2 This Combined Financial Services Guide (FSG) is an important document that provides you with the information you need about Austsafe Pty Ltd and Link Advice Pty Limited (as authorising Australian Financial Services Licensees) and the types of financial services we provide. The purpose of this FSG is to: Provide you with information that will assist you in deciding whether to use any of the services detailed in this FSG Tell you about how our staff are paid, and Explain your rights as a client, including how to contact us and how to make a complaint. You may also receive a Product Disclosure Statement (PDS). A PDS is a document that explains the main features, benefits, fees and risks associated with that financial product. Any information that you receive from us will be of a general nature only and is not tailored to your particular circumstances. Because of this, you need to consider if the advice is right for you, having regard to your own personal objectives, financial situation and needs, before you take any action. Before making any decisions to acquire an AustSafe Super product, you should read the applicable PDS available at austsafe.com.au or by calling us on The Authorising Licensees This combined FSG is jointly issued by Austsafe Pty Ltd (ABN , AFSL , MySuper UI ) ( the Trustee ) and Link Advice Pty Limited (ABN , AFSL No ) (Link Advice). The Trustee (Austsafe Pty Ltd) is the trustee of AustSafe Super (ABN ) ( the Fund ), an industry super fund that provides superannuation for rural and regional Australia. The financial products issued by the Trustee include: AustSafe Super Industry Super, AustSafe Super Personal Super, and AustSafe Super Pension. The Trustee is responsible for general advice provided by the Trustee and its representatives. 2

3 Link Advice is responsible for general advice provided by Link Advice and its representatives (including employees of related bodies corporate), particularly Australian Administration Services Pty Limited (ABN ) (AAS), who provides administration and call centre services to the Fund. Financial Services and advice we can provide The Trustee is authorised to: Provide general financial product advice, and Deal in a financial product by issuing, applying for, acquiring, varying or disposing of a financial product, in respect to superannuation. Link Advice is authorised (among other things) to: Provide general financial product advice, and Deal in a financial product by applying for, acquiring, varying or disposing of a financial product on behalf of another person, in relation to superannuation products. The Trustee is not authorised to provide personal financial product advice. For personal advice, you should consider seeking the services of a financial planner. In some circumstances, we may refer you to a financial planning service provider, contracted by the Trustee - Industry Fund Services Limited (AFSL , ABN ) (IFS), which operates under its own AFSL. Where this occurs, the IFS Financial Planner will give you a separate Financial Services Guide that applies to the provision of that advice. Neither the Trustee, nor Link Advice are responsible for IFS or its representatives. Compensation arrangements The Trustee and Link Advice are covered by Professional Indemnity insurance which complies with s912b of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth). This insurance provides cover for work performed by representatives and employees of the Trustee and Link Advice including after they have ceased their employment with the Trustee and Link Advice. 3

4 Relationships and associations we have which might influence the financial service provided Austsafe Pty Ltd (ABN AFSL RSE License L ) has engaged Industry Fund Services Limited (IFS) (ABN AFSL No ) to facilitate the provision of financial advice to members of Austsafe Pty Ltd. IFS is responsible for any advice given to you by its Representatives. Whether you receive advice about your super under this arrangement, or from any other financial planner, you may pay a fee. IFS Representatives will advise you in advance of the amount of the fee, but you should note that in some circumstances the fee may be able to be paid from your account, subject to authorisation and certain restrictions. The Financial Services Guide provided by the IFS Representative will give a general outline of potential fees. The specific fees that apply to you will be detailed in the Statement of Advice that you will receive. No commissions are paid to IFS by the Trustee. The Trustee has contracted AAS to provide administration and call centre services to the Fund. When you call the Customer Service Centre, you will speak with someone from AAS. They can provide information about the Fund s products or your AustSafe Super account, and also process any forms or transactions on behalf of the Fund. The Trustee pays AAS a fee for these services. Link Advice is a wholly owned subsidiary of AAS. AAS and Link Advice are members of the Link Group of companies. For more information about the Link Group please visit Each service provider is selected on its ability to perform relevant activities and is monitored on a regular basis. The Trustee does not believe that its arrangements with AAS, IFS or any other service providers it uses, influences in any way, the general financial product advice that may be provided to members. What commissions/fees do representatives receive? All employees of the Trustee are paid a salary. Employees do not receive any commissions, bonuses or special payment for providing general financial product advice in relation to our products. Some staff are paid bonuses for 4

5 meeting specified key performance indicators which are not related to the provision of financial product advice. As an industry superannuation fund, the Fund exists only to benefit members. The Trustee levies fees and charges on Fund Members to cover the operating costs of the Fund (including administration costs). All fees charged are used to cover the costs of daily operations (which may include a provision for reserves) and to build better services for our members (including those offered in this guide). Costs associated with providing general financial product advice are included in the administration fees charged to all members. Fees and other costs are outlined in the relevant Product Disclosure Statement and the Your Super Guide available via austsafe.com.au Generally, as authorising Licensee, Link Advice does not receive remuneration relating to the services offered in this guide. Rather, as noted above, AAS receives fees paid to it, by the Trustee for the contracted administration services that it provides to the Fund (including the services offered in this guide). Neither the Trustee, nor Link Advice (or their respective representatives) pay, or receive, any commissions for the advice they provide. Representatives are salaried employees of either the Trustee or Link Advice (or its related bodies corporate). How we treat your personal information The privacy and security of your personal information is important to us. Your information will be collected and handled in accordance with privacy policies that are in line with the requirements of privacy legislation. 6 Giving instructions to AustSafe Super The Fund has a range of forms that you can use to provide specific instructions to a representative of the Trustee or AAS. If you cannot access the form you need, you can provide your instructions to us in writing. Some instructions may also be given over the phone, or via , or our secure online services. As already noted, most of these instructions will be received in the first place by AAS staff of who will process your instructions on behalf of the Trustee. Conflicts of interest The Trustee and Link Advice have in place governance policies and procedures to enable us to consider and manage any potential conflicts of interest. These include the directors and staff of the Trustee and Link Advice declaring any such potential conflicts, which will then be assessed and recorded in the applicable register. What should you do if you have an enquiry or complaint? The Trustee and Link Advice are committed to handling complaints quickly, fairly and in the strictest confidence. The SCT is an independent body set up by the Federal Government to assist members or their beneficiaries to resolve certain superannuation complaints. The SCT may be able to assist you to resolve your complaint, but will only become involved after you have made use of AustSafe Super s own complaint handling process. 6
