1 Savings and Investments Profile Selector The Profile Selector is a tool designed to help you: Determine what type of investor you are Decide how to diversify your portfolio across various asset categories to match your investor profile Build a portfolio of La Capitale products that fits your profile, with the right level of diversification and balance for you
2 Your Investor Profile Do you know your investor profile? To find out, just answer a few simple questions below about your goals, your tolerance to risk, your investment horizon and knowledge and your overall financial situation. With your financial security advisor, add together your score from questions 6, 7 and 8 and evaluate your answers to the other questions. This will show you your investor profile. Indicate what type of investment plan this profile is being created for: RRSP Spousal RRSP RRIF Spousal RRIF LIRA LIF TFSA Non-registered 1. How would you describe your level of investment expertise? Limited I don't really know anything about investments. Fair I am somewhat familiar with the various types of investment options. Good I know quite a lot about the different types of investments that are available. Excellent I keep abreast of what's happening in the financial markets and I understand how financial products work. 2. What is your investment horizon? 0 Less than 1 year 1 1 to 3 years 2 3 to 5 years 4 5 to 10 years 5 10 to 20 years 7 20 years or more 6. What are your investment goals? 0 Security Protecting my capital is most important to me. 1 Income I want to earn income from this investment or be able to withdraw certain amounts from time to time. 3 Balance I am looking for an investment that offers a balance of income and growth. 7 Growth I want my capital to grow. 10 Speculation I want to speculate with the amounts invested. 7. How would you describe your tolerance to risk when it comes to investing your money? 0 Very low I don't want my capital to fluctuate with the ups and downs of the financial markets. 1 Low Protecting my capital is important to me but I accept that values and returns may vary slightly up or down. 2 Low to medium I would prefer my capital to be stable but I am willing to accept a certain degree of risk in the hope of obtaining better returns in the long term. I understand that the value of my investments may go down in the short term. 5 Medium To take advantage of the potential for growth that certain products offer, I accept that the value of my investments will fluctuate up or down. 7 Medium to high I understand that the amounts I invest may substantially fluctuate up or down. 10 High To take full advantage of the highest potential returns, I am willing to accept that my investments may suffer significant losses that I may not be able to recover.
