1 TravelPAC Insurance Policy WHEREAS the Insured Person named in the Schedule hereto has by a proposal and declaration which shall be the basis of this contract and is deemed to be incorporated herein, applied to ZURICH GENERAL INSURANCE MALAYSIA BERHAD ( V) (hereinafter called the Company ) for the insurance hereinafter contained. This Policy is issued in consideration of the payment of premium as specified in the Policy Schedule and pursuant to the answers given in your Proposal Form (or when you applied for this insurance) and any other disclosures made by you between the time of submission of your Proposal Form (or when you applied for this insurance) and the time this contract is entered into. The answers and any other disclosures given by you shall form part of this contract of insurance between you and us. However, in the event of any pre-contractual misrepresentation made in relation to your answers or in any disclosures given by you, only the remedies in Schedule 9 of the Financial Services Act 2013 will apply. This Policy reflects the terms and conditions of the contract of insurance as agreed between you and us. NOW THIS POLICY OF INSURANCE WITHNESSETH that if during the Period of Insurance and outbound traveling the Insured Person shall sustain bodily injury caused by accidental means in which the injury solely and independently from of any other cause, result in the Insured Person s death or disablement as hereinafter defined or necessitate medical and/or hospital and surgical treatment due to accident and/or illness as hereinafter defined the Company will, subject to the terms, provisions, exclusions and conditions of and endorsed on this Policy (which terms, provisions, exclusions and conditions shall so far as the nature of them respectively will permit, be deemed conditions precedent to the right to recover under this Policy) pay to the Insured Person or in the event of death, to the Insured Person s legal personal representative the sum or sums of money specified in the Schedule and in accordance to the Table of Benefits. This is your TravelPAC Insurance Policy. Please examine it to ensure that You have the protection You need. It is important that this policy document together with the Schedule, Certificate of Insurance and any amendment or endorsement issued by the Company from time to time are read together to avoid any misunderstanding. HOW YOUR INSURANCE OPERATES Your TravelPAC Policy is a contract between Us, the Company, and You, Our Insured named in the Schedule of Certificate of Insurance. The application form, declaration and any information You gave to Us when applying for the Policy, are the basis of this contract. In return for Your payment of premium, We will provide You with insurance cover as described in the Policy during the Period of Insurance or any subsequent period for which You Pay and We have accepted the required premium. IMPORTANT CONDITIONS (Conditions to be satisfied for this insurance to operate) The insurance operates only if all of the following conditions are satisfied: (a) it is a round Trip commencing in and returning to Malaysia, each Trip not exceeding 182 consecutive days except for annual cover where each Trip shall not exceed 90 consecutive days; (b) for one-way Trip, coverage shall be terminated within 7 days upon arrival in overseas; (c) all Insured Persons are in good health and are not travelling contrary to the advice of any Medical Practitioner or for the purpose of obtaining medical treatment; (d) at the time of arranging the Trip and/or effecting this insurance neither You nor any other Insured Person is aware of any circumstances which are likely to lead to cancellation or curtailment of the Trip; 2273/3/P/G/S/M

2 (e) at the time You must submit Your application for this insurance, none of the intended Insured Persons have already left Malaysia for any Trip meant to be covered by this insurance; and (f) any Child Insured Person under the age of 16 years will be accompanied by a parent or Adult guardian during the Trip. SPECIAL WARRANTY / CONDITION PRECEDENT TO LIABILITY It is a special warranty in this TravelPAC policy that any person(s) who travel daily or up to weekly basis to the same neighboring country for employment or business purposes will not be entitled to any benefits under the Annual Gold policy. GENERAL DEFINITIONS Certain words have been defined below. These have the same meaning wherever they are used in the Policy. They appear in bold print (e.g. Insured Person) or begin with a capital letter (e.g. You, Your) Accident an event which happens suddenly and gives rise to a result which the Insured Person did not intend or anticipate. Act of Terrorism an act, including the use of force or violence, of any person or group(s) of persons, whether acting alone or on behalf of or in connection with any organisation(s), committed for political, religious or ideological purposes including the intention to influence any government and/or to put the civilian population in fear for such purposes. Adult a person aged 16 years and above at the commencement of any Journey/Trip. Alternative Medicine shall mean treatment which is carried out by a registered traditional medicine practitioner, osteopath, physiotherapist and/or chiropractor other than yourself or a member of your immediate Family Member. Common Carrier means any bus, coach, ferry, hovercraft, hydrofoil, ship, tram, monorail, or train, provided and operated by a carrier duly licensed for the regular transportation of fare-paying passengers and any aircraft provided and operated by an airline or air charter company which is duly licensed for the regular transportation of fare-paying passengers. Child a person who is unemployed and unmarried, aged above 1 month old and below 16 years at the commencement of any Journey/Trip. The Company/We/Us/Our Zurich General Insurance Malaysia Berhad, which shall include the permitted assign and successor in title. Cover Type The level of cover selected by the Insured at the time of the Insured s insurance application: (1) Silver Plan, Gold Plan or Annual Gold Plan (2) Insured Cover, Insured and Spouse Cover or Family Cover as stated in the Schedule. Insured Persons aged 70 years and above are entitled to 50% of the Benefit under Section 1, 3, 4. Excess means the first part of each and every claim that You are required to bear yourself. Family Cover a Policy issued to the Insured, his/her legal spouse and all Insured s accompanying children aged above 30 days and below 16 years named in the Schedule. Insured s spouse and each of Insured s children receive the same benefit amount as the Insured. Family Members Insured s spouse, parents, parents-in-law, grandparents, children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters and legally adopted child(ren) or siblings, all residents in Insured s home country. Handling Agent a travel agent with a valid license and registered with the Ministry of Tourism. Home the Home address of the Insured and/or an Insured Person residing in Malaysia. Hospital refers to a lawfully operating institution for the care and treatment of sick and injured persons, which has 24 hours nursing services by registered graduate nurses, one or more Medical Practitioners available at all times and organised facilities for diagnosis and major surgery, which shall not primarily be a clinic, a place for alcoholics or drugs addicts, a nursing, rest or convalescent home, home for the aged or similar establishment.

