Theme Transforming Investment in ASEAN Through ACIA Key Messages ACIA accelerates the creation of the ASEAN Economic Community, benefiting a vibrant economic region of more than half a billion consumers. ACIA promises new economic opportunities throughout ASEAN, including in newer Member States Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. Businesses and cross-border investors stand to benefit from ACIA s four pillars: liberalization, promotion, facilitation and protection of investments. Objectives To introduce and promote the ASEAN Comprehensive Investment Agreement (ACIA), which came into force on 29th March 2012, to ASEAN investors, government agencies, in particular its enhanced features.
