3 Actron Molded-Case Circuit Breakers Offer: Advanced COTS (commercialoff-the-shelf) Technology Actron circuit breakers are based on leading commercial circuit breaker technologies. Advanced Features Actron circuit breaker features allow increased automation and reduced manning through local and remote state monitoring of circuit breaker parameters. Among the many new features are RMS Sensing, Rating Plugs, Adjustable Short-Time Delay Trip, Adjustable Instantaneous Settings up to 50 times the frame rating, Ground Fault Detection, Real-Time State Monitoring, Bidirectional Communications and Control Functions and more. Universal Circuit Breaker Application Each Actron circuit breaker can be used for the complete range of continuous current settings of that frame size. Significantly Reduced Logistics Costs The universal application of the Actron circuit breakers reduces parts inventory and maintenance, which lowers logistics costs. Interchangeability with Existing Circuit Breakers Actron circuit breakers meet the form, fit and function requirements of existing circuit breakers in the Navy fleet. Enhanced Features The electronic design of the Actron circuit breakers allows for higher endurance rating for the shunt trip and undervoltage features, as much as four times to six times higher than older and competitive models. Increased Adjustable Instantaneous Settings Actron circuit breakers have adjustable instantaneous settings as high as 50 times the frame rating, providing increased selectivity, flexibility and reduced cost. Significantly Increased Coordination The Actron series represents a whole new generation of smart, tough, reliable circuit breakers that have won the United States Navy s QPL approval rating. In fact, the Navy s own analysis conducted on surface combatants shows that electronic circuit breakers achieve a 70% increase in electrical coordination over older and competitive models. More Automation, Reduced Manning Actron circuit breakers have microprocessors that automatically and continuously monitor a host of current parameters. This provides the capability for on-board automation and reduces manpower requirements and costs. Less Hardware, Lower Costs In the past, Navy circuit breakers used either thermal magnetic or electromechanical trip units for overcurrent protection. By integrating electronic overcurrent protection in the Actron circuit breakers, L-3/SPD Electrical Systems eliminates the need for costly trip units. Every frame size has all-continuous current settings included and requires only a change in the switch settings or rating plug. This provides simplified ordering, application versatility, reduced parts inventory and reduced maintenance resulting in manpower savings.
