For extras, we ve negotiated discounted rates to help control your costs. You can claim 55%, 70%, 85% or 100% back (up to annual limits) on extras when you visit one of 10,000+ Members Choice providers. Feel at home about going to hospital The arrangements we ve secured with Members Choice hospitals means you receive great quality healthcare and you will benefit with less or no gap to pay compared to non Members Choice hospitals*. Even if you go to a Members Choice hospital, you re still likely to have out-of-pocket expenses. The hospital and doctors treating you should tell you about their costs before you go to hospital so it s important to ask. Give us a call on 132 331 before you go to hospital so we can help you ask the right sort of questions. *Subject to the hospital you attend having agreed to provide Medibank members with reduced rates for the service you require, and the service is included as part of your cover. With hospital cover, it s important to know that waiting periods and excesses apply to some of our covers and have services that are restricted or excluded. No cosmetic surgeries or procedures are covered by Medibank. For important information on our covers, please read the Did you know? brochure.

Feel comfortable about charges For extras services including dental, chiro, physio, podiatry, acupuncture, naturopathy and remedial massage, we ve set maximums on what Members Choice providers can charge. So you ll avoid any surprises when the bill arrives. For example, here s how it works for Elizabeth who lives in Queensland, has Basic Extras 70, and visits a Members Choice physiotherapist for a subsequent consultation: Members Choice provider Charge $62.00 (max charge) Non Members Choice provider $71.50* Benefit payable # (% back or fixed benefit) 70% of charge back ($43.40) $40.60 Out-of-pocket expenses $18.60 $30.90 *Most common charge in QLD for a subsequent physio consultation for Non Members Choice providers for claims during January 2013 (processed on or before 31 January 2013). # Subject to annual limits and waiting periods.