3 Hospital Confinement means the Insured Person being confined in a registered hospital as a registered in-patient because of medical necessity and on the advice of a Medical Practitioner. One day of Hospital Confinement means a continuous 24-hour period for which the hospital makes a charge for room and board. Illness any sudden and unexpected deterioration of health of an Insured Person due to a medical condition contracted, commencing or manifesting during the Journey Overseas or incurred in East Malaysia for West Malaysia residents and vise versa which requires the treatment by a Medical Practitioner. Individual Cover a Policy issued to the Insured named in the Schedule. Injury bodily injury to the Insured Person occurring during the Journey caused solely and directly by an Accident and not by sickness, disease or gradual physical or mental wear and tear. Insured/You/Your the Insured named in the Schedule of the policy. Insured Person each person described in the Policy Schedule must be a Malaysian, Permanent Resident, Work Permit Holder, Employment Pass Holder or otherwise legally employed in Malaysia and/or his/her legal Spouse and Children for whom the insurance is arranged. Insured and Spouse Cover a Policy issued to the Insured and his/her legal Spouse named in the Schedule. Spouse receives the same benefits as Insured. Journey/Trip 1. If your Policy is for a Single Trip (Two-Way Cover): a Journey/Trip during the Period of Insurance beginning at the time the Insured Person leaves his/her Home or workplace within Malaysia for the purpose of commencing the travel abroad until the Insured Person s return to his/her Home or workplace in Malaysia (not exceeding 182 consecutive days) or on the expiry date of the Period of Insurance shown in the Schedule, whichever is sooner. 2. If your Policy is an Annual Cover: a Journey/Trip during the Period of Insurance beginning at the time the Insured Person leaves his/her Home or workplace within Malaysia for the purpose of commencing the travel abroad until the Insured Person s return to his/her home or workplace in Malaysia (not exceeding 90 consecutive days) or on the expiry date of the Period of Insurance shown in the Schedule, whichever is sooner. Medically Necessary shall mean a medical service which is: (a) consistent with the diagnosis and customary medical treatment for a covered Injury and or Illness; (b) in accordance with standards of good medical practice, consistent with current standard of professional medical care, and of proven medical benefits, and; (c) not for the convenience of the Insured Person or the Medical Practitioner, and unable to be reasonably rendered out of hospital (if admitted as an inpatient), and; (d) not of an experimental, investigational or research nature, preventive or screening nature; (e) for which the charges are fair and reasonable and customary for the Injury and or Illness. Medical Practitioner a legally registered Medical Practitioner qualified to practice Western medicine and surgery in accordance to the applicable laws of the country in which the practice is granted. The Medical Practitioner shall not be an Insured Person, an Insured Person s spouse, Travel Companion, a business partner or an employer or employee or agent of an Insured Person, or a person related to an Insured Person in any way. Overseas means any destination outside of Malaysia. Period of Insurance the Period of coverage specified in the policy Schedule. Pre-Existing Condition Disabilities that the Insured Person has reasonable knowledge of in the twelve (12) months prior to the inception of the Period of Insurance. An Insured Person may be considered to have reasonable knowledge of a pre-existing condition where the condition is one for which: (a) the Insured Person had received or is receiving treatment;

4 (b) (c) (d) medical advice, diagnosis, care or treatment has been recommended; clear and distinct symptoms are or were evident; or its existence would have been apparent to a reasonable person in the circumstance. Region of Travel Area 1 Australia, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Macau, Maldives, Myanmar, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. Area 2 Worldwide including USA and Canada, but excludes Malaysia. Schedule the Schedule containing details of the Insured, Insured Person(s), Cover type and Period of Insurance. The Schedule forms part of the Policy. The Service Provider 24-hour worldwide helpline assistance by Asia Assistance Network (M) Sdn Bhd hereinafter known as the Service Provider. Travel Companion an accompanying person without whom the Journey cannot commence or continue.

