The Contest is open to legal residents of Canada, excluding Quebec, who are 19 years of age or older. No purchase is necessary. Void in whole or part where prohibited by law. Please review these contest rules (the Contest Rules ) carefully, and ensure that you understand and agree with them. Entry in the Contest constitutes acceptance of the Contest Rules. NOTE REGARDING PRIVACY: Personal information required to enter the Contest, and optionally to receive additional information about the Royal BC Museum, is collected under the authority of Section 5 of the Museum Act (SBC 2003, c.12) and Section 26 of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (RSBC 1996, c.165). ELIGIBILITY. To be eligible for the Contest, an individual must: a. be a legal resident of Canada, excluding Quebec; and b. be 19 years of age or older at the time of entry; and c. correctly complete and submit the online entry form Employees of the Royal BC Museum, BC Ferries, Hotel Grand Pacific, Royal Scot Hotel & Suites, University of Victoria including the University of Victoria Vikes, Flight Centre and Insight Vacations (collectively, the "Sponsors"), their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, related companies, advertising and promotional agencies, and the household members and/or the immediate family of any of the above, are not eligible to participate in the Contest. For the purposes of the Contest Rules, immediate family" means husband, wife, spouse, mother, father, brother, sister, son and/or daughter, including step-parents, stepsiblings and step-children, whether or not they reside in the same household. Sponsors shall have the right at any time to require proof of identity and/or eligibility to participate in the Contest. Failure to provide such proof may result in disqualification. All personal and other information requested by and supplied to Sponsors for the purpose of this Contest must be truthful, complete, accurate and in no way misleading. Sponsors (or any of them) reserve the right to disqualify any entry or entrant in its or their sole discretion, should any entry or entrant at any stage contain and/or supply untruthful, incomplete, inaccurate or misleading personal details and/or information. 2. CONTEST PERIOD. The Contest begins at 12:01 AM Pacific Daylight Time ( PDT ) on Thursday, July 24, 2014 and closes at 12:00 PM PDT (noon) on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 (the "Contest Period"). 3. HOW TO ENTER. There is no purchase necessary to enter the Contest. To enter, go to royalbcmuseum.bc.ca/vikings/contest to learn more about the Contest, the prizes and Contest rules. Then proceed through the steps to enter via the online Contest entry form. Your submission will only be entered in the Contest if: you have confirmed that you are a resident of Canada, excluding

2 Quebec; you have verified that you are at least 19 years of age; you have agreed to be bound by the Contest Rules; and you have correctly completed the online entry form. Each of these entry criteria must be met for your submission to be considered as a valid Contest entry. Entries cannot be submitted by any other means. Limit one entry per individual. a. The Sponsors may, from time to time, post news about the Contest on their websites and through social media. No direct communication or correspondence will be exchanged with entrants about the contest, other than with the entrants selected for the First Prize, Second Prize, Third Prize and Grand Prize. 4. PRIZES. There will be four (4) prizes ( Prizes ) awarded during the contests, one each to the Contest winners ( Winners ). Descriptions of each of the Prizes, including applicable conditions and restrictions, are as follows: First Prize has an approximate retail value of seven hundred dollars (CDN $700), and comprises: o A BC Ferries pass that includes one (1) passenger vehicle and two (2) passengers for a return trip on selected routes to and from Victoria o Two night hotel accommodation at the Hotel Grand Pacific in Victoria o Family admission to the Royal BC Museum including the feature exhibition Vikings: Lives Beyond the Legends o Family admission to IMAX Victoria to see Vikings: Journey to New Worlds Second Prize has an approximate retail value of six hundred and twenty dollars (CDN $620), and comprises: o A BC Ferries pass that includes one (1) passenger vehicle and two (2) passengers for a return trip on selected routes to and from Victoria o Two night hotel accommodation at the Royal Scot Hotel & Suites in Victoria o Family admission to the Royal BC Museum including the feature exhibition Vikings: Lives Beyond the Legends o Family admission to IMAX Victoria to see Vikings: Journey to New Worlds Third Prize has an approximate retail value of two hundred and sixty dollars (CDN $260), and comprises: o Vikes Family Season Pass for the 2014/2015 season o Four (4) University of Victoria Vikes T-shirts o Family admission to the Royal BC Museum including the feature exhibition Vikings: Lives Beyond the Legends o Family admission to IMAX Victoria to see Vikings: Journey to New Worlds Grand Prize has an approximate retail value of five thousand dollars (CDN $5,000), and comprises: o 5 day Gems of Britain land tour for two (2) people provided by Insight Vacations o Return flight for two (2) people from any major airport in Canada (Flight value not exceeding $2,500 total) provided by Flight Centre CONDITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS: a. Winners must use the individual prize elements by their respective expiry dates. Should the Winners be unable to use the Prize elements on the dates and times designated by Sponsors, the affected Prize element(s) will be forfeited, and no refunds, credits or other compensation will be provided. The Winners are responsible for additional transportation to and from locations that comprise part of the Prizes, as well as any other costs and expenses not specifically listed as being included in the Prizes. 