3 Part E: Monies associated with event Amount per security: The actual dividend amount paid per share held, expressed in dollars and cents to a maximum of six decimal places (eg, $0.07). Excluded income per security: Any amount of the dividend paid which is excluded from tax (this is only applicable to listed PIEs (Portfolio Investment Entity)). This field MUST be completed if the Issuer is a Listed PIE Currency: The currency in which the dividend is to be paid (eg, NZD). Total monies: The amount per security and excluded income per security figures added together Supplementary dividend: Any supplementary dividend to be paid per share, given in dollars and cents to a maximum of six decimal places (eg, $ ). NOTE Either Resident Withholding Tax field (under Part F) OR Excluded Income Per Security field (see below) MUST be completed not both, nor both left empty. 3

4 Part F: Taxation Imputation credits: If the dividend is taxable, state the amount here in dollars and cents to a maximum of six decimal places (eg, $ ) Resident withholding tax: The resident withholding tax field is required to be completed on Appendix 7/4 dividend notices unless the Issuer is a Portfolio Investment Entity (PIE), in which case the "Excluded income per security" field (under Part E above) must be completed instead. Completing the RWT field ensures that the market is fully informed on the taxation of the dividend. If resident withholding tax applies, enter the amount here in dollars and cents to a maximum of six decimal places (e.g. $ ) If the Issuer does not issue imputation credits, then the RWT will be 33% of the cash "dividend amount per security." If the Issuer offers imputation credits, then the gross amount of the dividend is the cash dividend plus the imputation credits. The imputation credits plus the resident withholding tax must be 33% of this gross dividend. If your dividend is fully imputed the imputation credits will be 28% of the gross dividend with the remaining 5% being resident withholding tax. Calculation example:- Cash Dividend + Imputation Credits = Gross Dividend Gross Dividend x 33% = Dividend A For a fully imputed dividend: Imputation Credits (28%) + RWT (5%) must equal 33% of Gross Dividend NOTE Either the Resident Withholding Tax field OR Excluded income per security field (see under Part E above) MUST be completed not both, nor both left empty. 4

5 Part G: Timing Record date 5pm: This is the date on which the registry takes a snapshot of all holders on the register to determine who is eligible for the dividend payment; it must be a business day. Appendix 7/4 forms need to be provided to NZX for announcement to market at least ten business days prior the record date. Application date: This is the date on which the dividend is paid. There is no rule about how soon after the record date this is. Standard time is one week, but it just needs to be within reasonable time and be a business day. Notes: The Appendix 7/4 forms do not have a field for the Ex date. Following NZX markets T+3 convention (trade day + three business days), the Ex date in New Zealand will be from market open on second business day prior to Record date. For example: - Record date of 4 June 2013 has an Ex date of 30 May Record date of 7 June 2013 has an Ex date of 5 June 2013 For a Special Dividend, an additional Appendix 7/4 must be completed in addition to the standard dividend form.
