1 MetroParks will accept applications for practice field use located at Voice of America MetroPark for Spring 2019 (April 1 June 30). Practice fields A, B, C, D & E can be reserved FREE of charge. 2 *Please note that these practice fields are not part of the Voice of America Park Athletic Complex (VOA A.C.) (22 Multi-purpose fields) that are currently available for permit. Athletic Complex fields can be reserved now, for play occurring after April 15, 2019, for a fee. The following permit times are for the practice fields A, B, C, D and E located at Voice of America MetroPark on a daily basis by permit: 1. 8am-12pm 2. 12pm-4pm 3. 4pm to dusk or 9:00pm (whichever comes first). Exceptions must be specifically approved by MetroParks administration (Executive Director or Deputy Director). The practice fields do not offer lighted playing fields. All areas of the surrounding park land except for scheduled use of the VOA A.C., close at dark unless otherwise specifically authorized in advance by the MetroParks. No more than 2 teams or the equivalent may use a field at one time within each block of reserved time. Exceptions must be specifically approved by MetroParks Executive or Deputy Director. Permitted times shall include ALL set-up, warm-up; and take down/clean-up time in a time block. The turf growing season for natural grass athletic fields is extremely limited. Therefore, use before April 15 th is kept to a minimum by management to ensure field quality. Exceptions for play outside of the established seasons must be specifically approved by MetroParks Executive or Deputy Director. For each Practice Field, Permits are issued for the time frames established below: Spring Season: April 15 th June 30 th Fall Season: August 1 st October 31 st Applications are accepted January 14 th to March 1 st for the Spring Season and June 1 st through July 15 th the Fall Season. If there is more interest than there are fields, a lottery drawing will be held each application period. If the fields are not filled after each respective deadline, the schedule will be based on first come first served. Page 2 of 6 SS 1/5/19

5 In order for MetroParks of Butler County to provide all of the citizens of Butler County with fair use of a clean, well-maintained and safe playing environment at the most affordable cost, the following rules and regulations have been adopted. Please help us by making sure that the members of your organization are aware of the following: 1. All vehicles entering Voice of America Park must display a valid Motor Vehicle Permit (MVP). The permits can be purchased for $5/daily or $10/ annually for Non-Butler County residents. MVPS are offered at no cost to Butler County Residents. Motor Vehicle Permits are available at all MetroParks park areas, at the MetroParks of Butler County Administrative Office or on-line at All motor vehicles must park on hard surfaces or in designated parking locations only. No motor vehicles are permitted on athletic fields or trails without prior permission of the MetroParks of Butler County. 2. Alcohol and alcoholic beverages are prohibited in the MetroParks except in designated controlled and regulated areas. 3. Voice of America MetroPark Practice Facilities are by permit only and are available April 1 st through June 30 th for Spring Season and August 1 st through October 31 st for the Fall Season. MetroParks reserves the right to close fields due to special events (permit holders will be notified). All practice field facility usage must be scheduled through the MetroParks of Butler County Administrative Office. Please call or Info@YourMetroParks.net for field scheduling information. Use of the fields requires a special permit from the MetroParks of Butler County. 4. All teams and/or organizations are required to provide a Certificate of Liability Insurance naming MetroParks of Butler County as additional insured in the amount of no less than $2,000,000 per person and per occurrence for incidents and bodily insurance, death and/or property damage, or an umbrella policy of at least $2,000, All participants, team members, etc. are required to sign a Participant Waiver of Responsibility form. Each team and/or league is required to keep signed copies on file and should be able to produce said copies for MetroParks upon request. The Executive Director of MetroParks, in his or her sole discretion, may authorize alternative language or waive this requirement. 6. No items or services shall be sold and no donations solicited on any MetroParks property without the written approval of the MetroParks of Butler County. 7. No person shall display, distribute or place any sign, advertisement, circular, notice, or statement; or display any banner, emblem or design, within any MetroParks property without specific approval by the MetroParks of Butler County. No tents are allowed without prior approval and permit. If tents are approved, the MetroParks of Butler County staff must mark water, electric and phone lines before tents are erected. Permitee is responsible for acquiring and payment of any permits that may be required for tents or other temporary structures. Use of public address systems on the property must be approved in advance and a permit issued by the MetroParks. Page 5 of 6 SS 1/5/19

In the case of inclement weather, any organizations scheduled to play on the VOA Practice Fields must contact the park cancellation line if there is any chance the fields may be closed to prevent injuries and surface damage. MetroParks of Butler County will use the following criteria for closing any field(s): standing water, saturated fields and any unsafe playing conditions. If inclement weather occurs during league games/practices, teams must use their own judgment to continue or cancel. Notice of field closures due to inclement weather will take place no later than 4:00 p.m. on weekdays and 8:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Any organization that uses fields that have been closed through the cancellation line will be assessed a $ per field fine. The Voice of America MetroPark Field Status can be found at 9. Each organization is responsible for the safety of the participants using the facilities during inclement weather. MetroParks of Butler County will not be responsible for injuries due to lightning, wind, hail, snow, rain, or any other natural occurrences. 10. Programs, literature, or any publicity promoting use of the athletic fields shall not identify the MetroParks of Butler County as a sponsor without prior approval and agreement of the MetroParks of Butler County. 11. MetroParks of Butler County makes no warranties as to the fitness of its facilities for a particular purpose. Visitors use the parks at their own risk. 12. The MetroParks of Butler County assumes no responsibility for damage to or loss to any person or to property brought into the park. 13. Teams and organizations are responsible for any damages caused by their members, players and guests, including spectators. 14. The organization and/or team using Voice of America Park facilities accepts responsibility for ensuring that all trash is picked up and that the property is left in good condition. Costs for repairing damage to the grounds will be assessed to the sponsoring organization and/or team. 15. Pets must be kept on six-foot leashes and under control at all times. Owners are to clean up after their pet. 16. Athletic field equipment including soccer goals, benches, picnic tables and trash cans may not be moved without the MetroParks approval. 17. Soccer goals must be kept staked down at all times. Staking must follow soccer goal manufacturer s recommendations. 18. Major events (other than normal game/practice usage) require a special contract with the MetroParks and assumption of additional costs by the sponsor for extra safety patrols, traffic control, restrooms, clean-up, etc. Please contact MetroParks at for additional information. 19.
