3 Trading Plan T here is an old adage in business: failing to plan is planning to fail. A trading plan is a written blueprint of everything you should do as a trader. It will cover your personality, goals, strategy and money management. The set of rules will help the trader to follow a plan, evaluate his/her progress, limit mistakes, control emotions and prevent irrational decision making. A trading plan should not be confused with a trading strategy. The latter describes how to enter and exit positions whereas the former is a complete set of rules that governs every part of your trading. A trader may have one or more trading strategies but essentially only one trade plan. The strategies would all fit within the overall trade plan.
