Poppies will be distributed on Thursday, November 10 prior to our Remembrance Day Assembly. Any donations will be gratefully accepted and can be sent to school with your child(ren) during the week of November 7th. Thank you for your support! GRADE 5 GET ACTIVE PROGRAM: With their Get Active card, Grade 5 students will have FREE access to all drop-in recreation programs offered by the NW Parks and Recreation Department for their Grade 5 year. This program is in effect from October 1, 2016 until September 4, 2017. To qualify for the Get Active card students must be of Grade 5 age (born Jan. 2006 Dec. 2006) and live in New Westminster and/or attend school in New Westminster. If you need more information please e-mail Sandy Earle the NW Parks and Recreation Active Programmer at searle@newwestcity.ca Please remember students go outside for fresh air RAIN or SHINE! during recess, and lunch. Please ensure your children are dressed appropriately for the weather.

Congratulations : To the students of Spencer for raising $826.00 for the Terry Fox Run. A job well done! Report Cards: First Term Report Cards go home on Friday, December 9th. Please sign and return the envelope to the school so that it can be reused for term 2 reports. The report card is yours to keep. PHOTO RETAKES Photo retakes will be taken on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 If your child will be absent from school or is expected late PLEASE call the school office at 604-517-6030. Advising the classroom teacher is helpful, but the office staff should be advised as well in case of teacher absences. Visitors Please remember to sign in at the office when entering the school. Safety for all is a concern, and one which we will continue to focus on we want to be aware of the adults in the building and identifying yourself with one of our Visitor badges is helpful to staff who may not know you. Thank you to all our families for once again supporting our book fair. We had an amazing turnout and received many books for our classrooms and library. MERCI!

Halloween Dance/Event The Halloween Fun Night was a huge success and a whole lot of fun! Many thanks to the PAC and all the volunteers for making this event happen. We raised over $1000 to help support various school events and programs. Thank you to all who supported our event. Halloween Event 50/50 We are looking for the winner of our jackpot. Ticket # 0518167 Please claim your prize at the office. Our final profits from this event are still being finalized. Upcoming PAC Events: Fundraising Fall Programs Card Project is open to order on line now. (See attached flyer on next page) We receive 50% of all sales. Final order deadline Nov.20th DFS Fundraiser Catalogue Program A package was sent home with your child yesterday to look through. Great holiday treats, stocking stuffers and gourmet gift ideas. We receive up to 50% of all sales made. Order forms due back to the teacher by NOV.13 th or On-Line orders due NOV.13 th Gift Cards Order forms were distributed last Friday. Great Bonus cards and increased % kickbacks to the school. Order forms will be due back NOV.16 th Craft Fair Nov.26 th All Vendor Tables are SOLD OUT We also have the largest number of kid crafters participating this year. We will be distributing an email for volunteer soon. Please consider helping out in some way as this is our second largest fundraiser of the year. Bake Sale & Bistro Nov.26 th During the craft fair we have one of the best Bake Sales in the city We will be requesting baked goods for the bake sale and bistro in the coming weeks. Help us fill the tables with your favorite holiday treats.
