Trade & Commerce Asia Pacific Speaker Bios Anne Petterd Australia Vivian Wu China Anne Petterd is a partner in the Technology, Communications & Commercial team at Baker & McKenzie, Sydney. Anne advises clients on technology, telecommunications, customs and export controls, consumer and commercial law issues, and much of her practice involves defence and government procurement. Anne is also the president of the New South Wales Society for Computers. Vivian Wu is a special counsel based in Baker & McKenzie s Beijing office and a member of the Firm s Corporate group. She has extensive experience in regulatory and compliance, foreign direct investment, and mergers and acquisitions. She is qualified by the National Bar Association of China and the New York State Bar Association. Ms. Wu s practice focuses on anti-bribery, antitrust regulatory and compliance issues, as well as other general corporate matters such as the establishment of joint ventures, foreign wholly owned enterprises, and share or asset acquisitions. Frank Pan China Isabella Liu Frank Pan works in a broad range of trade actions, including advising various multinational companies on trade law compliance, transfer pricing, indirect tax optimization and other PRC regulatory, tax and customs issues related to supply chain planning and managing disputes with PRC Customs. Before joining Baker & McKenzie, Frank had been an associate and subsequently junior partner with a boutique PRC trade law firm for eight years, specializing in inbound and outbound trade remedy cases before the authorities of various jurisdictions. Dr. Isabella Liu has nearly a decade of experience advising clients in various industries on all matters relating to the creation, exploitation and protection of intellectual property rights. Will Marshall Anne Peng William Marshall is a partner in the /China Taxation Practice Group. Paolo Sbuttoni Mochamad Fachri Indonesia Paolo Sbuttoni is a special counsel in the office of Baker & McKenzie and a member of the firm s IT & Communications Practice Group. He focuses on technology agreements and transactions, e-commerce, telecommunications regulatory matters, and data privacy. Mr. Sbuttoni has presented on a number of topics relevant to his field including cloud computing contracts, data privacy, and social media. Mochamad Fachri works on a broad range of corporate tax planning matters in Indonesia. He is registered as an advocate with the Jakarta High Court and as a legal counsel at the Indonesian Tax Court. Additionally, Mr. Fachri serves as member of the Indonesian Advocates Association (PERADI) and the Indonesian Bar Association (IKADIN). Ed Whatley Japan Kana Itabashi Japan Edwin Whatley leads the Firm s Tax Practice Group in Tokyo and is highly experienced in both US and Japanese tax law. Meng Yew Wong Malaysia Ola Borge Myanmar Wong Meng Yew is a partner in the Tax Practice Group. Prior to focusing on tax and trade matters, Mr. Wong was part of the civil and commercial litigation practice in the Firm. He has also worked in the Firm s office. Ola has 15 years of experience in international tax as a tax and legal advisor. Jasper Helder Netherlands Ronald Bernas Philippines Jasper Helder is experienced in international trade, export controls, economic sanctions and customs. Frederick Burke has over 20 years experience practicing in the area of corporate law.
