Objectives To provide participants with enhanced understanding of insurance practice, both in terms of technical subject matter and overall managmenet skills. To assist students in attaining the ACII qualification. Intended Participants This programme is suitable for those who require a comprehensive understanding of market knowledge and who wish to pursue a career through the attainment of qualifications in insurance. It is ideal for today s insurance managers and technical specialists and staff with aspirations to become managers in the future. It is also ideal for those who wish to demonstrate their professional standing. Entry Requirements There are no entry requirements to participate in this programme. Nevertheless, MITC strongly advices that students should ideally have acquired a proven academic aptitude (having as a minimum attained passes at O Level standard in Maltese, English, Maths, Accounts and Economics) prior to embarking on specialist insurance studies. Potential Job Opportunities Technical /Professional jobs within the Insurance Industry. Accreditation Attainment of the MITC Advanced Applied Insurance Studies Diploma (AAIS) entitles the successful candidate to claim 90 CII credits from the Advanced Diploma Level (ACII) of the Chartered Insurance Institute. CII credits are subject to change and recognition of prior learning awards are made at the CII s discretion. Level within the National and European Qualifications Framework The Malta Qualifications Council deems this CPD Award of 30 credits to be at Level 5 on the Malta Qualifications Framework (MQF) and on the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) for Lifelong Learning. Duration 2 hours per lecture. A further 120 hours of self study per module is required. Organisers

Underwriting Management It is assumed that the candidate already has the knowledge of the provisions of Financial Services Authority regulation as covered in IF1 Insurance, legal and regulatory, P80 Underwriting practice and P92 Business and Finance. Claims Management It is assumed that the candidate already has the knowledge gained from a study of the relevant sections of IF1 Insurance, legal and regulatory and P85 Claims practice. Insurance Broking It is assumed that the candidate already has the knowledge gained from a study of the relevant sections of IF1 Insurance, legal and regulatory, P05 Insurance law and P81 Insurance broking practice.

Fee CII Credits Module Code Fee per participant 90 CII Credits Full AAIS Diploma 2,000 30 CII credits per module Module 6-11 680 per module The Course fee for the AAIS Diploma students includes: 8 (2hrs) lectures plus 2 (2hrs) revision sessions per module. Use of MITC facilities (including a fully equipped library and internet points) Books, notes and/or educational material (including CII course book per module) and intranet access. NB: Accreditation fees payable to the CII are NOT included (refer to CII website for more information) Payment may be effected by: Bank transfer (account number 089-022016-001) at HSBC Malta, Hamrun Draft/Cheque payable to or Cash payment NB: Payment is to be received 15 days prior to commencement of the programme. Discounts and Cancellation Policy Companies effecting group bookings (four or more participants) are entitled to apply for a 10% corporate discount.
