We have put together the following recommendations to keep your HVB Visa Infinite Card as safe as possible from unauthorised access As cardholder, please bear the following recommendations in mind: n Sign the card immediately on receipt. n Never entrust the card to a third party and always keep your PIN separate from the card. n Never enter your PIN into the electronic door opener of a financial institute, only in cash dispensers and electronic checkouts. n Never divulge your PIN, not even to the police or bank employees. n Ensure that no-one is able to look over your shoulder as you enter your PIN. n Do not become distracted while entering your PIN. n Always hold your free hand or your wallet over the keypad. The following examples aim to provide some assistance. Example 2: You find transactions on your statement that were not authorised by you. In this case, your card has been used fraudulently. To get everything up and running again quickly. Example 1: Unusual spending patterns. If there is an unusual spending pattern or a single transaction on your card that is particularly high, your card may be blocked (not cancelled). Example 3: You or your relationship manager receive a call from the HVB Card Service informing you that your HVB Visa Infinite Card has had to be cancelled. Obviously, the security system has positively identified improper use of the credit card. This means: n Your HVB Visa Infinite Card will be replaced; a new credit card will be sent to you by mail. n Since they have been identified, the unauthorised transactions will not be deducted from your credit card account. n Nevertheless, you should check your statements carefully and report any further unauthorised transactions.
