Our team of 30 lawyers are specialists in advising on complex and international disputes and are supported by our wider dispute resolution team as and when client requirements dictate. Consequently we are able to handle very large commercial disputes in the UK and overseas Courts, as well as in specialist seats of international arbitration. However, in many cases perpetrators will flee to another jurisdiction in an effort to make themselves judgment proof meaning significant sums of money have to be spent to pursue a claim with no certainty of an outcome. For many businesses this can be enough to dissuade you from considering litigation in other jurisdictions. This is where we can help you. Risk-sharing solutions To support clients in pursuing these claims - provided we believe the case is likely to succeed and a recovery will be made - we are prepared to undertake litigation dispute resolution at risk. We will act for you without cost to your business on the basis that we recover a proportion of the proceeds to meet our fees and expenses from the successful claim. This is known as a damages based agreement. We will agree with you at the outset the percentage of recoveries that will be returned to you if and when the claim is ultimately successful. This gives you certainty in the knowledge as to the proportion of the recovery you will receive while taking the risk away from you.