6 DEFINITION OF BENEFITS Subject to the terms conditions and exclusions of this Policy, the Company will pay/reimburse as follows in the event claim occur during the Period of Insurance according to the Cover Type the Insured has selected. A. PERSONAL ACCIDENT BENEFITS SECTION 1 - ACCIDENTAL DEATH AND PERMANENT DISABLEMENT Whilst in the journey, We will pay the compensation for death or disablement as described below if an Insured Person suffers Injury during the Journey which within twelve (12) calendar months of its happening is the sole cause of the death or such disablement. Table of Compensation Death Permanent Total Disablement for which satisfactory proof has been given to the Company that the total disablement has continued for twelve (12) months from the date of the Injury and will in all probability continue for the remainder of the Insured Person s life and prevent the Insured Person from attending to any kind of business, profession or occupation Total and irrecoverable loss of sight in one or both eyes Loss by physical severance at or above the wrist or ankle or the total and permanent loss of use of an entire hand, arm, foot or leg } } } } } } } } } 100% of the Limit of Benefit If the Insured Person suffers Injury that results in more than one of the results described in item 1 to 4 of the above, the maximum We will pay is 100% of the Limit of Benefit in the aggregate. SECTION 2 - CHILD EDUCATION GRANT In the event of death of an Adult Insured Person resulting from Injury sustained during the Journey Overseas (or incurred in East Malaysia for West Malaysia residents and vice versa) which within twelve (12) calendar months of its happening, We will pay an amount stated in the Schedule as child education grant, provided always the Adult Insured Person at the time of his/her death has school-going biological child or legally adopted school-going child aged above 6 years and below 16 years or up to 23 years of age if studying full time in a recognised institution of higher learning. (i) (ii) The amount payable is regardless of the number of child(ren). B. MEDICAL AND OTHER EXPENSES SECTION 3 - OVERSEAS MEDICAL EXPENSES If an Insured Person suffers Injury or Illness during a Journey Overseas (or incurred in East Malaysia for West Malaysia residents and vice versa), We will reimburse the Medically Necessary medical, surgical, nursing or hospital charges incurred at the direction of a Medical Practitioner including emergency dental treatment expenses incurred to restore (not replace) sound and natural teeth for each Insured Person. In addition, We will reimburse the necessary additional expenses incurred in respect of reasonable additional charges for accommodation if it is necessary for the Insured Person to stay beyond the intended return date and additional travel expenses to get back to the Insured Person s Home if the return ticket cannot be used.

7 3(a) Necessary Alternative Medicine treatment expenses incurred as a result of an accident or illness up to a limit of RM500, subject to the overall Overseas Medical Expenses limit as stated in the Schedule whereby the treatment is carried out by a registered traditional medicine practitioner, osteopath, physiotherapist and/or chiropractor. A claim must be accompanied with an official payment receipt. (i) (ii) Insured Persons aged 70 years and above are entitled to 50% of the Benefit stated in Section 1, 3, 4. SECTION 4 - FOLLOW-UP TREATMENT IN MALAYSIA If an Insured Person has obtained medical treatment during the Journey Overseas (or incurred in East Malaysia for West Malaysia residents and vice versa) for an Injury or Illness suffered during the overseas Journey, We will reimburse for the medical expenses which are a continuation in Malaysia of such Overseas medical treatment. Provided such expenses are incurred not more than ninety (90) days after the Insured Person s return to Malaysia. 4(a) If the initial treatment for the Injury or Illness sustained by the Insured Person was not sought during the Overseas Journey, the reimbursement is limited to the outpatient treatment of up to a maximum of RM500 incurred within 24 hours after the Insured Person s arrival to Malaysia up to the limit stated in the Schedule of benefit. (i) (ii) Insured Persons aged 70 years and above are entitled to 50% of the Benefit stated in Section 1, 3, 4. SECTION 5 - OVERSEAS HOSPITAL INCOME We will pay for the Insured Person s Hospital Confinement during the Journey Overseas (or incurred in East Malaysia for West Malaysia residents and vice versa) due to Injury or Illness sustained during the overseas Journey. SECTION 6-17 INFECTIOUS DISEASES COVER In the event the Insured Person contracts one of the 17 infectious diseases stated hereunder during the Journey Overseas (or incurred in East Malaysia for West Malaysia residents and vice versa) which requires the Insured Person to be quarantine in a Hospital, either by Law or on the advice of a Medical Practitioner. We will pay a daily benefit up to the limit stated in the Schedule. 