National Health Protection Scheme 1. Launched as part of Ayushman Bharat Scheme. 2. 10 crore poor and vulnerable families will be provided Rs. 5 lakh worth insurance cover for secondary and tertiary care institutions. 3. Believing an average family to be of size 5 people, the scheme will support at least 50 crore citizens of India. 4. The spending on the scheme has been left without a cap. 5. It is world s largest government funded healthcare programme. 6. The states will be left with the option to either follow insurance model or trust model for provision of secondary and tertiary healthcare services.
Operation Green 1. Launched on similar lines with Operation Flood. 2. It shall promote: 1. Farmer producer organisations, 2. Processing facilities, 3. Agri-logistics and 4. Professional management in agriculture. 3. Aid farmers and help control and limit erratic fluctuations in prices of TOP - Tomatoes, Onions and Potatoes. 4. Essentially a price fixation scheme to provide right price for their produce. 5. Doubling farmer income is intention by the end of year 2022.
Eklavya School Scheme 1. To be established for students from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes by the year 2022. 2. Schools will be opened on the lines of Navodaya Schools. 3. Model residential schools in each block. 4. Target areas: 1. Areas with more than 50% tribal areas. 2. At least 20,000 tribal population. 5. The schools will be part of Navodaya Vidyalayas. 6. Focus will also be on sports and skill development besides academic excellence. 7. Special focus will be provided on preserving local art and culture.
RISE Scheme 1. RISE stands for Revitalising Infrastructure and Systems for Education Scheme. 2. Aim is to lend low-cost fund to government higher educational institutions. 3. Targeted investment is of Rs 1 lakh crore over next 5 years. 4. The financing segment has been handed over to HEFA - Higher Education Financing Agency which is a nonbanking financial company opened few years back.
Prime Minister Fellowship Scheme 1. Also called Prime Minister Research Fellowship. 2. 3000 fellowships will be provided to students from IITs, IISERs, IISc, IIITs and NITs who wish to do PhD from IITs and IISc. 3. The fellowship amount will be Rs. 70,000 for first two years, Rs. 75,000 for the third year and Rs. 80,000 for last two years against standard JRF of Rs. 25,000 and SRF of Rs. 28,000. 4. Besides, the fellowships, a Grant of Rs. 2,00,000 will be provided to meet research related expenditure of the PhDs. 5. The scheme is aimed to prevent brain drain from the country and promote research in the country.
Kisan Credit Card for Fisherman and Cattle 1. To provide easier loans to fisherman and cattle owners. 2. People associated with milk production in rural areas will be benefitted largely. 3. About Kisan Credit Card Scheme: 1. Introduced in 1998 by Indian Banks. 2. Model scheme prepared by the NABARD on the recommendations of RV Gupta committee. 3. For easier cash credit, term loans and agricultural credit needs. 4. Being implemented by all commercial banks, RRBs and cooperative banks. 5. The KCC holders are covered under personal accidental insurance up to Rs. 50,000 for death and permanent disabilities, and up to Rs. 25,000 for other risks.
Affordable Housing Fund 1. Being created under National Housing Bank. 2. Will be funded from priority sector lending shortfall and fully serviced bonds authorised by the Central Government. 3. Will be used to construct one crore households in rural areas under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Rural.
Gobar-Dhan Yojana 1. Gobar-Dhan stands for Galvanising Organic Bio-Agro Resources Fund Scheme. 2. Intention is to improve the lives of the villagers. 3. The scheme will promote generation of compost, biogas and bio-cng from cow dung and solid waste generated from agricultural fields.
National Bamboo Mission 1. It is a Rs. 1290 crore scheme. 2. The scheme intends to promote bamboo production to develop bamboo timber as a full fledge industry. 3. The mission intends to particularly help rural and vulnerable tribal people to augment their income.