3 b. BC Ferry Voucher Conditions: Pass valid on all routes except Inside Passage, Discovery Coast Passage and Haida Gwaii routes (Routes 10, 40 and 11). One voucher per passenger. Voucher includes fuel surcharges and the Nanaimo Port Authority fees (where applicable). Passenger vehicle definition is up to 20 feet long. Additional charges per crossing apply if vehicle is over length. Voucher does not include reservations. Additional charges may apply. Voucher will not be replaced if lost, stolen, destroyed, altered or damaged. No refunds and no cash value. Voucher expires February 28, No extensions. Hotel Grand Pacific Voucher Conditions: Valid for two (2) nights accommodation in a Victoria Guest Room. Subject to availability. Subject to blackout dates including Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend. Reservations required for all services. Includes parking. Original voucher must be presented upon arrival. Voucher will not be replaced if lost, stolen, destroyed, altered or damaged. Voucher expires November 11, No extensions. Royal Scot Hotel & Suites Voucher Conditions: Valid for two (2) nights accommodation for two (2) people in a one bedroom suite. Subject to availability. Voucher expires December 31, No extensions. Vikes 2014/2015 Family Season Pass Conditions: Valid between September 2014 and February Includes four (4) entrance tickets for two (2) adults and two (2) youth ages 7 12 years old. Includes four (4) Vikes T-shirts. Only original letters will be accepted. Must be presented at the ticket office (Rm 179-McKinnon Building) before game day. Voucher will not be replaced if lost, stolen, destroyed, altered or damaged. Voucher expires February 28, No extensions. Royal BC Museum Admission Conditions: Valid two (2) adults 19+ and three (3) youth ages 6 18 years old. Includes feature exhibition Vikings: Lives Beyond the Legends. Original tickets must be presented upon arrival. Tickets will not be replaced if lost, stolen, destroyed, altered or damaged. Tickets expire November 11, 2014 (exhibition closing date). No extensions. IMAX Victoria Admission Conditions: Valid for two (2) Adults and three (3) Youth ages 5 18 years old. Valid for Vikings: Journey to New Worlds movie only. Original tickets must be presented upon arrival. Tickets will not be replaced if lost, stolen, destroyed, altered or damaged. Tickets expire November 30, 2014 (movie closing date). No extensions Flight Centre Conditions: Valid for two (2) return flights from any major airport in Canada provided by Flight Centre. Flight value must not exceed $2,500 total. Both parties must depart from the same airport. Must be booked in advance. Travel must be completed by October 31, No extensions. Insight Vacations Conditions: Valid for two (2) land seats for Gems of Britain tour. Not valid for any other tour. Must be booked in advance. Based on double occupancy. Certificate will not be replaced if lost, stolen, destroyed, altered or damaged. Travel must be completed by October 31, No extensions. c. The Winners must comply with the Contest Rules, and sign and return the Release (described below). d. The Prizes must be accepted as awarded and cannot be transferred, assigned, substituted or redeemed for cash or any alternative prize, or any combination thereof. 5. WINNER SELECTION. Page 3 of 6

On Thursday, August 7, 2014 in Victoria, British Columbia, one (1) potential Winner will be selected by a random draw from all eligible and accepted entries received by that date. The odds of being selected as a potential Winner are dependent upon the number of eligible and accepted entries received. Before being declared a Winner, the selected potential Winner will be required to answer, without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question during a pre-arranged telephone call, comply with these Contest Rules, and sign and return the Release (described below). All decisions of the Sponsors will be final and binding and may not be challenged in any way. One (1) Winner shall be selected for the Second Prize as follows: b. On Thursday, September 4, 2014 in Victoria, British Columbia, one (1) potential Winner will be selected by a random draw from all eligible and accepted entries received by that date. The odds of being selected as a potential Winner are dependent upon the number of eligible and accepted entries received. Before being declared a Winner, the selected potential Winner will be required to answer, without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question during a pre-arranged telephone call, comply with these Contest Rules, and sign and return the Release (described below). On Tuesday, November 11, 2014 in Victoria, British Columbia, one (1) potential Winner will be selected by a random draw from all eligible and accepted entries received by that date. Winners of First Prize, Second Prize and Third Prize are re-entered and are eligible to win the grand prize draw. The odds of being selected as a potential Winner are dependent upon the number of eligible and accepted Entries received. Before being declared a Winner, the selected potential Winner shall be required to answer, without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question during a pre-arranged telephone call, comply with these Contest Rules, and sign and return the Release (described below). All decisions of the Sponsors will be final and binding and may not be challenged in any way. THE SELECTED POTENTIAL PRIZE WINNERS WILL BE NOTIFIED BY TELEPHONE CALL OR E- MAIL TO THE PHONE NUMBER OR ADDRESSS INDICATED ON THE ENTRY, NO LATER THAN FIVE (5) BUSINESS DAYS AFTER THE PRIZE DRAW DATE. UPON NOTIFICATION, THE SELECTED POTENTIAL WINNERS MUST RESPOND BY TELEPHONE OR TO THE CONTACT NUMBER PROVIDED IN THE NOTIFICATION, AND THE SELECTED POTENTIAL WINNER S RESPONSE MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE SPONSORS WITHIN TWO (2) WEEKS OF SUCH NOTIFICATION. If a selected potential Winner does not respond in accordance with these Contest Rules, he/she will be disqualified and will not receive the Prize, and another potential Winner will be selected. Sponsors are not responsible for the failure for any reason whatsoever of a selected potential Winner to receive notification, or for any failure by the Sponsors to receive a selected potential Winner s response. 5 6. RELEASE. The Winners and, as applicable, their guests with whom they share any Prizes, will be required to execute a legal agreement and release ( Release ) confirming: (i) the Winner s eligibility for the Contest and compliance with the Contest Rules; (ii) acceptance of the Prizes as offered; (iii) release of each of the Sponsors and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, directors, officers, suppliers, agents, sponsors and administrators (collectively, the Releasees ) by the Winners and their guests, from any and all liability for any loss, harm, damages, cost or expense arising out of participation in this Contest, participation in any Contest-related activity or the acceptance, use, or misuse of any prize, including but not limited to costs, injuries, losses related to personal injuries, death, damage to, loss or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation, or portrayal in a false light, or from any and all claims of third parties arising therefrom; and (iv) grant to the Sponsors of the unrestricted right, in the Sponsors collective or individual discretion, to produce, reproduce, publish, broadcast, communicate by telecommunication, exhibit, distribute, adapt and otherwise use or re-use the Winners and their guests names, photographs, likenesses, voice and story submission, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, in connection with the Contest and the promotion and exploitation thereof. The executed Releases must be returned within two (2) weeks of notification or the selected potential Winner will be disqualified and the Prizes forfeited. 