The Fund is suitable for investors who: seek to invest in a diversified portfolio of Shariah-compliant stocks listed in the Asia-Pacific region; and are willing to accept moderate to high level of risk. 3. What am I investing in? Fund Category Islamic Equity Fund Type Investment Strategy and Policy Growth KEY PRODUCT FEATURES The Fund invests in a diversified portfolio of foreign Shariah-compliant equities and equity-related instruments, and Islamic money market instruments with emphasis on high growth potential and/or undervalued Shariah-compliant stocks relative to their assessed true value. Manulife Asset Management (Hong Kong) Limited (the Fund Manager ) adopts an active and frequent trading strategy in meeting the investment objective of the Fund. However, any active and frequent trading strategy will depend on investment opportunities or valuations. Who am I investing with? Manager Fund Manager Trustee Shariah Adviser Manulife Asset Management Services Berhad Manulife Asset Management (Hong Kong) Limited HSBC (Malaysia) Trustee Berhad IBFIM KEY RISKS 5. What are the key risks associated with this Fund? Specific Stock The Fund s portfolio comprises a spread of different investments, such as different stocks including listed Risk REITs. The performance of individual stock invested can affect the overall NAV of the Fund. Credit and Default Risk Country Risk Credit and default risk arises when an issuer or counterparty of the sukuk securities/money market instruments/placement of deposits is unable to make timely payments on profit, principals and proceeds from realisation of investments upon maturity. This may lead to a default in the payment of principal and profit and ultimately a reduction in the value of a unit trust fund. The investment of the Fund may be affected by risks specific to the country in which it invests. Such risks include changes in the country s economic fundamentals, social and political stability, currency movements and foreign investment policies as well as other external factors.

Regulatory Risk Currency Risk Reclassification of Shariah Status Risk This is the risk that any changes in national or economic policies or regulations may have an adverse effect on the capital markets and could consequentially have an impact on the investments of the Fund. This risk is associated with investments of the Fund that are denominated in foreign currencies. Any fluctuation in the exchange rate between Ringgit Malaysia and the currencies in which the investments are denominated may affect the value of these investments. Any gains or losses arising from the fluctuation in the exchange rate may further increase or decrease the returns of the investment. Hedging may be applied to minimise the currency risk. However, unit holders are unable to enjoy upside from any currency appreciation. This is the risk that the currently held Shariah-compliant securities in the portfolio of the Fund may be reclassified to be Shariah non-compliant in the periodic review of the securities by the Shariah Advisory Council of the Securities Commission Malaysia, the Shariah Adviser or the Shariah Boards of the relevant Islamic indices. If this occurs, the Manager will take the necessary steps to dispose of such securities. There may be opportunity loss to the Fund due to the Fund not being allowed to retain the excess capital gains derived from the disposal of the Shariah non-compliant equities. The value of the Fund may also be adversely affected in the event of a disposal of Shariah non-compliant equities at a price lower than the investment cost. 6. What are the fees and charges involved?
