1 UNC System widee Lighting Performan nce Contract Project HUB Participation Selection Process UNC System Wide Lighting Upgrade Performance Contract Project Overview The University of North Carolina General Administration will be executing a System Wide Lighting Upgrade in Partnership with CREE and Johnson Controls. This will be the largest LED installation in the state of North Carolina and participation from local distributors and subcontractors is encouraged. The following is a high level overview of the project: Performance contract with scope definition focused on lighting and lighting controls opportunities. Project goals include reduced energy consumption, improved lighting quality and consistency. Additional benefits include reduced maintenance e requirements and the potential to cut greenhouse gas emissions and lower carbon footprint. Up to 16 Participating institutions and affiliates include: ASU, ECU, FSU, NC A&T, NCCU, NCSSM, UNC A, UNC C, UNC G, UNC Pthe selected Energy Services Company (ESCO) partnering with UNC SA, WCU, WSSU, UNC GA, UNC TV, NC Arboretum. Johnson Controls, Inc. is CREE and working closely with local distributors and subcontractors. Facilities include State appropriated and non appropriated, interior and exterior. Anticipated Project Duration: Spring 2014 to the Spring of Johnson Controls is looking for contractors to participate in the Installation of the project. 4 Insurance Subcontractor shall obtain and maintain the insurance required by this paragraph from qualified insurance carriers who are A. M. Best Company rated no less than Secure Rating of A-, or better, and Financial Size Category rating of FCS VII, or larger. Subcontractor shall name Contractor, any higher-tier contractor and Owner as an additional insured under the general liability and auto liability policies. All policies furnished by Subcontractor shall be primary and non-contributory. Subcontractor s insurance policy shall also provide contractual coverage for Subcontractor s indemnity obligation required by paragraph 5.3 of this Agreement. All policies, with the exception of Workers Compensation, shall be on an occurrence form. The insurance provided by this paragraph shall not be cancelled unless Contractor is given thirty (30) days notice in advance of the cancellation date and Subcontractor has made arrangements for replacement insurance under this paragraph. Subcontractor shall furnish an insurance certificate which complies with this paragraph. To the extent the subcontractor seeks to vary, change or otherwise alter any safety practice, application or procedure, the subcontractor will submit a job hazard analysis to JCI for approval.
