Methodology of Industry Group Indices and e Industry Indicess To measure the performancee of sectors of e index and to provide analysis tools for investors, developed the industry group indices and industry indicess by allocating all stocks of the same industry group or industry into different industry and industry group. industry total return indices are derivative indices of the industry indices. The calculation of industry total return indices takes the reinvestment of constituent dividends into consideration, which enables investorss to measure index performance from a different angle. 1. Eligibility 3.1 Universe Constituents of the. 3.2 Constituents Selection First, Classify constituents of the industry groups, industries and sub-industries. Second, For that industries consist lesss than or equal to 50 stocks enter into the industry index. into different stocks, alll the Third, for industriess that consist more than 50 stocks: Rankk the stocks in each industry by daily average trading value and daily averagee total market capitalization respectively in descending order; Delete the stockss at the bottom 10% by trading value and stocks at the bottom 2% byy cumulative market cap, and if the number of stocks decreases to 50, the deletion d process will be
terminated; The remaining stocks enter into the industry index. 4. Calculations The index is weighted as the following calculation formula: f Current = Current Total Adjusted Market-Cap p / Divisor Base Level L Where Current Total Adjusted Market-Cap = (Stock Price Free Float Adjusted Shares Weight Factor) Number of For the calculation of number of free float adjustedd shares, please refer to Calculation and Maintenanc ce Methodology for further details. If the constituent number of the industry index is between 10 and 49, the weight of individual constituent is capped at 15%. If the constituent number of the industry index is more than 49, the weight of individual constituent is capped at 10% %. If the constituent number of the industry index iss less than 10, no weight capping is adopted. 5. Constituents and Weights 5.1 Constituent s Periodical Review The index is adjusted and rebalanced twice a year and the adjustmentt will be effective as of the next trading day after the 2 nd Friday in June and December. Weight Factor is assigned too each constituent att each rebalancing. The effective date is the same as that of the constituent adjustment. The Weight Factor stays the same until next rebalancing day. 5.2 Ongoing Review In case that the epresentativeness and investability is affected due to significant changes beyond periodical reviews, may review the constituent stocks immediately. Delisted stocks will be deleted from thee constituents.
