The portal will transmit a complete application and it will immediately flow through the underwriting process. CareFirst Broker Portal Change New CareFirst Connect Individual istore Enhancement Correspondence Contact List Update CareFirst Broker Portal Change In order to protect certain CareFirst proprietary information, we have placed a login requirement when entering the Broker & Agents section of CareFirst.com. If you are a contracted broker and do not have access, please contact your dedicated IMD Broker Rep to have your set up requested. Sub-agents may still access Individual Applications & Forms and the CareFirst istore from the Brokers & Agents page see the attached screenshot. New CareFirst Connect Individual istore Enhancement On August 3, 2009 a new enhancement was implemented on the CareFirst Connect Individual istore. You will now find more detailed status descriptions for your submitted Broker Portal cases. This will affect ONLY applications submitted after August 3. Additionally, please note that paper applications will not be in the broker portal and will not have electronic status updates. Please see the attached list of updated status descriptions. Correspondence Contact List Update As of August 2009 we have updated the Correspondence Contact List. Please replace your Contact List previously sent in the July 2, 2009 Broker Flash. Section one of the form has been revised. 2 Broker Status (istore) - Descriptions Proposal Saved - Proposals that have been saved for a client, but not yet sent. Proposal Sent - Proposals that have been sent to a client. Proposal Viewed by client Proposal has been opened and viewed by prospective member. Incomplete: Applications that have been started (either from a proposal or otherwise), but not yet complete. Signature Required - esign only: The application must be esigned. Paper applications are not accepted. Signature Required - Printed: The unsigned application has been printed by wither the broker of record or carrier to obtain a signature from the client. Pending Medical Records Application is in Medical Underwriting awaiting Medical Records to be returned. Pending Carrier Missing Information HIPAA Application missing HIPAA Certificate Pending Alternative Coverage - Application has been approved but can not be enrolled until the exclusion; rate-up and/or pre-ex waiver is returned Pending Partial Approval Acceptance Application is approved. The primary applicant/or dependant (s) was excluded from the policy. Withdrawn - The application has expired, either voluntarily by the client, or by the carrier for a client's failure to provide necessary information. (Applicant declined rate-up exclusions, etc) Withdrawn Signature/Date Expired Application signature date has expired Declined - An application is declined only if all members on the application are declined. Approved - If a submitted application requires no modifications from underwriting, the application is approved or if the applicant accepted t Carrier Partially Approved - If an application is tentatively accepted by underwriting pending a rate-up or pending acceptance from approved members of a declined member, the application typically remains in a pending state until the applicant accepts the modified offer. 1
