Welcome. This guide is designed to help make your transition from Wells Fargo online and mobile banking to Flagstar Bank Online and Mobile Banking simple and straightforward. We ve included detailed instructions, key dates, and any actions you may need to take, so you re ready to get started as a Flagstar customer on Monday, December 3, 2018. Please review this guide and contact us if you have any questions or need assistance. We re here to help. Just call us at (888) 248-6423 (Monday Friday, 7:30 a.m.-9 p.m. ET; Saturday, 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. ET). You can also stop by your local branch or visit fl agstar.com/welcomewells anytime. Thank you for your patience and assistance during this transition. Preparing for a smooth transition. Accounts and services will move to Flagstar over the weekend of November 30. During this transition, access to your accounts and banking services will be limited. Please plan ahead and take care of any online banking activities prior to 12 p.m. ET on Friday, November 30.
Prior to Friday, November 30. Some services will need to be set up on Flagstar Online and Mobile Banking even if you currently use them at Wells Fargo. To help make this process easier, we recommend you print or download certain information from Wells Fargo Online Banking, including: Dates and frequencies of any scheduled and recurring account transfers. ebills information. Zelle recipients. Scheduled payments. Text and email alerts. Quicken or QuickBooks records that you may want to keep. Scheduled ACH or wire payments. Bill payment payees, scheduled online payments and recurring payments will transfer but we encourage you to print/download these items now and then verify your information on December 3. As of 12 p.m. ET on Friday, November 30. To ensure a smooth transition do not make, schedule, or modify any funds transfers, bill payments, Zelle payments, ebills, ACH, wires, or other transactions after this time. They will not transfer to Flagstar. If you have any accounts remaining with Wells Fargo, you can continue to access them through Wells Fargo online and mobile banking. As of 3 p.m. on Friday, November 30. Keep in mind, Wells Fargo branches that are becoming Flagstar branches will close at this time. Some branch ATMs may be temporarily unavailable from November 30 through December 4 as they convert to Flagstar ATMs. If you received a new Flagstar Debit or ATM card, be sure you ve activated it so your card is ready to use December 1. Your Wells debit/ ATM card will no longer work as of this date. [ 3 ]
Monday, December 3, 2018. Log in and enroll in Flagstar Online Banking. 1. Go to our website fl agstar.com. 2. Go to the login box (located in the upper right corner of the page). Select Online Banking from the drop down menu (see Figure 1). 3. Enter your full Social Security Number (SSN) or Employee Identifi cation Number (EIN) as your username. (If you don t have an SSN or EIN, enter your email address.) 4. Use your current Wells Fargo password to log in. 5. Read and accept the new terms and conditions for Flagstar Online Banking when prompted. 6. Please enter the required information to complete the identity verifi cation process. 7. Choose which method you prefer to receive a one-time verifi cation code by call or text and enter the appropriate contact number. 8. Enter the verifi cation code. 9. Follow the prompts to set up and confi rm your new username and password: Username: 6 to 32 characters in length and consists of letters and/or numbers. Password: 8 to 32 characters in length, case sensitive, with at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number. The following special characters may be used -.,#:?!() \ / @$. What you ll see. Once you re logged in to Flagstar Online Banking, you ll be automatically directed to the home page. This home page serves as your main portal, providing snapshots of balances for your checking, savings, money market and CD accounts that moved to Flagstar, as well as links that will serve as your main navigation through Flagstar Online Banking. Any nicknames you ve set up for your accounts will transfer. You ll have access to up to 45 days of transaction history along with check images for checking and money market accounts on fl agstar.com. Transactions made over the weekend may not be refl ected in your account balances when you fi rst log in to online or mobile banking. Updates will be made by end of day Tuesday, December 4. For customers with both personal and business accounts registered under the same SSN, all deposit accounts you own will be included in your online and mobile banking experience. 1 CD-only customers will no longer be able to access Wells Fargo Online Banking as of December 1. [ 5 ] Tip You can continue to log in to Wells Fargo Online Banking 1 to view statements, transaction history, and tax documents for your accounts up to 90 days after they transfer to Flagstar.
