1 EJTN STUDY VISITS PRESENTATION, CALENDARS AND REQUIREMENTS 1. STUDY VISIT AT THE EUROPEAN UNION AGENCY FOR FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS (FRA) The study visit will be organized at the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) in Vienna, Austria. It will be complemented by a visit at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). The aim of the study visit is to introduce the participants to the work of the FRA and the UNODC in the judicial context. Among the topics tackled will be the EU Charter Fundamental Rights, FRA s work in the area of Non-Discrimination, LGBTI, Access to Justice, Asylum and Migration, Hate Crime, the Rights of the Child and Data Protection. To take part, you must be a judge, a prosecutor or a judicial trainer Calendar Number of places Language available December 2017 Vienna 2 days English 40 A daily allowance of 170 will be paid by EJTN to participants during the whole period of the s The deadline for applications is Monday 16 October 2017, 18:00 Brussels time.

STUDY VISITS AT THE COURT OF JUSTICE OF THE EUROPEAN UNION (CJEU) The study visits will be organized at the Court of Justice of the European Union, the aim of these visits is to provide a deeper knowledge on the powers, organization and functioning of the court. The visits will include: s given by members of staff of the Court on Court s competencies, procedures and case law on procedures of the Court of Justice (followed by question & answer session) Hearing session To participate in study visits at the Court of Justice of the European Union, you need to be: A judge, a prosecutor or a judicial trainer Calendar for the study visits Five study visits will be organized during 2017 at CJEU Language Number of places March Luxembourg 2 days English May Luxembourg 2 days English June Luxembourg 2 days French July Luxembourg 2 days English October Luxembourg 2 days English 40 A daily allowance of 180 will be paid to participants by EJTN during the whole period of the

STUDY VISITS AT THE EUROPEAN COURT OF HUMAN RIGHTS (ECHR) The study visits will be organized at the European Court of Human Rights, the aim of these visits is to provide a deeper knowledge of the Court, its functioning and its case law. During the study visits members of the court will give presentations on various topics and participants will engage in: of the Convention and sessions on specific issues of human rights articles. s on Court s competencies, procedures and case law on the activities of the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights A hearing session To participate in study visits at the European Court of Human Rights, you need to be: A judge, a prosecutor or a judicial trainer Calendar for the study visits Five study visits will be organized during 2017 at the ECHR Number of places Language available & 22 March Strasbourg 3 days English & 29 March Strasbourg 3 days French & 28 June Strasbourg 3 days English & 18 October Strasbourg 3 days English & 6 December Strasbourg 3 days English 35 A daily allowance of 190 will be paid to participants by EJTN during the whole period of the

STUDY VISITS IN THE EUROPEAN UNION INSTITUTIONS : The study visits will be organized in the European Commission, the Council of the European Union, the European Parliament, European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) and the European Anti-fraud Office (OLAF). The study visits are designed to provide beneficiaries with an insight into the EU law making process and the host institution s functioning and procedures. The role of the European Anti-Fraud Office will also be explained. To participate in study visits in EU Institutions you need to be: Prosecutors & Investigating Judges Calendar for the study visits in 2017 Two study visits will be organized during 2017 at the EU institutions Number of Language places available 15, 16 & 17 May Brussels 3 days English 30 20, 21 & 22 November Brussels 3 days English 30 A daily allowance of 180 will be paid to participants by EJTN during the whole period of the
5 5. STUDY VISIT TO EUROJUST The aim of this visit is to raise the participants awareness of the role of Eurojust and its organization. In addition, they will increase their understanding of the powers given to Eurojust National Members as well as the instruments of judicial cooperation in criminal matters. To participate in study visit to EUROJUST you need to be: Prosecutors or Investigating judges Calendar for the study visit One study visit will be organized during the second semester 2017 at EUROJUST Language Number of places available 18 to 22 September The Hague Netherlands 5 days English 28 Daily allowances of 200 will be paid to the participants for the whole period of the study visit. Transport costs will be reimbursed on a real-cost basis up to a maximum of 400 upon receipt of original transport documents.