8 (11) (12) (13) (14) (15) (16) (17) Rabies Legionnaires Disease Avian Influenza or Bird Flu due to Influenza A viral strains H5N1, H9N2 or H7N7 Hand Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD) Tuberculosis Measles Chikungunya SECTION 7 - CHILD CARE BENEFIT In the event that an Adult Insured Person is hospitalised for more than three (3) consecutive days during the Journey Overseas (or incurred in East Malaysia for West Malaysia residents and vice versa) as a result of Injury or Illness and there is no other Adult to accompany the Child(ren) who is(are) on the same Journey, We will reimburse the reasonable travel (economy air travel, first class rail travel) and hotel accommodation (3-Stars and below) expenses necessarily incurred by one family member, relative or friend to travel overseas to accompany the Child(ren) back to Malaysia. The benefits under this Section do not apply to a Child Insured Person. Excess of RM 50 for each and every incident giving rise to a claim is applicable to this Section 7. Please refer to the Specific Exclusions applicable to Sections 7 to 11 and the Section on Exclusions SECTION 8 - COMPASSIONATE VISIT (DUE TO INJURY, ILLNESS OR DEATH) In the event that an Insured Person is hospitalised Overseas as a result of Injury or Illness for more than three (3) consecutive days and no Adult member of the Insured Person s family is with him/her, We will reimburse the reasonable travel (economy air travel, first class rail travel) and hotel accommodation (3-Stars and below) expenses necessarily incurred by one member of the Insured Person s immediate family or friend who, on the written advice of a Medical Practitioner, is required to travel from Malaysia to be with Insured Person until the Insured Person is able to resume his/her journey or return to Malaysia, whichever occurs first. The benefit also applies in the event of the death of an Insured Person from an Injury sustained during the Journey Overseas (or incurred in East Malaysia for West Malaysia residents and vice versa). The benefit under this Section is only payable for one claim made on either Injury or Death but not both. Excess of RM 50 for each and every incident giving rise to a claim is applicable to this Section 8. Please refer to the Specific Exclusions applicable to Sections 7 to 11 and the Section on Exclusions SECTION 9 - EMERGENCY MEDICAL EVACUATION The Company has an agreement with Asia Assistance Network (M) Sdn Bhd (hereinafter known as the Service Provider, to provide a comprehensive international medical assistance programme. This value added service programme is specially provided to all Insured Persons (hereinafter known as Insured Person ) of the TravelPAC Policy. Should an Insured Person suffers Injury or Illness during the Journey Overseas (or incurred in East Malaysia for West Malaysia residents and vice versa) which results in a Serious Medical Condition, the Service Provider will organise the air and/or surface transportation, medical care during transportation, communications, and all usual ancillary services made available to Service Provider which are required when moving the Insured Person to the nearest hospital where appropriate medical care is available. The Service Provider retains the absolute right to decide the place to which the Insured Person will be evacuated and the means or method by which such evacuation will be carried out having regard to all the assessed facts and circumstances of which the Service Provider is aware at the relevant time.

9 For the purpose of this Section, Serious Medical Condition means a condition which in the opinion of Service Provider constitutes a serious medical emergency requiring emergency urgent remedial treatment to avoid death or serious impairment to the Insured Person s immediate or long term health prospects. The seriousness of the medical condition will be judged within the context of the Insured Person s geographical location, the nature of the medical emergency and the local availability of mobile medical equipment and medical escort crew. The maximum aggregate limit payable is RM 1,000,000 for any one (Period of Insurance) regardless of the number of events or Insured Persons involved. The maximum limit payable under Sections 9 to 10 shall be aggregated and shall not exceed the maximum limit applicable under this Section 9 Emergency Medical Evacuation Please refer to the Specific Exclusions applicable to Sections 7 to 11 and the Section on Exclusions SECTION 10 - EMERGENCY MEDICAL REPATRIATION In the event that you are hospitalized abroad and if deem medically necessary by the Service Provider, the Service Provider will arrange and pay for the repatriation of the Insured Person to Malaysia by scheduled airline flight (on economy class) or any other appropriate means of transportation, including any supplementary cost purpose, provided that the Insured Person shall surrender any unused portion of his/her ticket to the Company. The maximum aggregate limit payable is RM 1,000,000 for any one Period of Insurance regardless of the number of events or Insured Persons involved. The maximum limit payable under Sections 9 to 10 shall be aggregated and shall not exceed the maximum limit applicable under this Section 10 Emergency Medical Evacuation Please refer to the Specific