2 Demands and Needs Statement This Policy meets the demands and needs of an individual wishing to protect themselves against a financial loss for out of pocket expenses that they may incur as a result of their vehicle being subject to a Total Loss due to accident, fire, theft, malicious damage or flood. Admiral does not make personal recommendations as to the suitability of the Policy to individual circumstances. You are solely responsible for deciding whether the Policy is suitable for Your needs.
3 Policy Summary This policy summary does not contain full terms and conditions of the cover, which can be found in the policy document. It is important that you read the policy document which follows this policy summary. Name of Insurer Admiral Insurance (Gibraltar) Limited, Suite 3G, Eurolife Building, 1 Corral Road, Gibraltar. Claims are administered by EUI Limited. Registered at Capital Tower, Greyfriars Road, Cardiff, CF10 3AZ. Type of Insurance and Cover Top-Up Cover provides protection against a financial loss for out of pocket expenses that You might incur as a result of the Insured Vehicle being subject to a Total Loss due to accident, fire, theft, malicious damage or flood. Eligibility Top-Up Cover is suitable for: n Customers with a valid Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy n Vehicles less than 10 years old n Where the Insured Vehicle is valued at 4,000 or more at Inception. Period of Cover Provided This Policy will run concurrently with Your Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy and will end when the Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy ends. This cover is not transferable. If Admiral ceases to sell Top-Up Cover, the product will be removed from Your Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy at Your next renewal. Significant Features and Benefits n This Policy provides cover for Your Insured Vehicle. (Section 1. Meaning of words: Insured Vehicle) n If within the Period of Insurance the Insured Vehicle is classed as a Total Loss by Us, We will pay You 2,000 towards out of pocket expenses. Other Significant and Unusual Exclusions or Limitations n Any vehicle which is not covered by Your Admiral Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy. (Section 3. Exclusions: 1.a.) n Any Total Loss that occurred due to theft while the Insured Vehicle ignition keys were left with Your Insured Vehicle. (Section 3. Exclusions: 2.d.) n Any Total Loss when the Insured Vehicle was being driven by a person n n n n not covered under the Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy or who does not hold a valid licence to drive the Insured Vehicle; or who is under the influence of, or being affected by alcohol or drugs, other than drugs taken under the direction of a qualified medical practitioner; or being driven illegally (does not apply if the person driving is reported to the police for taking the Insured Vehicle without Your permission). (Section 3. Exclusions: 2.f.) Page 1
4 n n Any Total Loss that occurred due to a deliberate act caused by You or any driver insured to drive Your Insured Vehicle. (Section 3. Exclusions: 2.g.) Only one claim can be made per Period of Insurance. (Section 3. Exclusions: 3.a.) Cancellation You may cancel this product and receive a full refund, subject to You not making a claim, if You inform us within 14 days from receipt of the confirmation letter or . Should You cancel outside the 14 day cancellation period, additional charges, including a 5 cancellation fee will apply for the time on cover. This leaflet explains the cover You have bought, but if You have any queries call Admiral Customer Services on and we ll be happy to help. Your Policy Whenever a word appears in this policy document and is defined in Section 1 Meaning of Words, it takes on that special meaning. This policy document (Policy) sets out the details of Your insurance cover. Please read this Policy carefully and keep it in a safe place. This Policy is arranged and administered by EUI Limited (trading as Admiral), (FSA Registration No ), Capital Tower, Greyfriars Road, Cardiff, CF10 3AZ and is underwritten by Admiral Insurance (Gibraltar) Limited, Suite 3G, Eurolife Building, 1 Corral Road, Gibraltar. EUI Limited are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority. Admiral Insurance (Gibraltar) Limited is licensed and regulated by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission under the Financial Services (Insurance Companies) Act 1987 of Gibraltar. Provided the eligibility requirements in Section 2 are met, this Policy provides the Claim Benefit to You in the event that Your Insured Vehicle is subject to a Total Loss due to accident, fire, theft, malicious damage or flood. You must pay or agree to pay the Premium for this insurance and cover is for one Period of Insurance at a time. Section 1. Meaning of Words Claim Benefit The amount that can be claimed if the Insured Vehicle is a Total Loss is 2,000. Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy A valid and in force Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy through EUI Limited covering the Insured Vehicle. Date Of Loss The date the incident occurred, which resulted in Admiral declaring the Insured Vehicle a Total Loss. EUI Limited Admiral is a trading name of EUI Limited. Inception The first date Top-Up Cover is added to Your Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy. Insured Vehicle The vehicle specified on your Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy Schedule. Period of Insurance The period of Your Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy which runs concurrent with this Policy and does not exceed 12 months. This cover is not transferable and will cease at the same time as Your Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy. If Admiral ceases to sell Top-Up Cover, the product will be removed from Your Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy at Your next renewal. Page 3
