3 THE SASKATCHEWAN THE SASKATCHEWAN GAZETTE 9 FÉVRIER GAZETTE, 2018 JANUARY 18, THE SASKATCHEWAN GAZETTE, FÉVRIER 9, 2018 REVISED REGULATIONS OF SASKATCHEWAN 59 CHAPTER E-13.1 REG 6 Order in Council 54/2018, dated February 2, These regulations may be cited as The Ministry of Corrections and Policing Regulations. Ministry established 2 The ministry of the Government of Saskatchewan called the Ministry of Corrections and Policing is established. Objects and purposes 3 The objects and purposes of the Ministry of Corrections and Policing are to provide the structure wherein and whereby the powers, responsibilities and functions of the Minister of Corrections and Policing may be exercised and carried out in relation to the following: (a) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and implement policies and programs of the Government of Saskatchewan relating to the custody, detention, support and rehabilitation of young offenders and adult offenders; (b) to plan, develop, promote and implement policies and programs of the Government of Saskatchewan related to policing; (c) to plan, develop, furnish, equip, administer, manage, operate, maintain and repair facilities for the care or treatment of persons to whom section 36 of The Summary Offences Procedure Act, 1990 or subsection 30(1) or 42(2) of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Canada) applies. 4 These regulations come into force on the day on which they are filed with the
4 60 THE SASKATCHEWAN GAZETTE, FEBRUARY 9, 2018 CHAPTER E-13.1 REG 7 Order in Council 52/2018, dated February 2, These regulations may be cited as The Ministry of Immigration and Careers Training Regulations. Ministry established 2 The ministry of the Government of Saskatchewan called the Ministry of Immigration and Careers Training is established. Objects and purposes 3 The objects and purposes of the Ministry of Immigration and Careers Training are to provide the structure wherein and whereby the powers, responsibilities and functions of the Minister of Immigration and Careers Training may be exercised and carried out in relation to the following: (a) to co-ordinate, develop, implement, promote and enforce policies and programs of the Government of Saskatchewan related to: (i) training and career-related services; (ii) enhancing learning through the use of technology; and (iii) research and development at post-secondary educational institutions; (b) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and implement policies and programs of the Government of Saskatchewan related to promoting the economic independence and self-reliance of individuals with the following objectives: (i) increasing participation in the labour market; (ii) helping individuals match their employable skills to the needs of employers and the labour market; (c) to co-ordinate, develop, implement, promote and enforce policies and programs of the Government of Saskatchewan related to support for employers in meeting their labour market needs; (d) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and implement policies and programs of the Government of Saskatchewan related to career and employment training and services; (e) to attract immigrants for the following purposes: (i) to contribute to Saskatchewan s economy; (ii) to meet labour market needs for employers;
5 THE SASKATCHEWAN GAZETTE, FÉVRIER 9, (iii) to establish businesses in Saskatchewan; (iv) to join their family members who are already resident in Saskatchewan or to join Saskatchewan communities whose members have a similar culture or origin; (f) to assist immigrants and refugees in settling and integrating in Saskatchewan communities and workplaces; (g) to facilitate the acceptance and reception of immigrants and refugees in Saskatchewan communities and workplaces. 4 These regulations come into force on the day on which they are filed with the CHAPTER E-13.1 REG 8 Order in Council 51/2018, dated February 2, These regulations may be cited as The Ministry of Export and Trade Development Regulations. Ministry established 2 The ministry of the Government of Saskatchewan called the Ministry of Export and Trade Development is established. Objects and purposes 3 The objects and purposes of the Ministry of Export and Trade Development are to provide the structure wherein and whereby the powers, responsibilities and functions of the Minister of Export and Trade Development may be exercised and carried out in relation to the following: (a) to co-ordinate, develop, promote, and implement policies and programs of the Government of Saskatchewan relating to encouraging the growth and expansion of the Saskatchewan economy; (b) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and implement policies and programs of the Government of Saskatchewan that foster innovation and the development of new ideas, products and processes to ensure the growth and expansion of the Saskatchewan economy; (c) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and implement policies and programs of the Government of Saskatchewan that provide business information and advice and investment advice to businesses, local governments, persons, cooperatives, organizations and associations;
6 62 THE SASKATCHEWAN GAZETTE, FEBRUARY 9, 2018 (d) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and implement policies and programs of the Government of Saskatchewan that will provide Saskatchewan businesses with the skills and information they require to be able to excel in the competitive tendering environment inside and outside Saskatchewan; (e) to research and investigate economic issues, strategies and opportunities; (f) to collect and disseminate information respecting the growth and expansion of Saskatchewan s economy; (g) to co-ordinate all efforts by the Government of Saskatchewan related to economic issues, strategies and opportunities within Canada, other jurisdictions in North America and the world; (h) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and implement policies and programs of the Government of Saskatchewan related to trade opportunities and priorities; (i) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and implement policies and programs of the Government of Saskatchewan that foster and advance economic development in northern Saskatchewan; (j) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and implement policies and programs of the Government of Saskatchewan relating to the economic development of First Nations and Métis peoples. 4 These regulations come into force on the day on which they are filed with the
