2 PREVIOUS Revamped Funeral Products On 1 October we launched our revamped Funeral products. The revamped range provides our customers and their loved ones with more. More cover, more benefits and more peace of mind. The original Funeral Range sold well over the years. However, customers needs have changed and we reviewed our existing range to meet these needs. The revamped range still has three Plans - Care Plan, Standard Plan and Value+ Plan. Four innovative features distinguish this new range from the previous one. n Single Adult Family cover is new. This means that single parents can cover their dependants without having to pay for another adult. n The Cash back benefit for the Standard and Value+ Plans has been improved in terms of frequency so that the customer receives more. n Taking more cover will cost customers less as the premium rate per R1000 cover reduces the more cover a customer purchases. n No underwriting means we will no longer ask customers healthrelated questions when they purchase cover. n Improved value adds through More4U, which provides additional value for our customers and their families. Overall, the new Plans offer customers good value for money. You also have a competitive product range added to your basket. Who will benefit? The Plans are suitable for customers who want help to provide a funeral for themselves and/or their loved ones. As the Plans require no underwriting, not even medical questions, the sales process is streamlined for both customers and intermediaries. Plan Options The different Plan Options allow for individuals, immediate family such as children and spouses, parents, parents-in-law and extended family to be covered and has and additional option for single adult families. The maximum starting cover available on the Care Plan is R for immediate family, parents and parents-in-law and R for extended family members. For Standard and Value+ Plans, the maximum cover is R for Single Adult Family, Family and Individual Plans, R for Parents Plans and R for Extended Plans. The total starting maximum cover applicable to any one life across all MFC funeral benefits is R Key benefits available on all the Plans include a lump-sum of money towards funeral costs, immediate accidental death cover, Money Back Guarantee, the Premium Holiday, Restart benefit and CPI-related premium and cover increases. In most cases, replacing existing funeral plans with a new funeral plan is not in the customer s best interest, because of new waiting periods that apply, and they will lose their Cash backs. Revamped value adds More good news is that More4U, the rebranded and improved Family Support Services (FSS), launched on 1 October Watch out for more news about it. The launch of the revamped Funeral Range and the revised value adds (More4U) is a great reason for you to visit customers and tell them about it.

6 ing pregnancy and once their bundle of joy arrives, they may have access to discounted baby and maternity products. From 1 October 2014, new and existing Retail Mass Market policyholders and members of Burial Society Support Plans and Group Funeral Solutions have access to the rebranded customer value adds, More4U - at no additional cost. More4U continues to offer the value adds that were available under Family Support Services (FSS): n Legal Wellness n Emergency Medical Responce n Trauma, Assault and HIV Support n Funeral Support In addition to these, three new value adds have been added: n Financial Wellness n Health and Wellbeing n Education Support For further clarity on which customers qualify for what value adds, refer to the table on the right. Why an expanded offering? More4U was designed with the diverse needs of our customers in mind and is a comprehensive financial, health and wellbeing offering. We added the three new value adds as a result of some research findings. For instance, 95% of Old Mutual customers want help with their finances [1] and the National Credit Regulator found that 47.5% of general South African consumers have impaired credit records [2]. Many customers are also faced with illegal garnishee orders (payroll deductions from unscrupulous creditors) and multiple deductions of unsecured credit at high interest rates. New value adds Financial Wellness offers access to credit coaches who can help customers obtain their credit score, improve their credit status and help them manage their finances better. Health and Wellbeing includes maternity support. This helpline will provide new mothers (and fathers) with information and assistance regard- Over the last 10 years, through FSS, customers have had access to Emergency Medical Response which is still part of the More4U offering. We know that many South Africans are faced with extreme health challenges living in a country where TB, for instance, is still the highest single cause of natural deaths and one in five adults are HIV-positive [4]. Health and Wellbeing now offers one preventative health screening per year at no additional cost. In addition, customers can also arrange for can also arrange for a flu inoculation at no additional cost at any time but especially before the winter coughs and sneezes are upon us. More4U will furthermore provide access to a network of doctors, dentists and optometrists throughout South Africa at discounted rates. In response to the 87% of our customers who asked for help with their children s education [3], Education Support provides access to a Teacher-On-Line helpline. Qualified teachers will assist with primary and high school subjects including Mathematics and General Science. Discounts on school products will be made available throughout the year. The four services previously available on FSS, now part of More4U, will continue to assist customers when it comes to their legal needs, when they need support for trauma, assault and HIV or when they need help in a medical emergency. Customers can access these value adds by dialling the More4U helpline on To find out more visit MORE4U FOR PLANS PROTECTION PLANS* SAVINGS PLANS** Financial Wellness Legal Wellness Emergency Medical Response Trauma, Assault & HIV Support Heath & Wellbeing - Helpline - Annual Health Screen - Medical Professionals Discounts - Maternity Support & Helpline Education Support Funeral Support * Policyholders of Life and Funeral Plans and members of Burial Society Support Plans and Group Funeral Solutions. ** Including 2-IN-ONE, Retirement, Education and Investment Plans.
