Service pursuant to this Schedule shall be subject to adequate signal strength, availability of control devices, and acceptable operating condition of the air conditioner unit. This Schedule is not applicable to customers receiving a Medical Baseline Allocation for air conditioning, receiving service under Schedules D-APS, DM, DMS-1, DMS-2, DMS-3, DS, TOU-D-1, or TOU-D-2. This Schedule is in effect until modified or terminated in the rate design phase of SCE s next general rate case or similar proceeding. TERRITORY Within the entire territory served. RATES The rates, as applicable under Schedule D, Domestic Service, shall apply, except the customer's bill shall be reduced by the following applicable credit: Strategy A $0.36 per Summer Season day per connected ton of central air conditioning for 100% Strategy B $0.20 per Summer Season day per connected ton of central air conditioning for 67% Strategy C $0.10 per Summer Season day per connected ton of central air conditioning for 50% In no event shall the amount of credit exceed the product of the Annualized Base Rate, in effect on June 10, 1996, as shown on Schedule D, multiplied by the daily kwh used. Also, the Basic Charge as shown on Schedule D shall apply. (D) MINIMUM CHARGE: The Minimum Charge provision of Schedule D shall apply. Advice 1724-E John R. Southern California Edison Revised Cal. PUC Sheet No. 34722-E* Rosemead, California Cancelling Revised Cal. PUC Sheet No. 33644-E* Original 28749-E Schedule D-APS-E Sheet 3 SPECIAL CONDITIONS 5. Cycling Period: The number of periods under Subsection a. and b. is unlimited during the period from the first Sunday in June to the first Sunday in October, inclusive, of each year, and a period is limited to no more than 6 hours duration per day. Cycling under Subsection b. is limited to situations when SCE declares a Category One, Two, or Three Storm Alert and a condition exists that creates disruptions on SCE s electrical distribution system which, if left unresolved, could damage the electrical system or cause a more widespread interruption in the supply of power. A Category One Storm Alert is limited to a geographical area and is considered stable; or to a widespread power outage from a transmission disturbance and the transmission and distribution systems are considered stable. A Category Two Storm Alert requires additional resources outside zone/area boundaries; or the storm is escalating and involves two or more zones/areas. A Category Three Storm Alert is a catastrophic emergency that involves multiple zones/areas, resources are fully committed, and additional assistance, such as mutual aid, are requested. 6. Air Conditioning Cycling Strategy Change: At customer s request, SCE shall change the strategy as follows: a. Change to a lower percentage strategy: The customer may change one time to a lower percentage strategy within the first 12 months of service under this Schedule at no charge. After one change or the first 12 months, whichever is first, the customer will be charged a service fee of $30. b. Change to a higher percentage strategy: No charge to customer. 7. Direct Access: A customer electing Direct Access shall notify its Energy Service Provider (ESP) and Scheduling Coordinator that its air-conditioning load is subject to interruption under this Schedule. 8. ISO Ancillary Services: Customers shall be prohibited from bidding curtailable load into the ISO as an ancillary service. If, however, SCE has already utilized the full capability of the load curtailment program (e.g., has interrupted all the available hours), or during periods other than from the first Sunday in June to the first Sunday in October, the customer may bid into the ISO s ancillary services market to the full extent of any curtailable load for the rest of the year. Southern California Edison Revised Cal. PUC Sheet No. 33644-E* Rosemead, California Cancelling Revised Cal. PUC Sheet No. 34150-E Schedule D-APS-E Sheet 4 SPECIAL CONDITIONS 9. Billing: A customer s bill is first calculated according to the total rates and conditions above. The following adjustments are made depending on the option applicable to the customer. a. Bundled Service Customers receive supply and delivery services solely from SCE. The customer s bill is based on the total rates set forth above. The Procured Energy (supply) component is equal to the Procured Energy Charge as set forth in Schedule PE. b. Direct Access (DA) Customers purchase energy from an Energy Service Provider and continue receiving delivery services from SCE. The PE Charge is determined as specified for a Bundled Service Customer. The customer s bill will be calculated as for a Bundled Service Customer, but the customer will receive a credit for the PE Charge (PE Credit). However, the PE Credit is reduced by the applicable components of the Direct Access Cost Responsibility Surcharge (DA CRS) in accordance with the provisions of Schedule DA. 10. Generation Charge: The generation charge is calculated based on the total rate less the sum of: Distribution, Transmission, Public Purpose Programs, Nuclear Decommissioning, and Fixed Transition Amount (where applicable) charges, the Transmission Owners Tariff Charge Adjustments, the Public Utilities Commission Reimbursement Fee, and the Department of Water Resources Bond Charge.
