Doing Business with New West Insurance A er submi ng a new applica on, the road to obtaining a formal offer and ge ng your policy issued can include a few speed bumps along the way. Below are a few ps to help streamline the underwri ng process for your next case. Obtain a general HIPAA: New West Insurance has a general HIPAA form that covers over 50 carriers. Please have your client complete our HIPAA when processing a new applica on. If your case needs to be shopped for compe ve offers with other carriers, a signed general HIPAA allows us to submit the case to any of our contracted carriers. Complete contrac ng and appointments: Prior to solici ng an applica on with a new carrier, contact us to get your new contract started. If you are already contracted with a carrier, but through a different BGA, we will work to get a dual contract under New West Insurance established. If you are already contracted with a carrier, but wri ng an applica on in an non-resident state, no fy us in advance to begin the state appointment process. Help clients prepare for their life insurance exams: Walk them through the process so there are no surprises on exam day. Our office can help you with the exam ordering. Scheduling: Inform your client that they will be receiving a call from the examining service to schedule the date and me for their insurance exam to be completed. Medica on: Clients will be asked about medical history during their exam, including medica ons, both prescribed and over the counter. Res ng EKG: This will need to be performed in a place that is suitable for the client to lie down with privacy. Exam Days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday): Historically these are the best days for the big exams. If taken on a Friday, lab work may sit over the weekend. On Monday, the client may have overindulged during the weekend (alcohol/salt/high-fat food). We recommend morning exams and an overnight/a.m. fast prior to blood work (no caffeine or food and limited water). Lab Work: Both blood and urine samples will be taken for the majority of the cases. Face amount and age are the determining factors for which labs will be drawn.

Core Carriers Although we represent virtually all of the key carriers in our industry, we have developed a core group of carriers that we most ac vely promote. Each of these core carriers must meet a stringent set of criteria. They must develop real, long term value to policy holders and pay generous compensa on to the producer. We carefully examine each carrier to make sure they meet the following requirements: Financial strength Product integrity High compensa on to the producer Bend-over-backwards underwri ng Superior service New West Insurance s Producer Advisory Board set these requirements over 18 years ago. We con nue to believe that we can be more profitable only if our core carriers con nue to meet the above criteria.
