5 WHAT IS A 401K? A 401(k) is a retirement savings plan sponsored by an employer. It lets workers save and invest a piece of their paycheck before taxes are taken out. Taxes aren't paid until the money is withdrawn from the account.
6 WHAT IS AN IRA? An Individual Retirement Account (IRA) is a type of savings account that is designed to help you save for retirement and offers many tax advantages. There are two different types of IRAs: Traditional and Roth IRAs.
7 WHAT IS A SELF-DIRECTED IRA? A self-directed IRA is an IRA (Roth, Traditional, SEP, Inherited IRA, SIMPLE) where the custodian of the account allows the IRA to invest into any investment allowed by law. These investments typically include; real estate, promissory notes, precious metals, and private company stock. Visit:

Fill out an application Have your driver s license handy Copy of your statement from your current IRA or 401k Transfer/Rollover funds Contribute to Your New Account (Always check with your tax advisor before making a contribution)
12 PLEASE REMEMBER THE REQUIRED MINIMUM DISTRIBUTION (RMD) At 70 ½ the IRS requires you to remove a certain percentage from your IRA otherwise you ll be penalized
13 BUYING AN ASSET Once you have your self-directed IRA open and funded, it s time to invest. You can invest your IRA dollars in anything except life insurance contracts and collectibles.
