1 Total Compensation & Rewards Being a Color by Amber Stylist is rewarding in so many ways. Stylists can earn commissions, free product and supplies, and even swag and exclusive trips. The best part your success is up to you. Whether you want to have a fun part-time gig, or replace your current income (and then some) as a full-time Stylist, we ve got a place for you! Take a look at all of the ways you can earn at Color by Amber. jumpstart program The perfect way to earn free product so you have more pieces to show, which means even more sales for you! Our Jumpstart program consists of two simple levels: Level One: Your first 30 days* Hold and close a qualifying Pop-up in your first 30 days = $75 in product credit** Every new recruit you sign up in your first 30 days = $75 in product credit Level Two: Days Sales: Every $500 in sales you submit = $100 in product credit Recruiting: Any new recruit added to your team that holds their own qualifying Pop-up in their first 30 days = $100 in product credit *Level One is a total of 35 days from the date of your enrollment, allowing five days for your kit to ship and arrive to you. Level Two is a total of 95 days from the date of your enrollment. You may still earn rewards during your first five days, even if your kit has not arrived. **Qualifying Pop-up is at least $350 in sales, any amount above $350 will count towards level two sales. base retail commissions/sales bonuses Base Retail Commission: Any Stylist, regardless of rank or activity is eligible to earn a Base Retail Commission of 30% of their PV (retail sales). Sales Bonuses: The percentage you earn on your PV can increase up to 40% with our Sales Bonuses, which are implemented starting at 3% when your PV reaches $1,000, and increases up to 10% at $4,000 PV and above. When your PV reaches $300 in a given month, you will receive 5% of your total retail sales in Jewelry Sampling Credits, and 3% of your total retail sales in Supply Credits.* {$300} = { 5% } + { 3% } Personal Volume Jewelry Credits Supply Credits *Jewelry sampling and supply credits are not earned during a stylist s jumpstart period. These requirements may include a combination of the following: Personal Volume (calculated at full retail for the purposes of qualification and payout), Group Volume (calculated at 80% of retail), Active Legs, Qualified Legs, and Organizational Volume (calculated at 80% of retail). downline commissions When Stylists add team members to their organization, they will begin to earn percentages of their team member s PV called Downline Overrides. Downline Overrides are paid up to three levels down, and the percentage paid is based on the Stylist s own Paid As Rank (the rank they achieve based on their PV, GV-Group Volume, OV-Organizational Volume, and Active Legs in a single month), and what level the team member is in her organization. Downline Overrides are paid at 80% of the retail value. (see pg. 4 for full definitions of these terms). mentor bonus When a Stylist adds a new team member to her frontline, she will earn an additional 5% on her Downline Override for that Stylist during the new Stylist s first 90 days (Jumpstart Period). Additionally, when a Stylist has a new member on her second line, she will earn an additional 3% on her Downline Override for that Stylist during the new Stylist s first 90 days. rank advancement/matching bonus Rank Advancement Bonus: When a Stylist achieves a new rank for the first time, beginning at the rank of Director, she will receive a Rank Advancement Bonus, which varies depending on the rank achieved. Matching Bonus: When a Stylist earns a Rank Advancement Bonus, her closest upline who achieved the same rank or above will receive a Matching Bonus equal to the bonus given to the Stylist who advanced in rank. 2 Compensation Plan_0914

A Generation is defined as any Stylist in your organization who achieves the title of or above and everyone in her organization down to the next, if one exists. If a next does not exist, the first s entire organization is considered a Generation. You must achieve the rank of Lead or higher to qualify for Generation Overrides. If you qualify for Generation Overrides, you will receive a percentage of all of the volume in that Generation. Percentages paid vary depending on the Paid-as rank you achieve, as well as what number of Generation it is in a particular leg (i.e. the first below you in a leg begins Generation 1 for that leg, if there is an below her, that will begin Generation 2, and so on). Generation Overrides are paid at 80% of the retail value. Generation Overrides are not paid only if a Generation is also paying a Mentor Bonus during the new s first 90 days. earn even more! In addition to regular commissions and product/supply credits, Stylists can earn exclusive swag, hundreds in cash bonuses, and exotic trips around the world through various incentives during the year. To view the current Stylist Incentives, visit the Current Promos tab in your Stylist Back Office. commission payment When commissions are earned, they are paid through a third-party service called ProPay. Each Stylist must create an account with ProPay to receive their commission payment. Base Retail Commissions are paid on a weekly basis. The commission period for weekly commissions is activity from Monday through Sunday, and commissions are then paid out the following Friday. All other commissions earned are paid on a monthly basis and are paid on the 10th (or closest business day to the 10th) of the following month. 3 Compensation Plan_0914

