Registration page on PayFlexDirect.com When a Retiree visits https://retiree.payflexdirect.com/employeelogin.aspx for the first time, they must register their account. The member will need to click on Register Now to get started. Then they will see the page shown here. Their member ID is their Social Security number (without dashes or spaces). The zip code is what s on file with DTE. The next step will be to create a username and password, select a security questions and enter an answer as well as provide an e- mail address. NOTE: if the Retiree accesses the PayFlex member website through the RHA website, then the Retiree will not need to complete these registration steps. 3
My Dashboard: After a Retiree logs in to PayFlexDirect.com, they will see My Dashboard. Under Alerts, Retirees can view messages for any claims that have been approved and are scheduled for payment. The message will show the amount of the claim and the date the claim payment will be made. This includes individual claims and recurring claims. This means the dollar amount displayed in the message may be a total of multiple claims. The Retiree can click on Learn more to view details of the claim. If a Retiree is enrolled in direct deposit, they will receive the reimbursement directly in to their checking or savings account. Otherwise PayFlex will mail a check to the Retiree. NOTE: FSA and debit card links on the left side are standard content and not customizable even though they don t apply for DTE (this applies for all the slides / screens with this content); To view claim history, the Retiree would select the Financial Center tab at the top of the page. The next slide will show a screenshot of the Financial Center. 4
Financial Center: To view this page, the Retiree would click on the Financial Center tab and select their RRA from the drop down menu (next to Select Account). Here they would see a summary of their RRA which includes dollar amounts for their balance, deposits, as well as paid and denied claims. In the middle of the screen, the Retiree will see their 5 most recent claims. This includes claims that were submitted online, by fax or mail. - Amount Paid to Date only applies to claims that were submitted to pay a health care provider directly. This is done through our Pay Them feature. - If a claim is a denied, the Retiree will see a dollar amount in the Denied Amount column. If there is no amount in the denied column, then the claim has been approved for payment. To view additional claim history, the Retiree would select View All Claims. At the bottom of the page, the Retiree will see their 5 most recent transactions. This includes any claims that were paid directly to their health care provider using our Pay Them feature. It may also show any deposits made to their RRA. To view additional transaction history, the Retiree would select View All Transactions. In the Financial Center, the Retiree also has access to additional tools which will be discussed next. 5
In the Financial Center, on the left hand side, the Retiree can: - Use the File a Spending Account Claim feature - Appeal a claim, if a claim has been denied. - And Enroll in direct deposit for their claim payments. Next we ll discuss the File a Spending Account Claim feature. 6
File a Claim Select Pay Me or Pay Them If a Retiree has paid for an eligible expense with cash, check or personal credit card, they can submit a claim online to get reimbursed. First, they would select File a Spending Account Claim and then click on Pay Me. If a Retiree has received a bill for an eligible health care expense or an insurance premium, they can use the Pay Them feature to pay their provider or insurance carrier from their RRA. 7
File a Claim Pay Me This is the Pay Me feature which allows the Retiree to submit a claim for an eligible expense that was paid for out of their own pocket. Once they select Pay Me, they must complete 4 quick steps. They can submit multiple claims at one time, using the button Add Another Expense. During this 4 step process, the Retiree will need to upload supporting documentation in PDF or they have the option to create a fax coversheet and fax their documentation to PayFlex. Once PayFlex receives and process the claim, the Retiree will be notified whether the claim has been approved or denied for payment. They will receive a notification called an Explanation of Payment. If they don t sign up to receive by email through My Settings, we will mail it to them. File a Claim Pay Them If a Retiree receives medical care and wants to use their RRA to pay for an eligible health care expense or pay for their insurance premiums, they can use the Pay Them feature to pay their provider or insurance carrier directly from their RRA. They will need to have the payee s name, address and phone number as well the amount they owe. This tool should be used AFTER the Retiree receives the care and AFTER they receive a statement from insurance showing the amount they owe. Once the Retiree completes the required fields, PayFlex will process the request and issue a check to the provider. 9
Appeal a Claim If a Retiree has a claim that is denied and they feel it should have been approved, they have the ability to appeal their claim through this website. They simply select the claim they would like to appeal, provide a reason for the appeal and upload documentation to support their appeal. 10
Enroll in Direct Deposit To get claim payments quicker, a Retiree can enroll in direct deposit online. First select the Financial Center tab at the top of the page and then select Enroll in Direct Deposit. They must enter their bank account type (checking or savings). Enter an account number and routing number. The Institution name should populate for them. Once they confirm their bank account information, future claim payments will be deposited directly into their respective account. If a Retiree does NOT enroll in direct deposit, PayFlex will mail a check to them. 11
Benefits Center: To view this page, select Benefits Center at the top of the page. This is more of a value added tool where the Retiree can enter their own health plan information. It allows the Retiree to store all of their information in one place. Note: This information is NOT populated by PayFlex. The information shown here is simply for illustrative purposes. 12
My Resources The Retiree can access administrative forms from the Resource Center. There are 2 ways to access this information select Resource Center tab or select My Resources from Quick Links. On this page, the Retiree can download a Direct Deposit form and Letter of Medical Necessity Form. This page is NOT customizable for DTE, so the Retiree will also see other resources that may not apply to their RRA. 13

My Settings > Notifications To help a Retiree stay up to date on their account, we have a variety of account notifications available. The Retiree would select My Settings from the top of the page and then click on Notifications / Email Address. Then simply enter their email address and phone number (if desired) and select the notifications they wish to receive. A Retiree can sign up to receive quarterly or monthly updates on their balance. They can also receive a notification when their claim has been received by PayFlex. Lastly - when PayFlex processes a Retiree s claim, PayFlex sends an Explanation of Payment notification. This EOP lets the Retiree know if their claim is approved or denied for payment. If they want to receive this by e-mail instead of mail, they can make that election on this page. Once they select their notifications all they have to do is click Submit. They can change their preferences at any time. 15
PayFlex Mobile Retirees can also use the PayFlex Mobile app to stay connected to their RRA. The app is free and available for iphone, ipad and Android smartphones. The Retiree can view their balance, claim history and even submit claims through the app. This website page simply explains what the app can do and how to get started. Once the Retiree downloads the app from their app store, they will login with the same username and password created for the PayFlex website. 16
Contact Us If a Retiree has additional questions about their RRA, they can find the Customer Service number and hours of operations by selecting Contact Us at the top of the page. They will also see the PayFlex fax number and mailing addresses. 17
