Extended Contracts vs. Indexes Difference between extending someone s contract and indexing someone s pay.
Extended Contracts Definition: Simply adding days beyond the days required under the standard teaching contract in your district. Must be paid at the same daily rate when additional days are added to contract. ( 6-17-807) Example: Counselor is on a contract for 200 days. Calculate daily rate of pay based on the certified salary schedule and then multiply by 200 days.
Certified Indexes Total Index Includes days & duties Example: Administrator has an index of 1.20 and a 230 day contract. The days are for the actual number of days worked. The.20 index is paying for the additional responsibility of his/her contract.
Certified Indexes Duty Index Duties only (No additional days) Example: In Rogers, our standard teaching contract is for 192 days. A coach is on 192 day contract but has an index of 10%.
