As a mother-to-be, you hope and dream that the child in your womb will be safe, healthy, and happy. You re not alone - we re here with you to support that dream.

Are you expecting? First comes the excitement, followed by immediate worry. Have you come across these statistics before? Let s build a starter-kit for your little one! One of the best ways to save enough for your child s education is through regular investments, and we understand that the higher education necessary for their future can be costly. Financial protection features in child plans ensure that your child gets the best in the future even in your absence. What would be your top priorities for your little one s starter-kit? Pregnancy complications Juvenile Critical Illnesses Education Fund Medical & Hospitalisation Fees Critical Illness Accidental Coverage Death and Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) 1 of parent 1 TPD coverage is available prior to the Policy Anniversary Date of age 70. Infants The Malaysian Ministry of Health has reported that 12.3 percent of,000 babies are born prematurely* each year in Malaysia, while the Singapore Medical Journal also found an incidence of 2.59 per 1,000 babies in Malaysia being admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for perinatal asphyxia# (deprivation of oxygen which causes physical damage). Pregnancy Complications The risk of obstetric embolism (which includes amniotic fluid embolism - amniotic fluid entering the blood stream of the mother) has been recorded to be the highest risk to cause maternal deaths (23.0 percent).^ Toddler Under Five Years Old Some of the causes of death of toddlers under 5 years old are transport accidents and accidental drowning & submersion.^ Sources: ^ Statistics on Causes of Death, Malaysia, 2017 by Department of Statistics Malaysia * http://www.theborneopost.com/2014/11/17/12-3-per-cent-babies-born-premature-in-msia-yearly-health-ministry/ # https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/pmc4993971/

10 weeks of 12 weeks of pregnancy pregnancy Emily is a healthy, n o n - s m o k i n g, soon-to-be mother who will be turning 30 on her next birthday. She is expecting her first child. Like any other mother, she found pregnancy to be a happy but stressful time. Pregnancy Complications and Congenital Illnesses Infant Care Plus covers Emily and her child for selected pregnancy complications and also in the event of their passing away. Medical reimbursement due to selected congenital illnesses is also covered. This rider terminates when Emily s child attains age 5. 14 weeks of pregnancy First rule of parenting: Your love should protect till the end Here is an example you could refer to before purchasing your child's insurance policy. She came across PRUmy child plus, an insurance solution for prenatal children and decided to get her unborn baby insured. Together with her Prudential agent, they customised a solution for her unborn baby with just RM250 per month. Policy Incepted Juvenile Critical Illness Until age 25, Essential Child Plus provides Critical Illness coverage relevant to the needs of Emily s child as it focuses on child-prone conditions. Child Birth Basic Protection PRUwith you provides a lump sum benefit in the event of death/total and Permanent Disability (TPD) 1 of Emily s child. 2 nd Child After 3 years Easy And Simple Enrolment (EASE) 2 After 3 years, Emily is planning for a second child. Given that Emily has already had a fully underwritten policy with us while she was pregnant and that she is still healthy, the policy for her next child can be offered with EASE 2. Education Fund Payout To supplement her child s education, PRUsaver kid will payout a lump sum of savings that Emily has accumulated throughout the length of this policy. The more Emily puts aside for this, the higher the amount she can expect to be paid out. 18 years old Education Fund PRUsaver kid payout for the child s education Hospitalisation PRUvalue med provides medical reimbursement with no lifetime limits for Emily s child in the event of hospitalisation. Adult Critical Illness Crisis Care will replace Essential Child Plus to provide 36 relevant adult Critical Illness coverage when Emily s child attains age 25. Accident Acci Guard Plus and Acci Med Plus provide lump sum benefit and medical reimbursement benefit in the event of her child s disability due to accidental causes respectively. Policy Protection Parent Payor Basic and Saver will pay this policy s premiums if Emily passes away, experiences TPD 1, or Critical Illness and will cease when her child attains age 25. Payor Basic and Saver will then continue to protect this policy in the event of TPD 1 or Critical Illness of Emily s child. Emily s child takes over as Policy Owner 25 years old 1 TPD coverage is available prior to the Policy Anniversary Date of age 70. 2 Terms and Conditions apply.

