Connecting with the Ballarat Heritage Weekend, the theme of the 2018 Festival is Technology: the use over the past 100 years. The will showcase both competition and collection aprons of vintage and modern design, while giving visitors an opportunity to get involved in workshops, browse the curated maker s market, enjoy light refreshments and soak up the family-friendly festival atmosphere. We look forward to seeing your gorgeous Aprons! How to Participate 1. Choose your apron competition category - there are 8 categories to enter (see Apron Information Form). Please note: Each entrant may submit up to three Aprons. Each apron may only be entered in one category. 2. Complete the Competition Entry Form, and one Apron Information Form for each Apron you submit. 3. Remember to tell us if your Apron is available for sale or not at the Festival and your price. 4. Submit your forms with your apron(s) and entry fee. See details below for how to submit your entry. 5. Bring your friends and loved ones to see your amazing apron on display at The. Key dates Entries accepted from Friday 30 March 2018 Entries close on Friday 11 May 2018 (entry forms & fee must be submitted with your Apron) Exhibition opens to the public on Saturday 26 May 2018-10am to 5pm Exhibition closes on Sunday 27 May 2018 at 4pm Aprons will be available for collection from St Patrick s Cathedral Hall, Dawson Street South, Ballarat, between 4.30pm and 6pm on Sunday 27 May 2018 (unless other arrangements have been made). Entry Fees Fees cover all curatorial and administrative costs. Aprons must be presented in a sealed bag (no coat hangers, please) with contact details clearly marked on the bag. If paying fees by cash, the correct amount must be placed in a sealed envelope with your forms as no change can be given. Please note the payment may take up to 3 weeks to be processed. If your Apron has not sold, and you have paid the return postage fee in your application form then your Apron will be posted back to you within 3 weeks of the close of the Festival. If you would like to collect your Apron, this can be done at the close of the Festival on Sunday 27 May 2018 at St. Patrick s Cathedral Hall, Dawson Street South Ballarat or by emailing to make other arrangements. If your Apron is not for sale: Aprons will be available for collection from St Patrick s Cathedral Hall, Dawson Street South, Ballarat, between 4.30pm-6pm on Sunday 27 May 2018. If unable to collect during this time, please email to make other arrangements. Aprons that have not paid for return postage will not have their aprons returned by post. Conditions of Entry Eligibility For the, an apron is defined as an item that is worn to protect the garments of the wearer. The apron must be able to be worn by a person to be eligible for entry to the competition. All Aprons accompanied by correctly completed Entry Form and Apron Information Form(s) are eligible for submission to the 2018 Competition. Each apron can only be entered in one category. The entry category must be selected by the entrant on the Apron Information Form. One Apron Information Form is to be submitted per Apron. Aprons must have been made expressly for the 2018. Aprons can be made from any materials and using any techniques and processes, providing they are suited to the category in which they are entered. Please do not attach any additional tags or information to your Apron as it will be removed and cannot be returned to you. will endeavour to display all entered Aprons, but reserves the right to limit the number of non-winning aprons displayed. The Committee also reserves the right to not display an Apron. No judge, sponsor or their direct family members are eligible to enter. Period of loan The Entry Form is a binding loan agreement between the entrant and the for the purpose of display and possible sale of the apron. Should any dispute arise concerning any matter relating to an entry in the, it shall be referred for arbitration, one arbitrator appointed by each party. In the event of the arbitrators disagreeing, the dispute will be referred to an umpire mutually appointed by the arbitrators.
