The gals f the mdule and lessn: Teach the students that they are already invlved in the credit system. Shw the students that they have the ability t start their credit lives in a psitive way. Make the students aware f the bad financial and credit decisins they may already be making (r will prbably be making shrtly). Help the students see the dangers these decisins may pse fr their future financial life. Intrduce the students t credit tpics such as paying n time, minimum payments, and credit scres. Higher-level credit tpics include risk-based lending. 2. Objectives Knwledge Objectives Students will be better able t: Identify what a bad decisin is using examples based n teenagers cmmn mistakes. That is the premise f Mdule 2, Breathing Withut Air. Peple can t live withut air, and a persn can t live withut credit. It s a message yu can say again and again: This is abut yu. As in Mdule 1 s teaching plan, we will use a simple apprach. As an intrductin t Mdule 2, write the wrd YOU in big, bld letters n the bard. Ask students if they want their financial decisins t be made by themselves r by strangers. Ask them why they wrk and wh gets their paycheck. Ask them abut their financial persnalities: Are yu a saver r a spender? Open the discussin up t the class. Get them engaged in discussing the yu in relatinship t their financial decisins. Enjy Mdule 2, Breathing Withut Air. 4. Evaluatin Mdule 2 has a review and test fr evaluatin at the cnclusin f the mdule. T further check fr understanding, have the students make a list f items they wuld like t purchase. The list can be futuristic. Examples: A huse, sprts car, flat screen HDTV, etc. Once the students have shared their lists, have them turn the paper ver and have them list the five factrs f credit that wuld allw them t make thse purchases. If there is time, have them list the pr financial decisins that wuld cause them nt t be able t make their dream purchase. Once the task is cmpleted, have the students share with the class their thughts and pull a cmmn theme frm their ideas.
