2018 Landscape of Microinsurance: Africa (1/2) 8 Now in their eighth consecutive year, the Landscape Studies collect and collate data on the coverage achieved through microinsurance products around the world, providing the industry s only benchmark. Access to data generates market knowledge and development, furthers best practice and leads to better products and services. Reliable, accessible data is needed to support the development of inclusive insurance. In 2018, we will be piloting a revised methodology, designed by a group of experts who are generously contributing their time to improve the representativeness, usefulness and financial sustainability of this major research programme. The preliminary results of the study are traditionally presented in a plenary session at the International Microinsurance Conference each year, with final data published both in a full report and Excel format through the World Map of Microinsurance.
