Fifth Street, G14D6 Los Angeles, CA el: Fax: December 28, 2017 Advice No (U 904 G) Public Utilities Commission of the State of California Subject: January 1, 2018 Consolidated ate Update Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) hereby submits for approval by the California Public Utilities Commission (Commission) revisions to SoCalGas' tariff schedules, applicable throughout its service territory, as shown on Attachment A, to be effective January 1, Purpose his filing consolidates SoCalGas rate adjustments authorized by the Commission pursuant to decisions and advice letters effective January 1, nformation his advice letter implements the rate adjustments requested by compliance Advice No. (AL) 5202, Annual egulatory Account Balance Update; AL 5134 and D , Advanced Meter nfrastructure evenue equirement; D , 2016 General ate Case (GC) Post-est Year Attrition; D , Cost of Capital Update; esolutions G and G-3533 the 2015 ransmission ntegrity Management Program Balancing Accounts; and esolution E-4897, 2015 and 2016 Efficiency Savings and Performance ncentive Awards adjusted per D for isk/eward ncentive Mechanism (M) Adjustment. Annual egulatory Account Balance Update - AL 5202 SoCalGas AL 5202, dated October 16, 2017 and approved by letter dated December 18, 2017, proposed implementing the annual update of regulatory account balances for amortization in 2018 rates. he AL complied with the longstanding practice of updating SoCalGas revenue requirement for projected year-end regulatory account balances, as authorized in D , SoCalGas most recent CAP. AL 5202 proposed a $82.4 million increase and $18.4 million increase in SoCalGas transportation revenue requirement for core and noncore customers, respectively, resulting in a total increase of

3 Advice No December 28, 2017 $100.8 million (with Franchise Fees & Uncollectibles (FF&U)). n addition, AL 5202 proposed a decrease in the revenue requirement for Backbone ransportation Service (BS) of $40.8 million (with FF&U). Moreover, AL 5202 revised SoCalGas revenue requirement for Company-Use (CU) Fuel and Unaccounted For (UAF) Gas costs. For 2018, SoCalGas forecasted an average gas price of $3.12/MMBtu, a decrease of $0.26/MMBtu from the $3.38/MMBtu currently in rates, resulting in a decrease in the authorized costs for CU Fuel and UAF Gas of $2.31 million (with FF&U) compared to the present revenue requirement. Advance Meter nfrastructure (AM) evenue equirement for AL 5134 Pursuant to D , SoCalGas most recent GC Decision, SoCalGas filed AL 5134 which, among other things, extends the AM revenue requirement to reflect the total costs and benefits which will be collected in rates beginning on January 1, he total net revenue requirement shown on AL 5134 is $35.4 million ($36.0 million with FF&U). his revenue requirement is decreased by $4.26 million with FF&U per D , Cost of Capital rue Up Adjustment. he total revenue requirement for AM for 2018 will be $31.78 million ($31.24 million without FF&U), reflecting a decrease of $48.2 million ($47.38 million without FF&U). AL 5134 was approved by disposition letter dated June 5, GC Post-est Year Attrition - D SoCalGas is implementing its 2018 post-test year attrition adjustment of 3.50%, or $76.6 million, which was authorized by Ordering Paragraph (OP) 1 of D Cost of Capital rue Up Adjustment Pursuant to D , which trued up the authorized cost of debt and preferred equity, SoCalGas 2018 revenue requirement decreases by $30.3 million ransmission ntegrity Management Program (MP) Balancing Accounts - esolutions G-3528 and G-3533 Pursuant to D , which authorized SoCalGas to establish a two-way balancing account to recover actual Operations & Maintenance (O&M) expenses and Capital Expenditures for compliance with the MP, SoCalGas filed AL 5057 and SDG&E filed AL 2529-G. esolution G-3528 approves the recovery of SoCalGas 2015 ransmission ntegrity Management Program Balancing Account (MPBA) undercollected balance of $21.5 million. esolution G-3533 approves SDG&E s MPBA undercollected balance of $3.2 million. SoCalGas Backbone ransportation Service (BS) will increase by $18.5 million ($18.2 million without FF&U). SoCalGas MPBA, allocated to Local ransmission, is $5.7 million ($5.6 million without FF&U).

4 Advice No December 28, and 2016 Efficiency Savings and Performance ncentive Awards/M esolution E-4897, D Pursuant to D , D , and D , the 2015 and 2016 Efficiency Savings and Performance ncentive Awards Decisions, SoCalGas filed AL esolution E-4897, which addressed AL 5182, calculated an award of $2.8 million. esolution E-4897 was approved on December 14, Pursuant to D , the M Adjustment is a decrease of $2.0 million. Other evenue equirement Adjustments he revenue requirement below also includes a decrease in the Sempra-wide NGV adjustment of $1.91 million, an increase in the Sempra-wide EG adjustment of $0.88 million, and an increase in the ransmission Level Service (LS) adjustment of $3.76 million.
