We have highly experienced Experts who have been recognised by professional bodies including the Academy of Experts and Expert Witness Institute. We are the Lancashire representative of the Network of Independent Forensic Accountants ( NIFA ). NIFA was formed to pool the vast knowledge, expertise and resources from local firms to create a UK network providing an unrivalled, cost effective forensic accountancy service. We work with lawyers, insurers, corporates, individuals and the police. Our fundamental service is to analyse financial data and communicate our findings in a clear and concise way. Our Experts have experience of testifying in court and ensure that their reports are of an exceptional high standard that can be relied upon. We are instructed as Expert Witnesses on behalf of claimants, defendants and in the role of single joint experts, providing expert accounting evidence for mediation and trial. We also assist in Legal Aid funded cases. We abide by the respective responsibilities of experts, as set out in Part 25 of the Family Procedure Rules, Part 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules and Part 33 of the Criminal Procedure Rules along with the accompanying practice directions and codes of practice. In addition to acting as Experts we can be instructed in an advisory capacity to quantity losses and thereby assist in settlement negotiations.

Big 4 trained with extensive Boutique experience, she is adept at reviewing and evaluating the economic loss element of a claim or dispute, thereby assisting clients, be it insurers, lawyers, corporates or individuals in the settlement process, with flexible reporting usually by way of a written report (either in an advisory format or formal expert witness reports). She takes instructions from firms of solicitors and insurers, on behalf of defendants, claimants and in the role of single joint expert. Caroline is a member of The Academy of Experts. As Rushtons of Forensic Accounting, Caroline is responsible for the day to day management of Rushtons forensic accounting work. She prepares reports either authored in her own name, or under the direction of other Rushtons experts. In recent years, Caroline has focused on insurance litigation, in particular, quantifying losses relating to: personal injury/fatal accident; professional negligence; product liability; and subrogation / recovery actions (in relation to business interruption claims). She also has experience of working directly with insurers in relation to first party business interruption claims arising from property damage and fraud / employee fidelity claims, and is able to apply her skillset and experience to commercial litigation, matrimonial disputes and regulatory litigation. Caroline regularly reviews her training needs and undertakes training as necessary. Caroline has prepared and presented training seminars and workshops to clients and colleagues on various topics including business interruption, loss of profits, loss of earnings and pension, and the financial factors to consider in the sentencing of Health & Safety Prosecutions. Caroline has also co-authored articles on pension reforms, and more recently wrote a blog about the 2016 Health and Safety Executive Sentencing Guideline and the need to go beyond turnover as a measure of fines.

He takes instructions from firms of solicitors and insurers, and on both claimant and defence work. Neil is a member of the Academy of Experts and has undertaken training and completed reports as a Single Joint Expert. Neil have vast experience in preparing company and share valuation reports, usually as a Single Joint Expert. He has also prepared loss of earnings calculations for personal injury claims, usually as a result of road traffic accidents. He also has experience of partnership disputes, professional negligence claims and loss of profit calculations. As a Partner in a general practice, the day to day experience in advising clients on various accounting and tax issues has stood him in good stead when examining some of the most diverse cases that he has been instructed on. NIFA provides forensic accountancy training seminars on topics such as changes to legal reporting standards, valuation methods and the latest issues in the industry. Neil also undertakes training to keep up to date of current developments in audit, accountancy and taxation work by means of Rushtons membership of a North West Region training group. He take instructions from firms of solicitors and insurers and on both claimant and defence work. Michael is a Founding Member of the Expert Witness Institute and has experience in producing Expert reports, and also in providing Expert testimony under cross examination in Court. His experience in forensic accounting includes matrimonial cases, fraud investigations, false accounting, Proceeds of Crime Act cases, valuation of businesses in shareholder and partnership disputes and financial claims arising from many forms of litigation. In particular, he has worked on complex loss of earnings computations arising from personal injuries. As a Partner in a general practice, the day to day experience in advising clients on various accounting and tax issues has stood him in good stead when examining some of the most diverse cases that he has been instructed on. At Rushtons Forensics, Adam has experience in producing company and share valuation reports, predominately in matrimonial disputes. He has also worked on loss of profit calculations, personal injury claims and various fraud investigations. Prior to joining Rushtons, Adam worked for nearly 5 years at PwC, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant and began to specialise in forensic accounting. This provided experience across a wide range of forensic accounting services including large scale fraud investigations, loss of profit valuations, shareholder disputes, completion account review and negotiation processes, and anti-bribery and corruption reviews. During his time at PwC he also worked in the Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) team in Transaction Services, providing support at all stages of a transaction from pre-deal work through to post-completion. Adam undertakes various training courses to ensure that he is fully aware of the requirements of a forensic accountant and continues to develop his knowledge in order to become an accredited expert in the near future. NIFA provides forensic accountancy training seminars on topics such as changes to legal reporting standards, valuation methods and the latest issues in the industry. Adam also undertakes training to keep up to date of current developments in audit, accountancy and taxation work to ensure a breadth of skills as well as the specialist field of forensic accounting.
