Basic mandate of SESRIC is threefold: To collate, process and disseminate socioeconomic statistics and information on and for the utilisation of the Member States To study and evaluate the economic and social developments in the Member States to help generate proposals that will initiate and enhance cooperation among them To organise training programmes in selected fields geared to the needs of the Member States as well as to the general objectives of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) 2

Statistics Department SESRIC is the major socio-economic information bank on and for OIC Member States collecting processing disseminating data to all relevant institutions and interested individuals Regularly sending questionnaires to NSOs of member states BASEIND : main statistical database Data on 253 socio-economic variables under 17 categories for 57 OIC Member States dating back to 1970 Possible to make research over country, theme and year Updated regularly, member states can enter their information Free and easy access Motion Charts (trends of several indicators over time) and Thematic Maps ( comparative situation of the OIC Member States for the given theme with varying colors) Publishing Statistical Yearbook of OIC Countries and Basic Facts and Figures on OIC Member Countries

Technical Cooperation Activities Annual Meetings of Central Banks and Monetary Authorities of the OIC Member Countries The Meeting of the Central Banks and Monetary Authorities of the OIC Member Countries- 2011 has been organized by SESRIC, in collaboration with the Central Bank of Malaysia (Bank Negara Malaysia) and held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 16th November 2011 under the theme Central Banking and Financial Sector Development. 20
Technical Cooperation Activities Annual Meetings of Central Banks and Monetary Authorities of the OIC Member Countries The 2012 Meeting of the Central Banks and Monetary Authorities of the OIC Member Countries has been organized by SESRIC, in collaboration with the Central Bank of Turkey (TCMB), and held in Istanbul, Turkey on 15 May 2012 under the theme Promoting Strong and Stable Capital Flows among OIC Countries: Roles of the Financial Sector and Central Banks. 21
Technical Cooperation Activities Memorandum of Understanding between SESRIC and IFSB A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between SESRIC and IFSB on 16-17 May 2012 in Istanbul, Republic of Turkey, prior to the 9th IFSB Summit. 22
