Friday, July 23, 2010 Sunday, July 25, 2010 Asheville - The Cove We arrive at the Charlotte airport this morning and board our coach. We enjoy lunch at a local restaurant where we have our first taste of southern cooking and a chance to get acquainted. After lunch we drive to the Graham Library for a walking tour with Gigi Graham. After our tour, we board our coach and drive to The Cove in Asheville, our home for the next two nights. Inspired by the worship of Fernando Ortego, and under the leadership of Bible teachers Jill Briscoe and Anne Graham Lotz, we participate in our weekend seminar, A Time of Refreshing. Our seminar includes interactive workshops on prayer and Bible reading, as well as reflective, personal evaluation. (Meals as provided by seminar) Note: For those arriving in Charlotte Thursday, we will arrange to pick you up at your hotel prior to meeting the group at the airport. at 11:30 Sunday, July 25, 2010 Asheville - Marriott We leave The Cove and the seminar this afternoon Appalachian charm of Asheville, the home of literary greats such as Thomas Wolfe, Carl Sandburg, and O Henry begins as we visit the Thomas Wolfe Memorial home and visitor s center immortalized by Wolfe in his autobiographical novel, Look Homeward Angel. Next we become familiar with Herstory as we take a ninety minute walking tour spotlighting women s history as we hear the stories of the famous, the infamous, and the unsung heroes of the female persuasion. Afterwards we have a little free time to explore the arts, architecture, and charm of Asheville. Later this afternoon we enjoy high tea at the Village Tea Room. photo compliments of Asheville NC CVB Tuesday, July 27, 2010 Asheville - Marriott We enjoy the breakfast buffet at our hotel this morning before continuing our tour. Today we explore the spectacular beauty of the Biltmore, George W. Vanderbilt s castle-like mansion in Asheville. A local expert joins us for photo compliments of Tupelo Honey Cafe refreshed and inspired. After checking into the Marriott we enjoy dinner together in a local downtown restaurant. D Monday, July 26, 2010 Asheville - Marriott This morning we enjoy breakfast at the Tupelo Honey Café where we order off the menu. Our exploration of the Used with permission of The Biltmore Company a guided tour through the gardens and the Biltmore House. Our tour will include a visit to the wine cellars and a complimentary wine tasting. We have time this afternoon to explore and enjoy this magnificent facility on our own before a farewell dinner in the Champagne Cellar or private room at the estate.
