Credit/Debit card payments may be subject to firm approval. Reminders Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Available for all modes, including monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual payments. Available as a one-time draft to satisfy the outstanding balance due for expedited policy placement. The EFT form can be submitted, in lieu of a premium check, to obtain the balance due. Per Diem Limit for 2019 Reminder The Per Diem Limit is the maximum daily benefit used for determining certain benefits under the Lincoln LifeEnhance Accelerated Benefits Rider and Lincoln LifeAssure Accelerated Benefits Rider. Lincoln will use the limit in effect at the beginning of each Benefit Period for the entire Benefit Period. The Internal Revenue Service established this limit annually on January 1 st. The Per Diem Limit for 2019 will be $370 which is an increase of $10 from the 2018 rate. Availability of Lincoln WealthAdvantage Indexed UL extended Reprinted from the Lincoln Life Leader, December 10, 2018 Lincoln previously announced that Lincoln WealthAccumulate SM IUL (2018) will replace Lincoln WealthAdvantage Indexed UL on the later of December 31, 2018 or 60 days from state availability of Lincoln WealthAccumulate SM IUL (2018). As there continues to be some sales designs where Lincoln WealthAdvantage Indexed UL provides a meaningful solution, we are pleased to extend the transition period for Lincoln WealthAdvantage Indexed UL to April 30, 2019. Updated IRS Form 4506T-EZ - Effective January 1, 2019 Reprinted from the Lincoln Life Leader, December 10, 2018 The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) recently implemented an updated version of the Short Form Request for Individual Tax Return Transcript Form 4506T-EZ (revised September 2018). Effective January 1, 2019, only the new September 2018 version of Form 4506T-EZ will be accepted by the IRS to initiate a request for an Individual Tax Return Transcript. The new form is now available on the Lincoln Forms Tool and can be accessed here. What s New? The transcripts provided by the IRS have been modified to protect taxpayers' privacy. Transcripts only display partial personal information, such as the last four digits of the taxpayer's Social Security Number. Full financial and tax information, such as wages and taxable income, is shown on the transcript. A new optional Customer File Number field is available to use when requesting a transcript. Please leave this field BLANK when submitting the form to Lincoln. It will be completed by NCS TRV PROCESSING with the assigned Policy Number of the case. See sample next page. Form Sample: When is this form required by Lincoln? For all life insurance cases meeting the following criteria, the IRS Form 4506T-EZ (revised September 2018) will be required and Lincoln Underwriting will initiate the vendor request for the Individual Tax Return Transcript: Ages 26 to 69 $10 million and up Ages 70 to 75 $2.5 million and up Ages 76 to 80 $2 million and up Ages 81 to 85 $1 million and up Premium financing cases All ages and amounts For Agent/Broker use only. Please note that for any amount, Lincoln Underwriting may require financial documentation, such as income tax returns, third party verification of net worth, or copies of estate planning materials prepared and provided to support the case design and amount applied for. What you need to know Effective on and after January 1, 2019, the IRS will only accept requests for an Individual Tax Return Transcript from submission of the updated Form 4506T-EZ (revised September 2018). If an older version of Form 4506T-EZ has been submitted to Lincoln and Underwriting has not ordered the Individual Tax Return by close of business on December 31, 2018, the updated version must be completed and signed by the Insured prior to Lincoln submitting the request to the IRS. The Form 4506T-EZ (September 2018) can be accessed and downloaded from the Lincoln Forms Tool by clicking here. For any application submitted through the ipipeline eapp platform, the updated version of Form 4506T- EZ will be live on December 19, 2018. New user experience survey added to Chat with Us In July 2018, Lincoln Underwriting and New Business introduced Chat with Us, a new way for our partners to communicate with a New Business Associate (NBA) on pending cases. This feature enables our partners to chat in real-time with a Lincoln NBA through Lincoln s pending website to obtain answers on administrative questions for a specific case, without having to pick up the phone or send an email. Beginning December 17, 2018, users will now have an option to complete a quick survey at the end of their chat session. The new survey will enable users to provide specific feedback and rate their overall experience of the chat session. Obtaining feedback is very important to us and will be taken into consideration for future enhancements to continue improving the user experience. What to expect When the user selects End Chat at the end of the session, the updated Thank You window will display the following options: Send Transcript Button enter an email address to receive a copy of the chat transcript