Format: PDF only Introduction to Estate Planning and Charitable Giving This orientation course highlights concepts and strategies used in meeting various estate planning and charitable giving objectives, paying special attention to tax issues. Format: PDF only Life and Health Life and Health are designed for easy learning of key life and health insurance concepts such as types of coverage, applications, policies, provisions, taxation, ethics, and much more. These books are the foundation for our prelicensing courses and, combined with the appropriate State Supplement, provide solid preparation for any student seeking a life/health license. Life Underwriting Foundations Foundations is a basic life insurance skills and knowledge course designed for pre-contract training or as the primary study material for newly contracted agents. Foundations includes the role of life insurance, the life underwriter s role, fundamental product knowledge, basic needs, and basic selling skills. Long-Term Care Manual This broad course clearly explains the ever-increasing need for long-term care insurance and how it fits in with Medicare and Medicaid. There is a focus on ethics, determining and meeting client needs, and addressing client concerns. This interactive course examines how a producer can help clients of any age address retirement planning goals and needs. The course covers topics such as estimating income needs, inflation, determining income sources, social security, qualified plans, life insurance, taxation, income streams, and health and long-term care insurance. Format: Online Course (Target Ethics Online), Textbook or PDF Total Needs Approach to Insurance Planning This course examines two common total needs approaches for determining how much life insurance a client needs: capital liquidation (exhausting capital over a lifetime) and capital retention (retaining capital for subsequent generations). Includes numerous case studies. Variable Annuities Training This course shows how variable annuities work and explores the features that make them unique. The course also examines the more complex issues associated with selling variable annuities, such as risk and investment concepts, compliance issues, and taxation. Variable Universal Life This course explains how and why VUL is unique among life insurance products and explores the market for VUL among individuals and businesses. Mail or fax your completed test or score sheet to PGI s Grading Department. You will successfully complete the course if you receive a score of 70% or better. (Online exams may be taken as many times as needed to achieve a 70% or better; paper exams will be forwarded to you for a second attempt. With either method, be sure to follow any monitor requirements your state may have in place.) Upon successful completion, we will mail a Certificate of Completion to you. If you are using the course(s) to meet a state continuing education requirement, follow the instructions which will be included with your certificate. Some states require you to retain the Certificate, while others ask you to forward it to the Department of Insurance. Students are responsible for obtaining Certification prior to state deadlines. Copies of all correspondence, certificates, and exams are retained by PGI for use by the State Insurance Departments upon their request.