PRUmy child plus PRUmy child plus Life Assured: Emily s child, Female Non-Smoker, prenatal Policy Owner: Emily, Female Non-Smoker, age 30 Package Annual Premium: RM3,000 (age 70 sustainability option) Fund Selection: % PRUlink managed fund II BASIC PLAN RIDERS PRUwith you Basic Sum Assured RM,000 RM,000 will be paid out in one lump sum in the event of death/ TPD 1 3 of Emily s child. The TPD 1 coverage is important as it would provide some financial cushion in the unfortunate event of TPD 1 of her child. The death coverage will become very meaningful in the future as this policy will be vested to the child at age 25, at which time the child will become the owner of this policy. Infant Care Plus Plan 2 This rider covers Emily with Pregnancy Care benefits and her child with Child Care benefits. Under Pregnancy Care benefit, RM5,000 will be paid out for the first occurrence of any covered pregnancy complications. A lump sum amount will also be paid out in the event of death of the foetus or mother. Among other coverages, Child Care benefit will pay RM daily for incubation 4 of the child. Medical reimbursement due to child s congenital conditions 5 is covered to complement the coverage from the medical plan. RM1,000 will be paid upon diagnosis of Infectious Diseases such as Severe Measles, Typhoid Fever, and Severe Hand Food Mouth Disease. Essential Child Plus Rider Sum Assured RM,000 Essential Child Plus will pay a percentage of the Rider Sum Assured upon diagnosis of a covered child-specified illness and the prevailing Rider Sum Assured will be converted to Crisis Care upon policy anniversary when Emily s child attains age 25 next birthday. PRUvalue med Room & Board, Med Value Point RM1 million and Med Saver PRUvalue med reimburses Emily s child s medical expenses according to the selected benefits in the event of hospitalisation or outpatient treatment due to illness or injury. Acci Guard Plus Rider Sum Assured RM,000 Acci Guard Plus will pay the Rider Sum Assured on death or TPD 1 due to accident or a percentage of the sum assured on disablement due to accident before policy anniversary of age 70 next birthday. In addition, the rider also pays compassionate benefit upon death. Acci Med Plus Rider Sum Assured RM5,000 Acci Med Plus reimburses the actual expenses incurred for medical treatment, hospital confinement or nursing services due to accident before policy anniversary of age 70 next birthday up to the Rider Sum Assured within 104 weeks from the date of accident. It also reimburses the actual expenses for traditional & complementary treatment, up to RM1,, incurred within 90 days from the date of accident. In addition, it also pays overseas companion allowance and prosthesis/wheelchair allowance. PRUsaver kid Annual Premium RM The payout at age 18 is projected to be RM12,527 under high and RM7,872 under low investment returns scenario respectively. More premium can be directed to PRUsaver kid for the chance of a higher expected payout. RIDERS Payor Basic Rider Sum Assured RM2, Payor Basic pays the Insurance Premium throughout the rider benefit term upon Emily s child suffering from TPD 1 before policy anniversary of age 70 next birthday or diagnosis of a covered Critical Illness. Payor Saver Rider Sum Assured RM Payor Saver pays the Investment Premium throughout the rider benefit term upon Emily s child suffering from TPD 1 before policy anniversary of age 70 next birthday or diagnosis of a covered Critical Illness. Parent Payor Basic Rider Sum Assured RM2, Parent Payor Basic pays the Insurance Premium throughout the rider benefit term upon Emily suffering from TPD 1 before policy anniversary age 70 next birthday, death or diagnosis of a covered Critical Illness. Parent Payor Saver Rider Sum Assured RM Parent Payor Saver pays the Investment Premium throughout the rider benefit term upon Emily suffering from TPD 1 before policy anniversary age 70 next birthday, death or diagnosis of a covered Critical Illness. Considering Emily has already been fully underwritten for this policy and did not have any material change in her health status, we would be able to offer Emily s future children coverage with EASE 2. This cuts through the hassle of obtaining more medical test results that would be required at underwriting. NOTES: The premium shown here is for a 14-week-old foetus with a healthy 30-year-old non-smoking mother. The required premiums may differ based on the customer profile and also amount of coverage purchased. Illustration for PRUlink managed fund II is based on a high projected investment return scenario of 8.0% p.a. for the first 20 years and 5.5% p.a. thereafter and a low projected investment return scenario of 3.0% p.a. throughout. The projected values are for illustrative purposes only. These values are neither guaranteed nor based on past performance of the investment-linked funds. 1 TPD coverage is available prior to the Policy Anniversary Date of age 70. 2 Easy And Simple Enrolment. Terms and Conditions apply. 3 In the event of a claim arising from TPD or death on life of the child before age 5 next birthday, the amount of Basic Sum Assured paid out will be subjected to Juvenile Lien as specified in the Policy Document. 4 This benefit amount for daily incubation is only payable for the first 60 days from the child s date of birth. 5 The medical reimbursement due to congenital conditions benefit is limited to RM15,000 and RM30,000 for Plan 1 and Plan 2 respectively.