Feedback Link provides users an opportunity to give feedback on the chat experience Close Button offers an option to close the window without taking any action For Agent/Broker use only. Effective immediately through January 31, 2019, for any Voya individual life insurance policy not yet placed: Lincoln will start the Underwriting process for a new Lincoln fixed life insurance policy upon receipt of a Voya Individual Life Insurance Application, Voya Agent s Report and Lincoln required forms identified below Lincoln will consider a match of Voya s underwriting offer for issued cases meeting certain criteria These considerations expand upon Lincoln s current process to accept items such as labs and medical records from other companies to initiate the Underwriting process. Please note, that Lincoln will prepare and issue the policy with a Lincoln Individual Life Insurance Application and Amendment and signatures will be required upon policy delivery. For VUL cases fully underwritten at standard or better and placed between October 8, 2018 and December 31, 2018, Lincoln is offering a one-class underwriting upgrade. Medical Exam Requests Best Practices for Year-End Reprinted from the Lincoln Life Leader, November 26, 2018 As we enter the last few weeks of 2018, it s important that requests for medical requirements are accurate and done in a timely manner to help avoid any year-end delays. The following best practices will help to ensure that the correct medical testing is conducted in a timely manner for Underwriting purposes: Ensure the Face Amount provided to the exam vendor matches the actual amount applied for on the Lincoln application. Submit the request for medical requirement to the Exam Vendor up-front during the application process. Work with your client to ensure the appointment is scheduled and exams are completed in a timely manner. Exam Vendors are required to adhere to Lincoln s Age/Face Guidelines when completing exams. No changes may be made without prior approval directly from Lincoln. Please note: For Lincoln TermAccel and LincXpress Tele-App submissions, Lincoln will order labs, if required. For any case being submitted through the LincXpress Tele-App process if labs are requested, the case would not be eligible for lab-free consideration. 2018 End of Year Commitment and Guidelines Underwriting & New Business Lincoln s Underwriting & New Business department is committed to helping you meet your year-end goals and objectives. Our focus is to ensure the maximum amount of your business is placed by close of business on December 31, 2018. To assist in placing year end business, we encourage you to submit outstanding requirements as early in December as possible. Key Dates and Deadlines Beginning October 1 Overnight Guidelines for 1035 proceeds: Beginning on 10/1/2018, any 1035 Exchange that has a target premium of $5K+ and/or expected 1035 proceeds of $7.5K+ will be requested to overnight the check to Lincoln Beginning October 1 Lincoln will begin mailing all paper policy prints via overnight delivery through end of End of 2018 2018 November 1 Submit end of year 1035 Exchange applications to allow for underwriting and retrieval of 1035 funds (subject to losing carrier turn-around times) December 3 Submit new applications, tickets and paperwork in-good-order by this date to allow enough time to underwrite and obtain documents to place for year-end closing (excludes 1035 Exchanges) December 21 All policies must be placed in-force to meet the 2018 commission deadline and be considered 2018 income December 25 Christmas/Company Holiday December 27 All premium(s) and delivery requirements must be received by Lincoln, in-good-order, to ensure placement of your policy December 31 Underwriting and New Business teams will work a full business day to support your business needs Helpful Hints & Reminders Always include special instructions on a cover sheet. Complete application and applicable forms in their entirety and remember to include the agent s page with agent code to be used for placement. Please use the latest state version of the application and forms that can be obtained on the Lincoln producer website. Remember to get signatures and dates on all forms. Trust/Corporate owned policies do require that the trustee/officer sign with their title. The Replacement Notice [Form 33503] must be signed on or before the application signature date. For LincXpress submissions, the Replacement Form must be signed on or before the earliest solicitation signature date. Include in-good-order EFT forms for all bank draft cases and note on the coversheet if the first premium will be drafted. Ordering medical requirements up-front saves significant processing time. Utilize Lincoln s LincXpress Tele-App, eapp, and/or edelivery to help expedite processing from submission to placement. (LincXpress Tele-App can be used for New Business submissions only not applicable for Internal Exchanges). Suitability review for VUL can take time. Send all VUL forms through your OBD or LFSC rep for suitability review as soon as possible. 1035 Follow-Up Calls: Initial calls will be made 2 to 3 business days after exchange has been initiated.
