Guest speakers Suzana Sarif Senior Assistant Director of Customs, GST Division Royal Malaysian Customs Department Suzana Sarif has 22 years of experience in the management, import/export, audit and GST section in the Royal Malaysian Customs Department. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons)-UiTM/Ohio University, Athens, USA and also a Master of Public Finance -National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies, Tokyo, Japan. Jason Tan Tax Lawyer, Lee Hishammuddin Allen & Gledhill Jason Tan is a tax lawyer with Lee Hishammuddin Allen & Gledhill s dynamic Tax, GST and Private Clients Practice. The firm s tax team is ranked as a Tier 1 practice by Asia Pacific s Legal 500. Jason read law at Cardiff University and is a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln s Inn. Together with the firm s tax partners, Datuk D.P. Naban and Mr S. Saravana Kumar, Jason appeared as junior counsel in various direct and indirect tax disputes before the Special Commissioners of Income Tax, High Court and Court of Appeal. Jason also specialises in Customs disputes and trade facilitation as the firm s expertise in this area has been highly sought after by major multi-national corporations, financial institutions and trade association bodies. Robert Tsang Asia Pacific Indirect Tax Leader Robert is the Head of the Deloitte Indirect Tax practice for Asia Pacific. He is experienced in dealing with indirect tax issues around the globe, and draws specifically on work he has done in Greater China and in the European Union. He specialises in helping companies to manage tax risks arising from cross-border operations. Ng Lan Kheng Executive Director Lan Kheng is an Executive Director of Deloitte Malaysia. With experience in taxation in Australia and Malaysia, she has provided advisory and consultancy on direct and indirect taxes including GST implementation, transfer pricing, tax investigation and tax due diligence services to a wide spectrum of multinational and local corporations. She has also advised on individual tax planning and compliance matters as well as immigration solutions for international employees. Lan Kheng is a chartered accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA), a chartered accountant of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) and also a fellow member of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM). Tan Hooi Beng International Tax Leader Hooi Beng is the Business Model Optimisation and International Tax Leader of Deloitte Malaysia. He has more than 14 years of experience in corporate and international tax. He has vast experience in advising multinational corporations on corporate structuring and restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, tax-efficient financing, international offshore financial centres, business model optimisation, tax treaties and crossborder taxation. Hooi Beng is an associate member of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM), a chartered accountant of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) as well as a licensed tax agent under the Malaysian Income Tax Act, 1967. He holds a Bachelor of Accounting from the University of Malaysia. An avid writer and speaker, he regularly contributes thought leadership in print media and speaking engagements. Hisham Halim Transfer Pricing Executive Director Hisham is an Executive Director of Deloitte Malaysia based in Kuala Lumpur. Hisham specialises in transfer pricing, supply chain and business model optimisation and government incentives. He has extensive experience in a wide range of transfer pricing documentation and planning projects, and audits for large multinational clients spanning various industries, including energy and oil & gas. Everlyn Lee Suan Sim Tax Director Everlyn is a Tax Director with Deloitte Tax Services Sdn. Bhd.. She has extensive experience in both audit and tax in public practice handling corporate and personal taxation, tax planning, tax due diligence, transfer pricing and indirect taxes including GST implementation. She has also advised on personal tax planning and compliance matters as well as immigration solutions for international assignees under the Global Employer Services (GES) service line. Everlyn is a chartered accountant of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) and also a member of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM). She also holds a tax agent licence under the Income Tax Act 1967. Au Yeong Pui Nee Associate Director, Tax Pui Nee has more than 14 years of experience in taxation in Malaysia. Based in Penang, her specialisation is in Malaysian individual tax planning and compliance services for international assignees under the Global Employer Services (GES) service line. She is a member of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM). 6