Exclusions applicable to Sections 7 to 11 and the Section on Exclusions SECTION 11 - REPATRIATION OF MORTAL REMAINS Upon the death of an Insured Person during the Journey Overseas (or incurred in East Malaysia for West Malaysia residents and vice versa) resulting from an Injury or Illness sustained during the Overseas Journey, We will reimburse the reasonable expenses incurred for the funeral or burial and the Service Provider will make all the necessary arrangements (including any procedures or arrangements necessary to meet local formalities) for the repatriation of the Insured Person s body or ashes to the Insured Person s Home in Malaysia. Please refer to the Specific Exclusions applicable to Sections 7 to 11 and the Section on Exclusions SPECIFIC EXCLUSIONS APPLICABLE TO SECTION 7 TO 11 The Company and/or the Service Provider shall not be liable for: (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6) (7) (8) Services rendered without the authorization and/or intervention of the Service Provider. Services provided by any party other than the Service Provider for which no charge is usually made. Medical Treatment administered by relatives and/or family member of the Insured Person whether qualified or not. Costs which are payable in the event giving rise to the intervention of the Service Provider had not occurred. Any expense more specifically covered in whole or in part under any other insurance policy, except for its rateable proportion thereof. Minor Illness or Injury which in the opinion of the Service Provider s Medical Practitioner can be adequately treated locally and which do not prevent the Insured person from continuing the travel. Expenses incurred where in the opinion of the Service Provider s Medical Practitioner, the Insured Person is physically able to return to Malaysia sitting as a formal passenger and without medical escort. All circumstances described under the General Exclusions of this Policy.

10 C. TRAVEL INCONVENIENCE BENEFITS SECTION 12 - BAGGAGE AND PERSONAL EFFECTS We will reimburse for accidental loss of or damage during the Journey to personal baggage and personal effects (including clothing worn) and Valuables taken or owned by the Insured Person which are not recoverable from any other source. The luggage, personal effects and valuables must be owned by the Insured Person and in his/her possession and/or accompany him/her and include suitcase, trunks, hand luggage and the like receptacles as well as their contents. Valuables means jewellery, gold and silver articles, watches and precious stones or semi-process stones owned by the Insured Person. All Valuables are only covered against theft and only if carried by the Insured Person or while deposited with and under the care of a hotel. Any Valuables loss due to the negligence of the Insured Person will not be covered. Subject to a maximum sub-limit in respect of each Insured Person for any single article, pair or set of articles is RM 500 or up to 40% of the limit for this Section in respect of Valuables whichever is lower. Provided such losses are not recoverable from any other source. The loss must be reported to the Police having jurisdiction at the place of the loss not more than 24 hours after the incident. Any claim must be accompanied by written documentation from the Police. Excess 1) Excess of RM 50 for each and every incident giving rise to a claim is applicable in this Section 12. 2) For baggage that is repairable, Excess of RM50 shall not be applicable. 3) For total loss of baggage, Excess of RM 50 for each and every incident giving rise to a claim is applicable. SECTION 13 - PERSONAL MONEY AND TRAVEL DOCUMENTS We will reimburse up to RM 1,000 in aggregate for loss of an Insured Person s cash, banknotes or traveller s cheques carried by the Insured Person arising out of robbery, burglary or theft while the Insured Person is Overseas (or in East Malaysia for West Malaysia residents and vice versa) during the Journey. We will also reimburse the reasonable additional accommodation, travel expenses and communication expenses necessarily incurred in obtaining new passport or visa and/or travel documents due to loss by robbery, burglary or theft while the Insured Person is Overseas (or incurred in East Malaysia for West Malaysia residents and vice versa) during the Journey. Any loss due to the negligence of the Insured Person will not be covered. Provided such losses are not recoverable from any other source. The loss must be reported to the Police having jurisdiction at the place of the loss not more than 24 hours after the incident. Any claim must be accompanied by written documentation from the Police. Excess of RM 50 for each and every incident giving rise to a claim is applicable to this Section 13. SECTION 14 - BAGGAGE DELAY We will pay the Insured Person (subject to the limit of benefits payable), if the Insured Person s checked-in baggage is temporarily lost in transit or misdirected by the Common Carrier and not restored to the Insured Person within six (6) hours of his/her arrival time at the scheduled destination Overseas (or incurred in East Malaysia for West Malaysia residents and vice versa).

