2 Dividend declaration MEENHAR News Letter Name of Dividend Declaration Record Date AGM Date Company Date HRTEX MAKSONSPIN 5(b) nd Page BSEC to postpone Apollo Ispat s IPO proceedings: The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) is set to postpone the IPO proceedings of Apollo Ispat until the probe is completed. The regulator is planning its next course action in line with the finance minister's letter received Thursday. The regulator now will go for next course of actions in line with the letter of the finance minister. The finance minister's letter suggested for looking into four issues in the BSEC's investigation. The issues are: Interest of the companies' directors or shareholders who earlier were removed, the company's liabilities to the revenue board, misappropriation of funds through local LCs (letter of credit) and the company's present business accounts. Meanwhile, a top official of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) said the premier bourse failed to submit its experts' recommendation on the company's prospectus, as the IPO was approved before their submission. DSE plans to launch 'Islamic Shariah Index: The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) is planning to introduce an 'Islamic Shariah Index' to increase investment of Islamic Shariah-based banks in the stock market. DSE president and coordinator of the Stock Market Coordination Committee Rakibur Rahman said this after a meeting of the committee at the DSE board-room Thursday. Islami Bank is the biggest bank in our country. If they enter the stock market, the market will be more vibrant. DSE is also talking with the Standard and Poor's (S&P) for introduction of the new index. Earlier, on January 30, a 10-member special committee was formed with the representatives of the FBCCI, the ABB, the Bangladesh Insurance Association (BIA), the Bangladesh Association of Publicly Listed Companies (BAPLC) and the Bangladesh Merchant Bankers Association (BMBA) to bring stability in the volatile stock market. New monetary policy to help stocks: FBCCI chief: The country s bourses are expected to return to stability soon as new monetary statement is to increase fund flow to the market. If the money supply from Bangladesh Bank goes up, it will cast a positive impact on the stock markets, Said FBCCI Chief in Investors Confidence and Stock Market organized by Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) at its Dhaka office. Former SEC chairman Faruque Ahmed Siddiqi, Prof of Economics Abu Ahmed, president of Bangladesh Association of Publicly Listed Companies (BAPLC) Tapan Chowdhury and managing director of Prime Finance Sheikh Mortoza, among others, addressed the function.