7 THE SASKATCHEWAN GAZETTE, FÉVRIER 9, CHAPTER E-13.1 REG 9 Order in Council 53/2018, dated February 2, These regulations may be cited as The Ministry of Energy and Resources Regulations, Ministry established 2 The ministry of the Government of Saskatchewan called the Ministry of Energy and Resources is established. Objects and purposes 3 The objects and purposes of the Ministry of Energy and Resources are to provide the structure wherein and whereby the powers, responsibilities and functions of the Minister of Energy and Resources may be exercised and carried out in relation to the following: (a) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and implement policies and programs of the Government of Saskatchewan for the economic and orderly development of minerals and mineral resources of Saskatchewan; (b) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and implement policies and programs of the Government of Saskatchewan related to: (i) the exploration for, development of and management of non-renewable resources; and (ii) the development and management of energy; (c) to work together with businesses, communities, governments and ministries to support and encourage the growth and development of the Saskatchewan forestry industry; (d) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and implement policies and programs of the Government of Saskatchewan: (i) to enhance the competitiveness of the Saskatchewan forest industry; (ii) to increase investment in the Saskatchewan forest industry; and (iii) to support and encourage value-added production in the Saskatchewan forest industry. 4 These regulations come into force on the day on which they are filed with the
8 64 THE SASKATCHEWAN GAZETTE, FEBRUARY 9, 2018 SASKATCHEWAN REGULATIONS 9/2018 The Provincial Court Act, 1998 Part IV Commission Order, dated December 29, 2017 (Filed January 30, 2018) 1 These regulations may be cited as The Provincial Court Compensation Amendment Regulations, RRS c-p Reg 2 amended 2 The Provincial Court Compensation Regulations are amended in the manner set forth in these regulations. New section 2 3 Section 2 is repealed and the following substituted: Definitions 2 In these regulations: Act means The Provincial Court Act, 1998; annual period means the period commencing on April 1 in one year and ending on March 31 of the following year; consumer price index means the annual average of the all-items Consumer Price Index for Saskatchewan for a calendar year, as released by Statistics Canada; judge does not include a temporary judge unless otherwise provided; retired judge means a person who has been a judge, on and from the day on which he or she ceases to be a judge. Section 3 amended 4 Subsection 3(3) is repealed and the following substituted: (3) A judge is entitled to be paid an annual salary in the amount of: (a) for the annual period commencing on April 1, 2017, $290,848; (b) for the annual period commencing on April 1, 2018, the sum of the following rounded up to the nearest dollar: (i) the salary mentioned in clause (a); and (ii) the product of: (A) the salary mentioned in clause (a); and (B) the annual increase in the consumer price index for the 2017 calendar year;
9 THE SASKATCHEWAN GAZETTE, FÉVRIER 9, (c) for the annual period commencing on April 1, 2019, the sum of the following rounded up to the nearest dollar: (i) the salary determined pursuant to clause (b); and (ii) the product of: (A) the salary determined pursuant to clause (b); and (B) the annual increase in the consumer price index for the 2018 calendar year plus 0.005; (d) for each annual period commencing on or after April 1, 2020, the sum of the following rounded up to the nearest dollar: (i) the salary determined pursuant to clause (c); and (ii) the product of: (A) the salary determined pursuant to clause (c); and (B) the annual increase in the consumer price index for the 2019 calendar year plus New section 6 5 Section 6 is repealed and the following substituted: Professional allowance 6 For each annual period commencing on or after April 1, 2015, a judge is entitled to be paid an accountable professional allowance of $4,000. Section 7 amended 6 Subsection 7(3) is amended by striking out from one year to the next and substituting from one annual period to the next. 7 These regulations come into force on the day that is determined in accordance with Part IV of The Provincial Court Act, SASKATCHEWAN REGULATIONS 10/2018 Order in Council 50/2018, dated February 2, These regulations may be cited as The Ministry of the Economy Repeal Regulations. RRS c G-5.1 Reg 159 repealed 2 The Ministry of the Economy Regulations, 2014 are repealed. 3 These regulations come into force on the day on which they are filed with the
10 66 THE SASKATCHEWAN GAZETTE, FEBRUARY 9, 2018 SASKATCHEWAN REGULATIONS 11/2018 Order in Council 55/2018, dated February 2, These regulations may be cited as The Ministry of Education Amendment Regulations, RRS c G-5.1 Reg 132, section 3 amended 2 Subsection 3(2) of The Ministry of Education Regulations, 2007 is repealed. 3 These regulations come into force on the day on which they are filed with the SASKATCHEWAN REGULATIONS 12/2018 Order in Council 56/2018, dated February 2, These regulations may be cited as The Ministry of Advanced Education Amendment Regulations, RRS c G-5.1 Reg 153, section 3 amended 2 Section 3 of The Ministry of Advanced Education Regulations is amended: (a) by renumbering it as subsection 3(1); and (b) by adding the following subsection after subsection (1): (2) In addition to the objects and purposes mentioned in subsection (1), the objects and purposes of the Ministry of Advanced Education are the following: (a) to provide the structure wherein and whereby the powers, responsibilities and functions of the Minister Responsible for the Status of Women may be exercised and carried out; (b) to monitor programs, services and initiatives of the Government of Saskatchewan to determine their impact on women and on families and to recommend modifications to those programs, services and initiatives. 3 These regulations come into force on the day on which they are filed with the