11 SECTION 15 - LOSS OF DEPOSIT OR CANCELLATION We will reimburse the unused travel fare, accommodation charges and deposits the Insured Person has paid or payments which the Insured Person is legally obliged to pay and which are not recoverable from any other source, if the Journey is unavoidably cancelled due to any of the following reasons provided the Insured Person has purchased this insurance not later than seven (7) days prior to commencement of trip. (1) death, Serious Injury or Serious Illness of the Insured Person or his/her spouse, parent, parent-in-law, grandparent, child or their spouses, grandchild, brother, sister or Travel Companion or of any person with whom the Insured Person have arranged to stay with, provided such Serious Injury or Serious Illness requires hospitalisation of no less than 3 days; (2) being called as a witness in the Court of Law in Malaysia or the compulsory quarantine of the Insured Person or his/her Travel Companion; (3) the Insured Person s Home or place of business in Malaysia becoming uninhabitable or being seriously damaged following burglary, fire, flood, typhoon, earthquake or landslip which requires the Insured Person s continued presence in Malaysia; (4) adverse weather conditions, the unexpected outbreak of Strike, Civil Unrest, Riot, Commotion occurring within fourteen (14) days prior to the commencement of trip which is beyond the Insured Person s control at the planned destination that will put the Insured Person s life in danger. Cancellation defines unavoidable termination of the Journey after it is arranged but before it is commenced. Excess of RM 50 for each and every incident giving rise to a claim is applicable to this Section 15. This policy will only pay for any claim either under Section 15 or Section 16 but not both. SECTION 16 - TRAVEL CURTAILMENT We will reimburse the unused travel fare, accommodation charges and deposits the Insured Person has paid or payments which the Insured Person is legally obliged to pay and which are not recoverable from any other source, if the Journey is unavoidably curtailed after its commencement due to any of the following reasons occurring during the Journey: (1) death, Serious Injury or Serious Illness of the Insured Person or his/her spouse, parent, parent-in-law, grandparent, child or their spouses, grandchild, brother, sister or Travel Companion or of any person with whom the Insured Person have arranged to stay with provided that a written confirmation of the nature of such Serious Injury or Serious Illness is received from a registered Medical Practitioner; Serious Injury or Serious Illness defines a critical or dangerous Injury or Illness which in the opinion of a Medical Practitioner requires urgent remedial treatment to avoid death or serious impairment to an Insured Person s immediate or long term health prospects; (2) being called as a witness in the Court of Law in Malaysia or the compulsory quarantine of the Insured Person or his/her Travel Companion; (3) the Insured Person s Home or place of business in Malaysia becoming uninhabitable or being seriously damaged following burglary, fire, flood, typhoon, earthquake or landslip which requires the Insured Person s continued presence in Malaysia; (4) adverse weather condition, the unexpected outbreak of Strike, Civil Unrest, Riot, Commotion occurring within fourteen (14) days prior to the commencement of trip which is beyond the Insured Person s control at the planned destination that will put the Insured Person s life in danger.

12 Curtailment defines returning Home before the scheduled return date, in which case a proportion of non refundable, pre-paid charges will be refunded. A proportion of travel expenses will be refunded only if the Insured Person cannot use the return ticket and is not recovering travel expenses under another Section of this Policy. Excess of RM 50 for each and every incident giving rise to a claim is applicable to this Section 16. This policy will only pay for any claim either under Section 15 or Section 16 but not both. SECTION 17 - MISSED DEPARTURE We will reimburse the reasonable expenses incurred in respect of hotel accommodation (3-Stars and below), meals or refreshments and necessary travel expenses (economy air travel, first class rail travel) up to the limit for this Section if not provided for or compensated by the Common Carrier or any other third party in the event that the Insured Person misses his/her scheduled departure from the Insured Person s accommodation or business place Overseas as a result of failure of Common Carrier services including taxi/cab to get the Insured Person to the departure port stated in the scheduled ticket. Written verification must be obtained from the Common Carrier services stating the time of mechanical breakdown. Excess of RM 50 for each and every incident giving rise to a claim is applicable to this Section 17. Where a claim under this Section 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 & 36 resulting from the same occurrence, this Policy will reimburse claim under one of the Sections only. SECTION 18 - CANCELLATION DUE TO DELAY In the event that the planned Journey is cancelled due to the delay from adverse weather condition, Strike, Riot, Civil Commotion or the mechanical breakdown or derangement of the Common Carrier whilst the Insured Person continue with the rest of the Journey, We will reimburse the Insured Person irrecoverable deposits or charges paid in advance or contracted to be paid for those parts that are cancelled, up to the limit stated in the table of benefits. To qualify for this benefit, the Insured Person must have checked-in in accordance with the original itinerary and obtain written confirmation from the Common Carrier or operator stating the reason and length of delay. Where a claim under this Section 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 & 36 resulting from the same occurrence, this Policy will reimburse claim under one of the Sections only. SECTION 19 - TRAVEL OVERBOOKED We will pay the Insured Person in the event that the Insured Person s confirmed Common Carrier is overbooked by the scheduled Common Carrier company which results in a delay in departure of the onward scheduled Common Carrier and no alternative onward or transportation is made available to you within the first six (6) hours from the actual departure time. Provided such losses are not recoverable from any other source. Written verification must be obtained from the Insured Person s Common Carrier or operator showing the Common Carrier is overbooked.

