SPOTLIGHT Daffodil Days Campaign The End of an Era Over the years, the American Cancer Society s (ACS) Daffodil Days campaign has become a time-honored tradition for many supporters, however, the needs of the ACS have changed and as a trusted national health leader, ACS allocates resources to those programs that save the most lives. Therefore, ACS made the difficult decision to have 2013 be the last year of the Daffodil Days campaign and to focus its volunteer and staff efforts more intently on other community-based fundraising and mission activities. LADWP employees showed their overwhelming generosity and consideration for the annual campaign last year by raising a record-breaking high of $108,500. That was $24,000 more than the previous year and the most raised by a single entity in the entire State of California! Check with your management to make sure that your Division/Unit has a representative. Please have their name and contact information emailed to the Department coordinator Gale Harris or Christine Reinhart no later than Monday, January 28. This year s campaign will run from Wednesday, January 30 to Friday, February 22. The daffodils will be delivered via FedEx on Tuesday, March 19. Let s make this grand finale of Daffodil Days a huge success with another record-breaking total. Your support is greatly appreciated. 20