4 glossary of definitions Active A Stylist is considered to be Active for the month when she achieves $200 in Personal Volume (PV). The $200 PV requirement must be met each month to be considered Active for that month. If a Stylist does not meet this requirement by the end of the given month, she will be considered Inactive for the month, and will not be eligible to earn any commissions from her downline. However, she may still earn Base Commissions from commissionable (personal and customer retail orders) purchases even if the $200 PV has not been met. Commissionable purchases count toward PV and Active Status. Active Leg Any first level Stylist and her entire organization where at least one person is considered to be Active. Cancellation Stylists must have a minimum of $600 PRV in a 12-month period in order to remain a Stylist and keep their downline. If they fail to meet this requirement in any 12-month period, their account will be cancelled which causes them to be removed from the company downline organization. Their downline and customers will be compressed to the next currently Active upline Stylist. Career Title A Stylist s Career Title is their recognition title or the highest title they have achieved. A Stylist s Career Title does not change unless they are promoted or demoted, unlike a Paid-as Title, which may vary from month to month. All Stylists with a Career Title of or below will always retain their Career Title and will never demote below their highest earned Career Title. All Stylists with a Career Title of Lead or higher, however, must qualify at their highest earned title at least once every six months in order to retain their Career Title of Lead or higher. Each Stylist is paid at the title for which they qualify during the period (See Paid-As Title). Commissionable Volume (CV) Each item has a Commissionable Value assigned to it. Commissionable Volume (CV) is the volume on which Group Volume and Organizational Volume are calculated, and the volume on which commissions are paid (excluding Base Retail Commissions, and Sales Bonuses). The Commissionable Value is equal to the 80% of the Retail Price. Commissionable Order An order that is eligible for commission payment, and counts toward a Stylist s PV. These orders include Stylist personal orders placed at retail value, and any customer order placed on the Stylist s personal website or through the Stylist s Back Office. Supply, Hostess Free, and Hostess Discounted orders are not considered commissionable and do not count toward PV, GV, or OV. Customer A customer is an individual who purchases products for personal use and has not signed an agreement with Color by Amber. Customers are not allowed to sponsor (i.e. have a downline), do not receive commissions, and are not credited with volume. The volume from a customer s purchase(s) is credited to the Stylist whose website or account the order was placed on. Customers do not hold positions in a Stylist s genealogy. Demotion Policy Lead s and higher must be Paid-as their Career Title at least once every 6 months in order to keep their Career Title. If a Stylist is not Paid-as their Career Title at least once within 6 consecutive months, their Career Title will be demoted to their Paid-As title from the 6th month. There are no demotions for titles lower than Lead. For example, if you qualify for your title in June, you will keep your Career Title until December. If, prior to December, you qualify again in September, you will keep your title until March of next year. Title demotions will occur in the 7th month without qualification. 4 Compensation Plan_0914