13 Where a claim under this Section 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 & 36 resulting from the same occurrence, this Policy will reimburse claim under one of the Sections only. SECTION 20 - TRAVEL MISCONNECTION We will pay the Insured Person in the event that the Insured Person misses his/her confirmed onward travel connection during the Journey Overseas (or incurred in East Malaysia for West Malaysia residents and vice versa) due to the late arrival of the incoming scheduled Common Carrier or as a result of a delay in departure of the onward connecting Common Carrier and no alternative onward or transportation is made available to the Insured Person for more than six (6) consecutive hours from the actual arrival time. Written verification must be obtained from the Insured Person s Common Carrier or operator stating the scheduled departure time and the actual departure time of the Journey. Where a claim under this Section 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 & 36 resulting from the same occurrence, this Policy will reimburse claim under one of the Sections only. SECTION 21 - TRAVEL REROUTE We will pay the Insured Person in the event his/her covered scheduled Common Carrier is delayed for six (6) consecutive hours from the original schedule arrival time as specified in the Insured Person s printed itinerary due to rerouting of the scheduled Common Carrier. Written verification must be obtained from the Insured Person s Common Carrier or operator stating the number of hours delayed in the Journey. Where a claim under this Section 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 & 36 resulting from the same occurrence, this Policy will reimburse claim under one of the Sections only. SECTION 22 - CHARTERED FLIGHT (SCHEDULED) In the event that the chartered flight has been delayed during the Journey Overseas (or incurred in East Malaysia for West Malaysia residents and vice versa) due to adverse weather condition, Strike, Riot, Civil Commotion or the mechanical breakdown or derangement of the Common Carrier, We will pay each Insured Person according to the Schedule of Benefits for every ten (10) consecutive hours. Provided such losses are not recoverable from any other source. Written verification must be obtained from the Insured Person s Common Carrier or operator stating the number of hours delayed in the Journey.

14 SECTION 23 - LOSS OF DEPOSIT / FULL PAYMENT DUE TO INSOLVENCY OF AIRLINES We will reimburse the unused travel fare, accommodation charges and deposits the Insured Person has paid or payments which the Insured Person is legally obliged to pay and which are not recoverable from any other source, if the Journey is unavoidably cancelled due to the bankruptcy or insolvency of the licensed Airlines that was engaged for the Insured Person s travel arrangements resulting in the Insured Person s inability to commence or continue the Journey. SECTION 24 - PERSONAL CREDIT CARD THEFT If the Adult Insured Person suffers financial loss as a direct result of the fraudulent use of his/her credit card(s) following theft during the Journey Overseas (or incurred in East Malaysia for West Malaysia residents and vice versa), We will reimburse such unauthorised transactions subject to the limit stated in the Schedule. The loss must be reported to the credit card company(s) within 3 hours of the incident. Any claim must be accompanied by a report issued by the credit card company(s), Police or relevant authorities and provided that losses are not recoverable from any other sources. D. LIABILITY PROTECTION SECTION 25 - PERSONAL LIABILITY We will indemnify each Insured Person against all sums which the Insured Person becomes legally liable to pay as compensation for accidents which happen during the Journey Overseas (or incurred in East Malaysia for West Malaysia residents and vice versa) and which result in: (a) (b) death or Injury of any other person; loss of or damage to property belonging to other persons. Regardless of the number of Insured Persons involved, the maximum amount payable under this Section in respect of any one occurrence or series of occurrences consequent upon one source or an original cause and in aggregate for all occurrences in any one Period of Insurance inclusive any legal costs and expenses awarded against or incurred by the Insured Persons with our written permission subject to the limit stated in the Schedule of Benefits. E. BONUS COVER SECTION 26 - HOME CARE BENEFIT We will indemnify the Adult Insured Person against physical loss or damage to the Insured Person s Home Contents within his/her Home in Malaysia that was left vacant because of the Journey, caused by fire or theft accompanied by actual, forcible and violent entry/exit to the residence during the Period of Insurance, but only after the Insured Person is Overseas (or in East Malaysia for West Malaysia residents and vice versa). The loss must be reported to the police within 6 hours upon arrival in Malaysia. Any claim must be accompanied by a report issued by the Police or relevant authorities and provided that losses are not recoverable from any other sources.