Monday, December 3, 2018, continued Logging in to Flagstar Mobile Banking. Visit your app store and download the app named Flagstar Mobile. Look for this icon. If you have already logged into online banking you will just need to enter your user name and password. Otherwise log in using the same instructions as Flagstar Online Banking. Once set up, you can log in with TouchID on eligible iphones and ipads. Or use FaceID on iphone X or fi ngerprint ID on select Android devices. Making mobile check deposits. The cutoff time for making mobile check deposits is 8 p.m. ET. Deposits made after 8 p.m. ET will be refl ected on the next business day. Mobile deposit limits Personal Accounts: $5,000 in any one Business Day, $10,000 in any rolling seven-day period, and $20,000 in any rolling 30-day period. Business Accounts: $5,000 in any one Business Day, $20,000 in any rolling seven-day period, and $30,000 in any rolling 30-day period. You ll need to set up services such as funds transfers, ACH and wire payments, Zelle (for personal customers), estatements, ebills and account alerts even if you currently use them at Wells Fargo. The maximum aggregate deposit amount for new customers shall not exceed $1,000 in any rolling thirty (30) day period. You re considered a new customer for sixty (60) days after you opened your fi rst account with Wells Fargo. [ 6 ]
Additional actions for December 3. Here s how to customize your online and mobile banking experience once you re enrolled and ready to go. Reschedule current transfers. Any scheduled account transfers will not come over to your online banking profi le at Flagstar. To set up transfers at Flagstar: 1. Select Pay and Transfer from the navigation at the top of the page. 2. Select Transfers. 3. Select Internal Transfer to set up transfers to and from your Flagstar accounts. Or select External Transfer to add your accounts at other banks. 4. Then follow the on-screen prompts to complete your set up. Note: For recurring internal transfers, you can select daily, weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, monthly, bimonthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually. For recurring external transfers, you can select weekly, every 15 days, monthly, every 2 weeks, semi-annually, or fi rst or last business day of every month. Establish estatements. Go green and receive your statements securely online. Even if you currently receive estatements, you ll need to enroll for estatements at Flagstar. Select Profi le and Settings, then select Statement Preferences. Otherwise, you ll be mailed a paper statement. Up to 3 months of estatements will be available as of December 3 and will accrue to up to 24 months of estatements. To order checks online, go to the Account Summary page and click the Order Checks link next to the account for which you need checks. [ 7 ]
Enroll with Zelle (for personal banking customers). You ll need to enroll with Zelle even if you currently use Zelle at Wells Fargo. Select Payments and Transfers on the online banking home page or click on the Quick link: Send Money with Zelle. You ll then be asked to accept the terms and conditions and you ll be ready to send money to practically anyone with a bank account in the U.S. All you need is the preferred email address or U.S. mobile phone number of the recipient. Set up Alerts. Existing Wells Fargo alerts won t transition to Flagstar Online and Mobile Banking, but most alerts can be re-established beginning December 3, 2018. Click on the Alerts option from the Profi le and Settings menu and follow the on-screen prompts. Take control Use Debit Card Controls to protect your account from unauthorized use: Report and disable a lost or stolen debit card. Block a misplaced debit card; unblock it if it s found. Set spending limits for each card. Control use by merchant or transaction type. Allow or block use by location. Receive alerts when your card is used. Add users. Establish any entitlements or guest users that you wish to bank on your behalf. Under Profi le and Settings select users and follow the prompts to add users. Set up MyWallet. Budget, track expenses, review spending, and monitor your fi nancial relationships with over 17,000 fi nancial institutions with MyWallet. This is a great way to track your credit cards and brokerage accounts at other institutions, including any Wells Fargo accounts you may still have. [ 8 ]
Online Bill Payments. Enrolling in Flagstar Bill Pay. Once you ve logged in to Flagstar Online Banking: 1. Select the Pay A Bill quick link. 2. Click on Enroll. 3. Accept Bill Pay terms and conditions. Figure 2 Any scheduled payments from an account moving to Flagstar, including one-time and recurring online bill payments set up at Wells Fargo, will transfer to Flagstar Online and Mobile Banking. We do recommend that you verify your bill payments in the Payment Center (see Figure 2). See page 10 to review the timing of online payments at Flagstar. Remember to verify the payment delivery date. FYI Bill pay cutoff time for non-expedited payments: 10:00 p.m. ET. Maximum bill payment amount: $25,000 per payment; $99,999 per day. Bill payment history: Up to 12 months will transfer. [ 9 ]
Making payments. 1. Simply select your payee, enter the amount you wish to pay and the deliver by date for the payment. 2. Click on Send Money to confi rm the payment. Figure 3 To set up any new payees, use the Add a Company or Person option in the Payment Center (see Figure 3). Important: The timing of online payments at Flagstar is different than what you were accustomed to at Wells Fargo. At Flagstar, your account won t be debited until the deliver by date. Use this chart to help you schedule your payments appropriately. Online Bill Payment at Wells Fargo Your account is debited on the date your payment is sent. Payment is only sent if you have funds in your account to cover the payment. Online Bill Payment at Flagstar Your account is debited on the deliver by (due date) specifi ed on your payment rather than the date payment is sent. For payments that go out as a draft check, the debit is made on the day the recipient cashes the check. Payment is sent so it will arrive on the deliver by date. You must be sure you have funds in your account to cover the payment on the deliver by date. [ 10 ]
There is a $25,000 maximum per payment and a $99,999 maximum per day. So you can make multiple payments if you need to pay more than $25,000 at a time. Bill payments cannot be made from credit cards. Re-establish your ebills. Existing ebills will be cancelled on November 30. You ll then need to set up your ebills in Flagstar Online Banking. Please note that it can take 5-10 business days for an ebill cancellation to be processed and before it can be set up again at Flagstar. So please be sure to make alternate payment arrangements, if necessary. Sending wires. Flagstar offers domestic and international wire transfers in U.S. dollars only. To initiate a wire through online banking: 1. Select Pay and Transfer tab. 2. Select Wires. 3. Accept Terms and Conditions. 4. Select an existing wire payee or create a new one. Pending wires and wire history will not transfer to Flagstar. Using Flagstar ACH Services (for business customers). (Formerly known as Direct Pay) There is an ACH monthly fee of $10 and $.75 per ACH. Existing ACH payees will convert to Flagstar. Please add any payments you d like to make. There is a $10,000 per business day limit. Cutoff time is 6 p.m. ET. After logging in, select Pay and Transfer, ACH. View the ACH instructional video to get started.