6 Premium The premium that You must pay for cover under this Policy. If You pay the premium annually rather than by monthly instalments, this is paid at the start of Your Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy. If You pay by monthly instalments, the premium is paid monthly alongside Your Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy. Your cover is renewed at the end of each Period of Insurance. Territorial Limits The Policy cover applies to accidents that happen in the territorial limits of Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Channel Islands, any other country which is a member of the European Union, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, Croatia, Andorra and Liechtenstein. Total Loss Where a claim has been agreed for the total loss of the Insured Vehicle under the terms of Your Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy, or the Insured Vehicle has been stolen. We/Us/Our EUI Limited trading as Admiral and/or the underwriters. You/Your The policyholder specified on your Admiral Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy schedule. Section 2. Eligibility You are eligible for this insurance cover if: n The Insured Vehicle is less than 10 years old and is valued at 4,000 or more at Inception n You have a valid in force Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy covering the Insured Vehicle Change of Vehicles There is no limit to the amount of times you can change Your Insured Vehicle throughout the policy, however the new vehicle must meet the eligibility criteria. Section 3. Exclusions 1. Vehicles a. Any vehicle which is not covered by Your Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy. b. Used for hire or reward, delivery courier, driving school, haulage, or used by an entity formed for the purposes of selling or servicing motor vehicles. c. Used on the Nurburgring Nordschleife, or for racing formally or informally against another motorist, pace-making, competitions, rallies, track days, trials or tests, speed trials or speed tests, either on a road, track, or at an off-road 4x4 event. 2. Any Total Loss: a. Where the Premium is not received by Us. b. That occurred outside the Territorial Limits. c. That occurred before the Inception of this Policy. d. That occurred due to theft while the Insured Vehicle ignition keys were left with Your Insured Vehicle. Page 4
7 e. That was not covered, or agreed under Your Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy. f. When the Insured Vehicle was being driven by a person n not covered under the Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy or n who does not hold a valid licence to drive the Insured Vehicle; or n who is under the influence of, or being affected by alcohol or drugs, other than drugs taken under the direction of a qualified medical practitioner; or n being driven illegally (does not apply if the person driving is reported to the police for taking the vehicle without Your permission). g. That occurred due to a deliberate act caused by You or any driver insured to drive Your Insured Vehicle. h. That occurred as a result of war, riot, civil commotion, terrorism, pollution or contamination. i. That occurred as a result of Radioactive contamination from ionising radiation or contamination from any nuclear fuel or from any nuclear waste arising from burning nuclear fuel, or the radioactive, toxic, explosive or other dangerous effect of any explosive nuclear equipment or part of that equipment. j. That is the subject of fraud or dishonesty. Then We may declare the Policy void in its entirety and no cover will apply, We shall be entitled to recover from You the amount of any claim already paid under the Policy and We shall not make any return of Premium. 3. Claims Limits a. Only one claim can be made per Period of Insurance Section 4. When does the cover end? 1. This cover ends automatically as soon as one of the following happens: a. You do not pay a Premium when due b. The day and time Your Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy ends. Section 5. Cancellation Rights a. Your rights You may cancel this product and receive a full refund, subject to You not making a claim, if You inform us within 14 days from receipt of the confirmation letter or . Our rights If any claim under this Policy shall be in any respect fraudulent or if any fraudulent means or devices shall be used by You, the Insured Person or anyone acting on the Insured Person s behalf, to obtain the Claim Benefit under this Policy We shall be under no liability in respect of such claim and shall be entitled to terminate the Policy. Your Top-Up Cover policy will be cancelled if Your Comprehensive Motor Insurance Policy is declared void or ceases to be in force for any reason. Section 6: General Governing law and language English law will apply to Your Policy unless we make a written agreement saying otherwise to You. All communication is to be conducted in English. Rights of Third Parties This agreement is made for the benefit of the parties to it and is not intended to benefit, or be enforceable by, any other person in accordance with the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 or otherwise. Section 7. What to do if You wish to claim To make a claim please call the Claims Line on (MultiCar customers to call ). Please have Your address and policy number available when notifying Us of a claim. Section 8. Our Promise of Service EUI Limited aim at all times to provide a first class standard of service. However, there may be occasions when You feel that this objective has not been achieved.
