5: Illustration on policy charges in subsequent years: (continued from Example 4) At the start of third year, assuming the Account Value before the third premium is paid = S$7,000, the charges consist of Monthly policy fee = S$5.00 Supplementary Charge = 0.125% x (S$7000 + S$2,400) = S$11.75 Assuming an insurance charge at time of deduction =S$6.25 Total charges = S$5.00 + 11.75 + 6.25 = S$23 Assuming a Bid Price / Offer Price at the start of third year = S$2.00 / S$2.11 Units deducted for total charges = S$23 / S$2.00 = 11.50 units Top-up Premiums and Recurrent Single Premiums (RSP) You may choose to do an ad-hoc top-up at any time into one or more funds. The minimum top-up amount is S$500. The full amount of the top-up will be used to buy units in the fund(s) chosen by you. You may also choose to do a RSP on the same payment frequency as your regular premiums. The minimum RSP for any payment frequency is S$500. There is no administrative charge for making a top-up or RSP. Example 6: Illustration on an ad-hoc top-up/rsp: (continued from Example 4) The policyholder decides to make a single premium top-up of S$4,000 at the start of the 1st policy year. Minimum Sum Insured before top-up = S$2,400 x 5 = S$12,000 Minimum Sum Insured after top-up = S$12,000 + S$4,000 = S$16,000 Selected Sum Insured before top-up = S$15,000 (Ver. 14.06R) Page 3 of 6

There should be at least S$500 left in each fund. To surrender, you must complete and submit our surrender form.
