Schengen country (many countries of Western Europe constitute the Schengen countries) consulates insist on having travel insurance with a minimum of $37, coverage. 3. In most of these countries medical care is not subsidized by the government, and medical bills can easily exceed thousands of dollars which patients have to pay by themselves. 4. Carrying huge foreign currency for such unforeseen medical reason is not advisable. 5. Most people in these countries have some form of health insurance, however these insurance policies are not available to visitors. 6. Along with medical coverage, these travel insurance policies also provide coverage for baggage loss, baggage delay, loss of passport etc. How Much Does Travel Insurance Cost? Unfortunately, we are unable to cover you if you have already left the country I would like to cancel my policy. How do I go about doing this? If you want to cancel your Policy, you must send us a written request within 14days of buying your policy. Please note that we can only cancel and refund your policy if you have not travelled or claimed on the policy. What is the minimum period for Insurance coverage? Insurance coverage varies with different insurance plan. It is typically for as little as five days. Normally, we advise you to cover insurance for five days more than no of days of your stay out of the country from the start date of the travel. This is to take care if you miss a flight or rescheduling of flights by Airways due to technical reason or your rescheduling due to personal reasons. What is the proof of my purchasing insurance? When you purchase insurance, Kesari staff will immediately give you Policy with Coverage and terms & conditions. it is necessary for you to read & sign it before travelling. Can we get benefit of this insurance in India? We cannot get benefit in India even though his policy is not expired When does the insurance take effect? The coverage will start from the start date as indicated on the form. But this will take effect when you enter the foreign land. Can I purchase insurance for only part of the stay? Yes you can purchase for only partial duration of the entire stay. However the purpose of purchasing insurance is in the event of unanticipated medical emergencies. One can never be sure when such an emergency can happen. Having purchased insurance for part of their stay will not help in the event of an emergency during the uninsured period. How do I find out which doctors are part of a given insurance network? You can also get this information by calling the toll free number provided in the insurance policy. What information do I need to take Insurance policy? All the information required to complete the application is available in the applicants passport. The main data elements are the applicants complete name, passport number, date of birth, mailing address and telephone number in India, the assignee (the beneficiary for the policy) and the correct travel dates. What are the deductible? The deductibles is the amount which has to be borne by the insured/passenger. It is meant to avoid small claims. Are pre-existing disease covered? No. Guest need to self declare pre-existing diseases. Medical reports along with the form duly completed by M.D. doctor is required for person above 60 years. However if the travel / tour is for less than 60 days no reports are required up to the age of 70 years. For 70 years & above these reports are required irrespective of number of days of travel.