15 Home Contents refers to household furniture and furnishing, domestic appliances, audio and video equipment, clothing and personal effects belonging to the Insured Person or the Insured Person s Immediate Family Members permanently residing with the Insured Person excluding travellers cheques, securities, cash, documents of any kind, perishable goods, livestock, motor vehicles, bicycles, boats and any accessories attaching to them. SECTION 27 - RENTAL CAR EXCESS COVER If during a Journey Overseas (or incurred in East Malaysia for West Malaysia residents and vice versa), an Adult Insured Person rents or hires a car, or a campervan (a) (b) from a licensed rental agency, and the rental agreement includes an excess (or deductible or similar condition) which makes the Insured Person liable for loss or damage to the rental vehicle We will reimburse the excess if the Insured Person becomes legally liable to pay this amount provided that: (a) (b) (c) (d) it is a result of accidental loss or damage to the vehicle caused by collision or theft while it is in the Insured Person s control, the Insured Person has complied with all requirements of the rental agreement, the Insured Person was at the time of the accident duly licensed to drive the vehicle and was not taking part in or practicing for speed or time trials of any kind, and no payment shall be made for any loss or damage arising from wear and tear, gradual deterioration, damage from insects or vermin, inherent vice, latent defect or damage. Excess of RM 50 for each and every incident giving rise to a claim is applicable to this Section 27. SECTION 28 - KIDNAP / HOSTAGE / HIJACKING We will pay a daily benefit in the event that the Insured Person is kidnapped or wrongly confined, abducted or restrained by criminal force for every 24 hours during the Journey while Overseas (or in East Malaysia for West Malaysian residents and vice versa). For the purpose of this Section, the kidnap cannot be committed by any Insured Person or his/her family member, Travel Companion or close business associate whether acting alone or in collusion with others. The kidnap must have actually occurred and reported to the Police having jurisdiction at the place of the event within 24 hours after such incident has ended. Any claim must be accompanied by written documentation from the Police. SECTION 29 - OUTSTANDING CREDIT CARD BALANCE We will reimburse the Insured Person s outstanding travel fares owing to the credit card company(s) under extended payment of interest free installment plan if his/her Overseas Hospital Confinement is more than 3 days consecutively.

16 SECTION 30 - DOMESTIC PET CARE If an Adult Insured Person is unable to return to Malaysia on the scheduled return date due to Injury or Illness or delay of the Common Carrier which he/she is booked on, We will pay the Insured Person s pet (dog and/or cat only) continued stay at the pet hotel/kennel or cattery where the pet is deposited with during the Insured Person s Journey Overseas (or incurred in East Malaysia for West Malaysia residents and vice versa) following his/her inability to collect the pet on the scheduled collection date. The payment amount is regardless of the number of pet dogs/cats The following documents must be produced to obtain benefit under this Section: (a) (b) (c) Written confirmation from the Common Carrier or operator stating the reasons and length of delay, Written confirmation from the pet hotel/kennel/cattery stating the period of stay of the Insured Person s pet and the collection date arranged prior to his/her Journey Overseas (or incurred in East Malaysia for West Malaysia residents and vice versa) and the period of extended stay, Medical report or certificate from a Medical Practitioner advising delay of planned travel on medical grounds covered under Section 3 Overseas Medical Expenses SECTION 31 - LOSS OF USE OF HOTEL FACILITIES In the event that an Insured Person suffers loss of booked hotel accommodation as a result of fire, flood, riot, strike, civil commotion during the Overseas Journey, We will pay the additional expenses incurred for alternative accommodation for each day of unavailability of such prepaid hotel accommodation booking up to the limit of this Section shown below. To qualify for this benefit, the Insured Person must have checked-in in accordance with the original itinerary and obtained written communication from the hotel or their handling agents stating the duration and reason of finding an alternative accommodation. In the event that the Insured Person is prevented from checking-in the pre-booked hotel accommodation due to contingencies mentioned above, a written confirmation from the hotel or their handling agents stating the duration and reason for finding alternative accommodation must be obtained to substantiate a claim under this Section. SECTION 32 - LOSS OF USE OF ENTERTAINMENT TICKET We will reimburse the unused entertainment ticket charges and deposits the Insured Person has paid or payments which the Insured Person is legally obliged to pay and which are not recoverable from any other source, during the Journey Overseas (or incurred in East Malaysia for West Malaysia residents and vice versa) due to any of the following reasons: (1) death, Serious Injury or Serious Illness of the Insured Person or his/her spouse, parent, parent-in-law, grandparent, child or their spouses, grandchild, brother, sister or Travel Companion or of any person with whom the Insured Person have arranged to stay with, provided such Serious Injury or Serious Illness requires hospitalisation of no less than 3 days; (2) adverse weather condition, the unexpected outbreak of Strike, Civil Unrest, Riot, Commotion occurring within fourteen (14) days prior to the commencement of trip which is beyond the Insured Person s control at the planned destination that will put the Insured Person s life in danger; (3) compulsory quarantine of the Insured Person or his/her Travel Companion;