5 Downline All of the Stylists who have signed up below you in any level are considered to be part of your Downline, which can also be referred to as your Organization. Frontline Your Frontline refers to all of the Stylists who are enrolled directly beneath you, or those who are on your first level. Group Volume (GV) Group Volume is all of the volume in all of your legs down to but not including the next or above. In other words, it is your entire organization s volume excluding any Generations you may have. Group Volume is calculated at 80% of the retail value. Leg A leg begins when a Stylist signs up on your frontline, or first level. Any Stylists signed up beneath her are considered to be part of that leg. A Stylist has as many legs as she has first level Stylists. Level The position a Stylist has in a downline relative to another upline or downline Stylist. A Stylist on your frontline, or the Stylists you have personally sponsored and signed up directly beneath you are considered your First Level. Stylists who are signed up directly beneath a Stylist on your First Level are considered your Second Level, and so on. Customers are not a part of your levels, and do not occupy a position in a your genealogy. Minimum Commission Check Commissions are issued only if they total $10 or more. Commissions totaling less than $10 will be added to the next month s commission and issued when accumulated commissions total more than $10. Organizational Volume (OV) Group Volume is all of the volume in your entire downline/organization including any Generations you may have. Organizational Volume is calculated at 80% of the retail price. Paid As Title (also referred to as paid-as) Each Stylist is always paid commissions at the title for which they qualify during a given month, which is considered the Paid-as Title for that particular month. The requirements to be paid-as a title is the same as the requirements to promote to that title. If in any period your paid-as title is lower than your Career Title level, you will be paid at the lower title to which you qualify for during the month, but you will retain your Career Title with the exception of Lead s or above who do not achieve their Career Title for 6 consecutive months (See Demotion Policy). Personal Sponsor The Stylist directly above you in the genealogy is considered your Personal Sponsor, and you are considered the Personal Sponsor of all Stylists on your frontline or first level. Personal Volume The total volume of a single Stylist from commissionable orders placed personally, and by her own customers (orders placed by customers on a Stylist s personal website or through her in her Back Office). Host rewards and Host discounted orders do not qualify for PV, or for commissions. Premiere Stylist A Premiere Stylist is a Stylist who joins us as one of the first 1,000 Stylists. Each country has its own Premiere Stylist program. Premiere Stylists enjoy extra perks. 6 Promote (Promotion) A Stylist promotes to a new Career Title when they meet all of the qualifications for that title in a single month. The promotion is effective the first day of the same month meaning that regardless of what day the promotion was actually qualified for, the new Career Title is effective for the entire month. For example, if a Stylist meets the qualifications for for the first time on June 23rd, they promote to the title of for the entire month of June (effective June 1) and will be paid-as an for activity in the entire month of June. Qualified Leg Qualified Legs require that at least one individual in the leg is paid-as a specific title (or above) during the month. Stylists who are in the same leg cannot count separately toward the qualified leg requirement. For example, to be paid-as a Managing Director, you need three Active Legs, two of which must have at least one Stylist that is paid-as a Senior Stylist or higher. If you have two paid-as Senior Stylists in one leg, they would still only count as one Senior Stylist leg, and you would have to get a Stylist in a separate leg to be paid-as a Senior Stylist or above to meet the requirement of two Senior Stylist legs. Qualified legs are determined by the monthly Paid-As Title. Qualified Pop-up A Pop-up must reach $350 PV to count as a qualified Pop-up for purposes of determining if Jumpstart Rewards are achieved. Reactivation Policy Stylists may reactivate only when their Independent Stylist Agreement was terminated as a result of Resignation or Deactivation. Stylists who were terminated by the Home Office may not reactivate at any time. The Home Office reserves the right to deny a request for reactivation. A Stylist who wishes to reactivate must: Wait six months from the date of termination of the Independent Stylist Agreement before reapplying.* Sign up online by submitting a new Stylist Agreement. Purchase a new Stylist Starter Kit at the current price. *If a Stylist would like to reapply within six months of her termination date, she must contact Customer Service to request an exception. Appeals to the six-month policy will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Roll-ups Roll-ups occur when a Stylist who has a team terminates her Independent Stylist Agreement as a result of Resignation, Deactivation, or Home Office Termination. At the time of a Stylist s Roll-up, every Stylist below her will immediately be compressed up to the next currently active upline and become a new leg of that upline. 6 Compensation Plan_0914