If Deductible is chosen, you must first pay a fixed amount equivalent to the Deductible selected out of the total accumulated eligible benefits within an annexure year, before Prudential pays the rest of the expenses. The costs of the eligible benefit accumulated for that annexure year will not be carried forward to the next annexure year. If you already have a medical plan with an annual limit equivalent to (or higher than) the Deductible amount, the eligible expenses in excess of the Deductible selected will be covered by PRUvalue med. Deductible applies to Hospital Daily Room & Board Benefit, Hospital & Surgical Benefits, Outpatient Treatment Benefits and Other Benefits. 11. How does Deductible work? Deductible RM50,000 Scenario Emily already has another existing medical plan provided by her employer which will also cover her child, with RM50,000 annual limit. To extend her child s medical coverage, she bought a PRUvalue med for her child with Deductible RM50,000 and Med Value Point RM1.5 million. A year after her child is born, the child is diagnosed with an illness and admitted to a hospital, and incurs a medical bill of RM,000. RM50,000 ILLUSTRATION Deductible RM150,000 Extended coverage for that policy year Paid by existing Paid by Prudential medical plan Note: The above scenario is for illustration purposes only and all benefits are subject to waiting periods. Please refer to the Policy Document for the detailed terms and conditions. 12. What is Med Value Point (MVP)? Claims on eligible benefits will be payable in full (subject to Med Saver or Deductible, if applicable) up to the initial Med Value Point plus any accumulated Med Value Point Bonus. If the total accumulated eligible claims paid exceed the initial Med Value Point plus any accumulated Med Value Point Bonus, we will still provide continuous coverage up to the expiry age by paying 80% of the excess eligible benefit cost. Outpatient Cancer Treatment and Outpatient Kidney Dialysis Benefits will be up to 1.5 times of the initial Med Value Point. Claims on Outpatient Cancer Treatment and Outpatient Kidney Dialysis Benefits will be counted as part of Med Value Point. 13. How does Med Value Point work? Med Value Point Scenario Emily has bought a PRUvalue med for her child, with MVP RM1.5 million. PRUvalue med with MVP RM1.5 million RM1.5 million MVP Total claims RM2 million of the total eligible benefits, which exceed the MVP by RM,000 RM,000 We pay RM,000 (80% of RM,000) 80% 20% Emily pays RM,000 (20% of RM,000) Coverage continues until age Fully Paid by RM,000 RM,000 Prudential Prudential pays 80% Customer pays 20%

All about PRUmy child plus All about PRUmy child plus 14. What is Med Value Point Bonus? For plans with Hospital Daily Room & Board () of RM and above, and for every 2 policy years where you do not incur claims, we will reward you with Med Value Point Bonus which increases your Med Value Point (MVP) by 2% of the initial MVP. When total claims paid exceed the initial Med Value Point plus any accumulated Med Value Point Bonus, no further Med Value Point Bonus shall be provided even if there are no further claims. 15. Is the PRUvalue med coverage non-cancellable? PRUvalue med is non-cancellable which also means PRUvalue med coverage is guaranteed unless there is fraud or any circumstance that makes the policy or PRUvalue med voidable or null and void. This depends on all premiums being duly paid and PRUvalue med being in force. 16. Can I align the date my PRUvalue med s deductible resets with existing coverage that I have for my child? Date of Deductible is a facility to match the Deductible reset date 13 of PRUvalue med with Deductible with the annual limit reset date 14 of your existing medical plan. By matching the Date of Deductible, you can have seamless and uninterrupted coverage with both existing medical plan and PRUvalue med with Deductible. If you choose PRUvalue med with Deductible and do not provide the Date of Deductible, the Date of Deductible will be defaulted to PRUvalue med s effective date (i.e. Date of Annexure). When Date of Deductible and/or any of PRUvalue med with Deductible s benefit is amended (i.e. Hospital Daily Room and Board, Med Value Point or Med Saver/Deductible), Deductible accumulation will restart from zero and re-accumulate each time from the new effective date and Date of Deductible. 13 The date at which the accumulated Deductible amount resets to zero. 14 The date at which the annual claimable amount resets to the annual limit of the medical plan. 17. How do I enjoy continuous coverage up to age? PRUwith you and its attachable riders (other than accidental and juvenile riders) will expire when the Life Assured reaches age years old. However, coverage to expiry age is subject to the policy having sufficient account value to cover all the policy charges such as insurance charges, other fees and charges which are deducted from the account value. This would mean that the policy needs to have a positive account value in order for coverage to remain in force. To ensure that the policy has sufficient account value, additional premiums are likely required for continuous coverage up to age. 18. How much premium do I have to pay? The total premium that you have to pay and the policy terms may vary depending on our underwriting requirements. You are given one month s grace period after the due date for the payment of premium. The premiums are payable throughout the duration of the plan up to its maturity. Premiums can be paid yearly, half-yearly, quarterly or monthly via Auto Debit, Credit/Debit Card or Cash/Cheque. 19. How will my regular premiums be invested? We will allocate a portion of the premium to purchase units in the investment-linked fund(s). Any unallocated amount will be used to pay commissions to agent/wealth Planner and other expenses by us. You are advised to refer to the allocation rates given in the Sales Illustration. Through our PRUlink and PRUlink global funds that can cater to the financial risk appetite of a wide range of customers, you can have your premium invested in both local and even global markets. This way, you would have control not only over the amount of risk you are exposing your investments to, but can also widen your investment scope internationally. 20. Who can take up this package? As this package consists of a few components, different terms of eligibility (age next birthday) may be applicable to each individual component as follows: Basic Plan/Rider Minimum Maximum PRUwith you 14 weeks into pregnancy 70 years old Infant Care Plus For child: 14 weeks into pregnancy For mother: 18 years old For child: 35 weeks into pregnancy For mother: 45 years old Essential Child Plus 14 weeks into pregnancy 15 years old PRUvalue med 14 weeks into pregnancy 70 years old 21.
