2019-20 CSS Profile Comprehensive Question and Instruction Listing Below are all of the questions that may be found on a CSS Profile application. As the application is adapted to the applicant s situation and utilizes skip logic, applicants will not be asked all of the questions shown here. This document is for reference only. It should not be used in place of the online CSS Profile application. If the College Board receives a copy of this document, it will be destroyed. Question GETTING STARTED About the Student This section asks for important information about the student. First name The student's first name as it appears on legal documents (i.e. birth certificate, passport). Middle name The student's middle name as it appears on legal documents (i.e. birth certificate, passport). Last name The student's last (family) name as it appears on legal documents (i.e. birth certificate, passport). Preferred name The first name the student prefers to be called. Email address An email address the student checks regularly, is active, and that the student will keep. This is important because the College Board will send information about the financial aid process to this email address. Be sure the student's email address can receive email from the College Board by adding our domain name, collegeboard.org, to the list of enabled mail senders. Phone number (##########) Birthdate (MM/DD/YYYY) Student's marital status Married or in a domestic partnership Remarried Never married Separated Divorced or no longer in a domestic partnership Widowed Student's CBFinAid ID Enter the student's telephone number as digits only. Answer "Yes" if the student is an unaccompanied youth who is or was homeless or at risk of being homeless. -- "Homeless" means the student lacks fixed, regular and adequate housing (living in shelters, parks, motels or cars or living temporarily with other people because the student has nowhere else to go) -- "Unaccompanied" means the student is not living in the physical custody of the student's parents -- "Youth" means that the student is 23 years of age or younger or the student is still enrolled in high school as of the date of the application Homeless At any time on or after July 1, 2018, did the student's high school or school district homeless liaison determine that the student was an unaccompanied youth who was homeless or was self-supporting and at risk of being homeless?
