3 Introduction It is a great renewed pleasure for me, as Minister of Gabon Mining, Oil and Hydrocarbons to be back again in this august assembly. To economics operators (partners), Managers and other influents decision makers that help to bring about development of Oil Business; I would like to repeat the great honour you show to my country by accepting with my voice to speak to you about oil and Mining Business and its development perspectives in Gabon. In addition to the woods, Gabonese subsoil contains a lot of different mineral resources among witch manganese, Uranium, Niobium, Gold and others

4 Gabon- New development strategy Considering the development needs of Gabon and the comitment to diversify the economy of the country, the new Head of State His Excellency Ali Bongo Ondimba is implementing a new integrated strategy based on three (3) pillars: 1- Green Gabon: Building green economy by developing forestry and environment sectors; 2- Gabon of Services: Building services sector by developing capacities including banking, IT s, etc. 3- Industrial Gabon: Building an industrial development by moving up the value chain in mining and oil sectors

13 GABON PRE-SALT New Exploration Plays - Offshore Brazilian and West Coast African Basins The recent giant field discoveries in the Synrift sequence of the Santos and Campos basins of Brazil have stimulated an intense interest in the twin basin, principally situated in the deep Dentale basin area of the south of Gabon. The analogue, based on the separation of the two Continents (African and South American), justifies the same approach in the search for giant petroleum prospect in Gabon. Many opportunities exist in Gabon s deep water for significant structure in plays already succeful in coastal areas
