Objectives To provide participants with enhanced understanding of insurance practice, both in terms of technical subject matter and overall managmenet skills. To assist students in attaining the ACII qualification. Intended Participants This programme is suitable for those who require a comprehensive understanding of market knowledge and who wish to pursue a career through the attainment of qualifications in insurance. It is ideal for today s insurance managers and technical specialists and staff with aspirations to become managers in the future. It is also ideal for those who wish to demonstrate their professional standing. Entry Requirements There are no entry requirements to participate in this programme. Nevertheless, MITC strongly advices that students should ideally have acquired a proven academic aptitude (having as a minimum attained passes at O Level standard in Maltese, English, Maths, Accounts and Economics) prior to embarking on specialist insurance studies. Accreditation Attainment of the MITC Advanced Applied Insurance Studies Diploma (AAIS) entitles the successful candidate to claim 90 CII credits from the Advanced Diploma Level (ACII) of the Chartered Insurance Institute. CII credits are subject to change and recognition of prior learning awards are made at the CII s discretion. Level within the National and European Qualifications Framework The Malta Qualifications Council deems this CPD Award of 30 credits to be at Level 5 on the Malta Qualifications Framework (MQF) and on the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) for Lifelong Learning. Use of MITC facilities (including a fully equipped library and internet points) Books, notes and/or educational material (including CII course book per module) and intranet access.