7. INDEMNIFICATION BY ENTRANT. By entering the Contest, entrant releases and holds Releasees harmless from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind to the entrant, Releasees or any other person, including personal injury, death, or property damage, resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize, participation in this Contest, any breach of these Contest Rules, or in any prize-related activity. The entrant agrees to fully indemnify Releasees from any and all claims by third parties relating to the Contest, without limitation. 8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY. Sponsors assume no responsibility or liability for lost, late, misdirected or incomplete Contest entries, notifications, responses, replies or any Release, or for any computer, online, telephone, hardware, software or technical malfunctions that may occur, including but not limited to malfunctions that may affect the transmission or non-transmission of an entry. Sponsors are not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by website users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest or by any technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Contest. Sponsors assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. Sponsors are not responsible for any problems, failures or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, providers, computer equipment, software, , players, or browsers, on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet, at any website, or on account of any combination of the foregoing. Sponsors are not responsible for any injury or damage to entrants or to any computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading materials in this Contest. Entrant assumes liability for injuries caused or claimed to be caused by participating in the Contest, or by the acceptance, possession, use of, or failure to receive any prize. Sponsors assume no responsibility or liability in the event that the Contest cannot be conducted as planned for any reason, including those reasons beyond the control of the Sponsors, such as infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or corruption of the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest or any website related to the Contest. 9. CONDUCT. By entering this Contest, entrant agrees to be bound by these Contest Rules, which will available on the Royal BC Museum website located at royalbcmuseum.bc.ca/vikings/contest throughout the Contest Period. Entrant further agrees to be bound by the decisions of the Sponsors, which shall be final and binding in all respects. Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to disqualify any entrant found to be: (a) violating the Contest Rules; (b) tampering or attempting to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or any website related to the Contest; (c) violating the terms of service, conditions or use and/or general rules or guidelines of any Royal BC Museum or other Sponsor property or service; and/or (d) acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. Caution: Any attempt to deliberately damage any website related to the Contest or to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil laws. 6 and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law or in equity, including but not limited to criminal prosecution. 10. PRIVACY/USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION. By participating in the Contest, the entrant grants to the Sponsors the right to: (a) use his or her personal information for the purpose of administering the Contest; (b) use his or her name, photograph, likeness, voice, prize information and/or biographical information for publicity and promotional purposes without further compensation unless prohibited by law; and (c) use his or her name and his or her respective city and province of residence in connection with any website related to the Contest and/or in any media now known or hereafter devised. Personal information will not be provided to any third party other than as provided for in these Contest Rules. Sponsors and any third party agents of the Sponsors will use personal information only for purposes related to this Contest. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY. All intellectual property, including but not limited to copyright, trade-marks, trade names, logos, and designs in any forms, entries, promotional materials, web pages, software, drawings, illustrations, slogans and representations are owned by Sponsors and/or their affiliates. All rights are reserved. Unauthorized copying or use of any trademarks, copyrighted materials or other intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited. 12. TERMINATION. Sponsors reserve the right, in its and their sole discretion, to terminate the Contest, in whole or in part, and/or modify, amend or suspend the Contest, and/or the Contest Rules in any way, at any time, for any reason without prior notice. 13. LAW. These are official Contest Rules. This Contest is subject to applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. These Contest Rules are subject to change without notice in order to comply with any applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws or the policy of any other entity having jurisdiction over the Sponsors. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of the Contest Rules or the rights and obligations as between the entrant and the Sponsors in connection with the Contest shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the province of British Columbia and the laws of Canada applicable therein, including procedural provisions but without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions that would cause the application of any other jurisdiction s laws.
